Rebecca telling Paul that their weekend was the most romantic in her life.
Elle telling Ollie that things will go back to how they were once the DNA test comes back.
Ned telling Janae that he loves her and wants to be with her.
Mickey being trapped in the house when the alarm goes off.
The alarm is still going off and Mickey can't get out via the front door. Declan tells him to go back to the window where he throws a brick through it.
Rebecca is telling Paul how he trapped in into spending the weekend with him by lying to him about her identity and age adding that they didn't surface for two days! She seems happy telling him about it and Paul is surprised to hear her describe him as a nice man, which she certainly wouldn't just a few months ago!
Paul wonders what happened after the weekend and she explains that her dad found his number and burnt it, that he didn't contact her (she assumed he'd had a change of heart) and FF 9 months, little Ollie pops out. Paul confesses that he hopes the tests reveal he isn't the father because of Elle and Ollie's relationship.
Mickey is now out of the house but is refusing to budge because Jake has some blood on his paws. Eventually Declan spells it out – he either goes home with him or he can go to jail. Mickey decides to follow Declan as he runs off.
Elle comes by to see why Ollie (who is working late because he can't sleep) hasn't been answering her texts and he replies that he has been busy before walking off.
Rebecca shows Paul some things about Ollie growing up (the scene cuts to Elle watching Ollie dry a wine glass) while admitting she never stopped thinking about him or his dad even though the Barnes' were raising him.
Paul spots a cufflink with PR engraved on it and Rebecca tells him that it is his and she jokingly says it was her insurance to make sure he did come back and Paul remembers the history behind it – Helen gave it to him for is 18th.
Paul again raises why she didn't contact him and she explains that she did track him down via the airline, but when she did, a unfriendly female called Julie answered the phone and she presumed he was married. She then did what her father wanted – to give the baby up. He explains to her that Julie was his sister and wishes he could remember why he didn't contact her. “Fate I guess,” replies Rebecca and he asks her if she thinks what is happening now is fate as we head back to Lassiter's and this time Ollie is looking at Elle, smiling at her.
PAUL: What are we going to do?
REBECCA: Tomorrow, when the DNA results are back, they'll believe us and we'll deal with it together.
As Rebecca was saying that, Elle went over to Ollie and hugged him.
Outside Rebecca's pad
Paul slowly makes his way out of the house and down the driveway before getting into a car. He reaches into his pocket and gets out the cufflink and sits staring into space holding it.
Just seconds after Paul leaves, Declan leads Mickey and Jake into the house telling him to keep quiet when his mum gets home from night shift. However, before they can make themselves at home, Rebecca who hasn't left for work yet and comes out of one of the rooms. The three of them hide but Jake gives them away when he barks and while Rebecca recovers from the shock, Declan quickly explains that it was a stray he picked up because it was injured when he decided not to stay over at a mates place. Rebecca notices the blood and wants to sort the dog out herself but Declan pleads for him to be treated by a vet (he will pay), to which Rebecca reluctantly agrees to.
This is a popular place tonight, as commercial break over, and a vet has appeared – Steve accompanied by Didge, who isn't exactly amused by going to a house call late at night. Rebecca answers the door and after the intro's, lets the vet and his assistant in. Steve recognises the dog is Jake straight away and wants to chat to Declan after Rebecca explains how they came to have him.
When Declan appears, Didge recognises him straight away as the person last seen with Mickey. Rebecca pleads Declan's innocence but he holds out from telling exactly how he came across Jake. Steve and Didge depart, taking the dog with them, and Rebecca demands that he says if there is anything she needs to know about.
Mickey appears and Rebecca goes to run after the Parker's but as soon as she opens the door, Steve and Didge are standing there because he is calling the police.
Rebecca's pad (later on)
SSH is giving Mickey a mini-lecture about who he keeps company with before going off to question Declan. Rebecca is aghast at what her son has gotten up to, explaining to Steve that he's never done anything like this before. “Maybe he's never been caught before,” Didge pipes up.
Ned arrives on the scene and wastes no time in being reunited with his son, both hugging the other to death. Ned isn't amused to see Declan and has to be physically restrained but Mickey pipes up to say that Declan is his friend.
