Number 24
Dylan is talking to Sky's bump, telling bubs that he or she must support the Colac Imperials. Sky might say footy is for meatheads but footy fans are much more exciting than lentil munchers. Even though Dyl would eat lentils for Sky - that's how much he loves her! This is true love and Dylan really means it. Sky looks seriously troubled at Dylan's revelation. She tells him that she's been a freak lately. She's been concentrating on wedding stuff so much because she's gutless to tell him the truth. She reminds him she loves him and wouldn't intentionally do anything to hurt him. This is going to hurt, real bad...
SKY: When we broke up I had a one-night stand with Stingray. I'm sorry but you're not the father.
Dylan says he sussed the whole deal weeks ago. He was mad at first but he loves Sky and his stupid little bro and the baby. Sky can't believe he's okay with it. Dylan say he loves her and not to worry about it. He pulls back from kissing her and she's asleep.
Dylan calls over to her that dinner is ready, waking her up. She was so out of it and mumbling away. Dylan asks if she's okay as Sky realises it was all a dream...
Dylan tells her that his nan has given them $10 000! A wedding present that means they can have the crazy wedding Sky wants!
Number 22
Lyn leads Ozzy away as Paul confronts Elle about stealing Max's car, which she denies. She's sorry that Max is going crazy but she had nothing to do with the car. Paul tells her that Max hired an investigator and the PI has proof. Max gets the report in the morning. Elle can't believe that Paul would believe a nutcase over his own daughter. He could just call the day spa to check the whereabouts but she tells him not to bother as she leaves.
Lyn reappears and asks Paul if he thinks Elle's capable of what Max is accusing her of. Paul thinks he should maybe call the day spa but it's too late to call today. Lyn tells him that she doesn't think Max would make something like this up. If Elle has done this then it's some sort of revenge; she's going through the same pain as Paul. Lyn says that Paul is back on track and he'll get Elle there too.
Number 28
Karl and Susan are making out and Karl suggests they move it to the bedroom. Susan mentions that they should get Audrey and this rather kills the mood. She reminds Karl that things can only improve with her if they follow Dr Little's advice. Audrey appears; she stinks and Karl is apoplectic when Susan tries to clean her up, using his good jumper. Susan tells Karl that he has to follow the advice he was given - to put his love into action - but the only way Karl can think of where he can do that is to send Audrey to live with Libby. Susan thinks that all three of them curling up on the sofa to watch a DVD together is a far better idea.
Number 32
Boyd listens as Steph talks to Toadie on the phone. Once she's hung up she announces that Toadie is in Sydney for six months - and he never even said goodbye in person! Boyd muses that he might have met a girl.
Lyn appears and Steph tells her that she would've stopped Max hiring a private investigator if she'd known about it. However he does have definite proof of what Elle's been up to. Steph believes him and so does Boyd (he was with Max when the PI called him), although he admits he was starting to think Max was losing it.
Max comes in, wearing one of his new favourite sport jackets, and Lyn asks what's happening with Elle. Max is going to show Paul the report and Paul will take it from there. He won't press charges; all he wants is for her to get some professional help and stay away from his family.
Number 24
Sky is struggling to eat as Dylan talks about Loris' ten grand. When he asks her she admits she's unsure about accepting the money and she's even uncertain about having a big reception now. Dylan is confused about her changing her mind. Sky has a flashback to her dream, where she tells Dylan she had a one night stand with Stingray. Suddenly Sky wants a big lavish reception and wedding planners. Dylan goes off to get a magazine from Sky's room while she goes over to the bin and chucks her dinner out.
Dylan shouts from the bedroom that having this kid makes him feel so cool.
Ramsay Street
The next morning Max (wearing the red version of his sport jacket) receives the report from someone working for 'Pinders Couriers' (now that's a blast from the past). Lyn, Elle and Paul walk out number 22's door and Max decides to walk over to them, followed by Boyd, Steph and Charlie (in his buggy).
Max tells Paul he's sorry that it's come to this as he opens the report.
MAX: What is this?
He looks over to Elle, who looks smug with her arms crossed. He says that this wasn't what the PI told him about over the phone. Elle pouts as Max drops the report on the ground in shock. Paul retrieves it and reads that Elle was at the day spa, then shopped and had coffee with friends.
MAX: This is bull.
Paul tells them that the report says Elle was nowhere near Max or his car. Max reiterates that the PI said he'd seen her.
PAUL: You need help, Max. Now.
The number 22 crew walk off without another word.
Ramsay Street
Where we left off. Max walks up to Paul and Elle and says they did this! Elle must've got to the PI and paid him off. Max knows she stole his car!
Steph tells her husband to stop it and Paul addresses her, saying he doesn't want to have to go to the police about her husband.
MAX: Are you threatening me?
PAUL: You get him sorted or I'll get a restraining order!
They're about to leave when Max calls out for Elle.
MAX: I know what you're doing here and it's not going to work. (shouts) It's not going to work, Elle!
Steph and Boyd manage to get Max across the road and the two families return to their respective homes.
Number 28
Susan hands Karl a coffee, which he'd thought was for 'Lady Muck'. Audrey barks as Susan sits next to Karl so she moves back to sit beside Audrey. Karl thinks this is ridiculous - enough is enough!
KARL: Audrey, listen to me. I am a human being - homo sapien. You are a dog - a canis horribilis. I have opposable thumbs, a medical degree. I compose and play music. (which Susan thinks is debatable)
Karl looks back to Audrey.
KARL: When was the last time you put up some shelves? Compared a Shiraz to a Pinot? I am your superior and your master. When I say "Jump", you say "How high, sir?"
He tells her to get off the couch. He shouts and bawls but to no avail, as sometime later he and Susan are sitting on the floor, watching telly, while Audrey continually barks and growls from the couch.
Number 32
Max tells Steph and Boyd that the PI phoned him and confirmed all his suspicions were correct. He reminds them that Boyd was there but Boyd admits he couldn't hear what was being said over the phone. Boyd leaves to check on Charlie, but not before telling his dad not to do this.
MAX: I'm not doing anything, mate.
He swears to Steph that all the weird goings-on are down to Elle. Steph tries to get him to calm down but Max is already ranting about needing to pay the PI more than Elle did and, if that doesn't work, then he'll threaten to break every bone in his body. Steph is shocked but Max is adamant that he'll get heavy with the guy in order to sort this out. Steph won't let him persecute Elle. If he doesn't calm down and accept help then she and Charlie won't stay here. He's been under massive stress but all the Elle stuff and hiring the investigator is too much; he has to listen to himself. She puts her hands on his waist but Max just stares at her then takes her hands off and pushes her away.
MAX: I'm not going mad, Steph.
Number 28
The pet therapist arrives and senses a lot of hostility.
KARL: You've got that right!
Dr Little thinks that there's too much negativity and asks if Karl's been practising Happy Daddy. Susan says they've tried playing Happy Families.
Dr Little tells Karl to get off the couch and Karl's not too pleased. Dr Little says that this is how Audrey feels - having a stranger coming into her own house and ordering her about. Karl reminds her that Audrey is a dog. Dr Little says that there are deep bonds between humans and pets and by the time she's finished he and Audrey will have resumed their rightful place in the cosmic order. What they have to do is teach Karl to be a man!
Number 24
The wedding planner people are over and helping Dylan and Sky try on outfits for the wedding. Dylan is getting changed in the living room while Sky's in the bedroom. They shout across to each other. Dylan agrees to wear a tie and Sky likes the Nick Cave look! Sky tells Dyl to look away when she comes into the living room as it's bad luck and all. The wedding expert, Simone, loves Sky's wedding dress and veil - it's beautiful and suits baby too. Dylan peeks through his fingers to catch Sky's reflection on the TV screen.