Ned carries in a sleeping Mickey and wants to put the whole crash thing behind them but Steve points out that Mickey needs things explained to him, especially if something happens to Ringo.
Lassiter's (next day)
Elle is surprised to see Ollie come into work and things are a bit tense between them but he agrees to the offer of a lift by Elle to get the results.
Paul suddenly appears to ask how many cars they are taking to the hospital before Elle quizzes him on where he was last night. He explains that he went to see Rebecca to see what sort of a person she is. “The unstable type,” states Elle, which Paul totally dismisses and tells her she has to prepare herself for what the test results may tell.
ELLE: Dad, I am prepared. I am prepared to watch that woman choke on her lies.
Ned decides it is time for a chat with Mickey. Mickey thinks that he hates him for crashing the truck, which Ned rejects, then asks if he is angry with him instead. Ned replies that he was to start with because people got hurt, and brings it up that Ringo isn't too good and is still in the hospital. Janae quietly enters to hear Mickey ask to be taken to the hospital so he can say sorry and Ned tries to explain to him in words that he will understand that Ringo is in an induced coma. They both hope that Ringo does get better and Janae makes herself know and Mickey gets off the sofa and hugs her tightly and promises not to run away again. Nonchalantly, Ned asks if Mickey can come with him to the garage and all a bemused Janae can reply is “sure”.
While Mickey draws at a table, Janae tries to temp Ned into having a break and a milkshake but he brushes her off, preferring to keep on working. She asks him why did he “reward” Mickey with a day off school and wonders what punishment will be dished out. Ned replies he hasn't thought of that and thinks Janae is all set to tell him what to do like Steve did but is surprised when she compliments him on how he told Mickey about Ringo.
NED: What did I do before he came along? I mean the last 48 hours has been hell but he's such a gift. He's the one good thing in my life at the moment.
JANAE: (bemused) So what was that stuff the other…
Before she can finish her sentence, Mickey calls for his dad and Ned goes off to see what he wants, still getting used to someone calling him dad.
Declan tries to butter up his mum as way of an apology but instead gets the cold shoulder especially when he hasn't got an excuse for what he did. Rebecca isn't amused either when it dawns on he where the money he was giving her was really coming from and has a major rant at him for lying and stealing. His apologies aren't working but when he sees how upset she is getting, he promises not to do anything stupid again because she is fearful for losing him.
DECLAN: Does this mean I'm off to boarding school?
REBECCA: No, I'm going to lock you in the shed, its much cheaper!
Mother and son seem to have mended the bridges and she tells him to get a move on so she can drop him off on her way at school for an exam.
Elle is burning off her nervous energy on getting the hotel ready for a conference and having a go at Ollie for the room not being ready. He tells her to relax but she isn't in the mood and tightens up when he starts talking about the test results because she fears they will not go their way.
Rebecca joins Paul, Elle and Ollie in the hospital just as Dr Mundy asks Ollie and Paul to enter his room. Rebecca heads in too and Ollie holds out his hand for Elle to join them.
Stanford wants to go through things first but Elle wants him to cut to the chase.
STANFORD: DNA testing is generally accepted as the most accurate method for determining paternity. Now, we can identify the father of a child with 99.9% accuracy. It can also rule him out entirely with 100% accuracy.
Elle gets a ticking off from Paul when she tells the doc that they know all this and he opens the envelope and cue tension music as we head into the final commercial break.
Tension music and commercial break over, we come back to the hospital with everyone on tenterhooks as Stanford reads the results.
STANFORD: It's negative.
Elle breathes a huge sigh of relief while Paul wonders if there has been an error but Stanford confirms that there is no way he could be Ollie's father. Rebecca wants to see the results with her own eyes and Elle decides its time to have a go at her. Tearfully, Rebecca apologies for putting them through this, adding she was so certain before she leaves the room.
Ollie follows her out and calls her back, where again she apologises for hurting them because she was so sure Paul was the daddy. He demands to know who his father is since it isn't Paul. Rebecca replies that she doesn't know but Ollie doesn't believe her and it's his turn to tell his mum that she has her wish – he won't be contacting her ever again.