SIMONE: Nice you'll all be together on the most important -
Sky wobbles and faints. Dylan rushes to her side.
Number 24
Sky tells Dylan that wooziness happens to pregnant chicks. Dylan thinks that the fact he looked at her really was bad luck and Sky reminds him she told him not to. Dylan says that Bree thinks she's not eating enough and Sky dismisses it but Dylan is worried - what if Sky had been alone when she fainted? He saw that she didn't eat dinner and she didn't have much for breakfast either. Sky says she's starving now and suggests Dyl takes her out for lunch. He will, as long as she eats everything on her plate.
SKY: Deal.
Number 32
Max is on the phone, telling the PI that he'll double what Elle paid him. The PI hangs up and Steph tells him to stop. Max paces around, saying he must be lying. Steph tells him that it's all over now. Max is still trying to rationalise it - the car had just disappeared. He doesn't remember it at all but he must have driven it off. Steph comforts him, saying that sometimes things happen that throw us out of whack. Max nods.
STEPH: But you're going to be alright. We're gonna get you some help.
Max nods.
MAX: I don't remember it at all, Steph.
STEPH (crying; hugs him): I know, sweetheart. It's gonna be alright. You're going to be alright, Max.
Number 28
Karl is crawling around on the floor and snarling, with a dog biscuit in his mouth. According to Dr Little he's asserting his authority as top dog. Then he takes the dog biscuit out his mouth and gives it to Audrey. Audrey eats it and Dr Little and Susan applaud Karl; Susan is going to tell all her friends about this. Karl isn't chuffed.
While Susan goes to get her cheque book Karl moans about the price of the sessions to Dr Little. He does however manage to get a 17.5% discount on future sessions, as long as he recommends a Dr Little to a friend.
Scarlet Bar
Sky is eating and Dylan is glad he can tell Bree that everything is fine. When he goes to get something else Sky spits her food out into her napkin.
Susan is kicking herself that she didn't tape Karl's canine exploits.
KARL (complaining):...We paid good money for me to act like a wally.
SUSAN: Yes. Especially when you're so happy to be a wally for free.
KARL: Oh... I hate you so very, very much!
Susan appreciates the gesture and wants him to keep enough love in his heart for their next appointment with Dr Little.
Susan goes to the ladies' and Karl asks Dylan how Harvey is settling into Paul's. Dyl thinks he's doing fine, apart from trying to bury Paul's fake leg on the first night. Karl gives Dylan Dr Little's card to pass on to Paul. He makes it very clear Paul must mention his name.
Dylan tells Sky that Karl is nuts - now he's looking for business for a dog psychologist! He notices that Sky has finished her meal really quickly and gives her some more salad while he darts off to get some more. Sky wraps the food in a napkin and stuffs it in her bag, where there's already one napkin covered food parcel.
Number 22
Paul and Lyn are talking about Max. Lyn hates watching someone disintegrate before her eyes (Paul knows how that feels). She knows that Steph will leave Max if he doesn't get help - she has Charlie to think about. Lyn feels sorry for Boyd. Paul says that he'll have to get a restraining order if Max doesn't get help as he has to protect Elle.
Elle tells them that she doesn't think they'll need one. Max looked defeated and she thinks it's over now.
Hospital
Max is signing some forms and Steph asks if he's sure about this. Max says he is - he was lucky to get a bed on the psych ward. Steph still wants to make sure that Max can't do this from home but he's adamant he can't; he won't put Charlie's life at risk again.
MAX: Never again.
Everything's done so Max says his goodbyes. He tells Boyd he'll see him later.
BOYD: This is crazy, man.
MAX (laughing): Hey, who're you calling crazy?!
Max kisses Charlie, telling his little fella he'll see him later. He looks at Steph.
MAX: I'm sorry. About everything.
He starts to walk away and Steph quickly says it's alright - he's going to be fine.
MAX: Yeah. I just need hit on the back of the head with a mallet and I'll be all sorted.
Max disappears off into the ward and Steph starts to cry.
