Boyd wrongly accusing Max of thinking bad things about Janae.
Lou worrying about Mishka after she is late back.
Rachel asking Stinger if it was Sky that he was seeing.
Rachel is annoyed to find out that Stinger was with Sky but he reassures her that it is all over between them. She jumps to conclusions and asks if he is the father of Sky's baby which he quickly denies before again firmly assuring her that it is all over and hopes that it won't change anything between them. Rachel says that it won't but it doesn't exactly sound convincing and she then decides that it is time to go home before Susan discovers that she is missing. Bree arrived home in the middle of their tiff and with Rachel away; she asks him what he intends to do to make it up to Rachel.
Harold tries to reassure Lou that Mishka will be alright but Lou is very down and concerned because she means the world to him. Lou admits to Harold that he now wishes that they'd run away like they planned to and Harold reminds him that would have entailed having to constantly look over their shoulder all the time. Lou then comes to a decision – he firmly tells Harold that he isn't going to sit around and wait for news that he is going to do something to get her back.
Karl enters the bar to ask Max how Boyd got on with his exams as the results are out today. This is complete news to Max and he admits to Karl that he doesn't know.
Janae tells Boyd to open the envelope with his exam results but he is hesitant in case he has failed. Boyd tries to get Stinger and then Janae to open them and finally she does and informs him that he has two distinctions and a high distinction. Boyd is stunned that at the results.
JANAE: My husband the super brain.
Steph urges Max to give Boyd a call to see how he did get on with the exams but Max simply says back that Boyd will contact them when he is ready, so Steph replies back that it wouldn't help to seem interested. Max tells her that he is interested and asks her to call instead!
No. 30/Scarlet Bar
Steph calls Boyd to ask how the exams went and he lies and says that he hasn't heard yet, so she gets him to let them know as soon as he does because both of them want to know. Boyd asks if his dad wants to talk to him and Steph lies by saying Max is busy which Boyd takes as him not being interested and tells her to tell his dad to call when he is less busy.
When Boyd gets off the phone, Janae wonders why he didn't tell them about his exam results and Boyd replies that Max doesn't care what he does anymore. Janae can't believe that Max wouldn't be interested in the great exam results his son got so he asks why Max didn't call himself.
Max takes the ‘no exam news' to mean that Boyd failed his exams especially given the circumstances of late but Karl doesn't think would have happened. Steph comments that if Boyd has failed then he needs their support and Max promises to speak to him once Boyd has told him personally.
Janae and Boyd plan their night of celebration for Boyd passing his exams – pizza and a double episode of The Simpson's! Stingray suddenly comes to life over something he has seen in the paper he's been reading and has ripped out the paper – a discount session at a local spa. Janae asks if he has someone special in mind and the smile on his face would suggest that he does.
The Community Hall
Bree has joined a support group…for the bereaved! After a random person has said her piece, Bree gets up and tearfully tells the group that her dad died a month ago and doesn't know how she will cope.
Max pushes Charlie in his pram and from a distance spots a dressed up Janae talking to some guy in a suit. We now go to Janae and the guy, and he gets her to confirm that she is 18, and she lies yet again saying “they were the days” ie that she is over 18. As Charlie begins to grizzle, the guy asks Janae to follow him.
At Lou's request, Susan arrives and Harold is a bit puzzled why she is there and how she can provide help in finding Mishka until Lou explains that he wants her to contact Alex's family in Russia for help in tracking down Mishka's hubby. Susan points out that Alex's family are in Belarus not Russia but agrees to call even though she holds little hope of resolution. Harold tries to get Lou to give up but he is insistent and goes to call one of her friends from the Russian club and Harold remakes that they would know more than the Kinski's.
To everyone's joy, Mishka calls and Lou asks if she is okay as everyone has been worried.
Stinger catches Rachel's attention (he's hiding in the flowerbeds) and wonders if she is speaking to him. Rachel plays it cool and replies “probably” and after saying it is probably more than he deserves, he asks her to pretend that she is going to a mate's house tonight as he has something planned as a way of making it up to her. Rachel is a bit suspicious and reminds him that Susan sometimes calls to check up on her, so he suggests that she gives the wrong friends name. She then spots Susan leaving No. 24 and starts to walk to school.
Karl runs into Susan as she walks down the driveway and asks if she is interested in massages, spa, essential oils, and a bit of general naughtiness? “Sounds intriguing,” replies Susan and he confirms that those activities are going to take place tonight and that it is all bought and paid for. They then see Rachel making her way down the street and Susan wonders what she can tell her and Karl reminds Susan that she is a smart woman and can surely come up with something?! Susan then reminds Karl that they were going to tell the kids everything when Zeke got back from camp.
They continue to put on an innocent look to Rachel despite them obviously wanting to take it further especially with the intriguing activities ahead already just as Rachel approaches them.
Both sides play things extremely cool, not wanting to let onto the other what is really going on and finally talk gets round to the evening.
RACHEL: I was just wondering if you had anything…um planned for tonight?
SUSAN: Tonight? (Pause.) No. Did you want to do something together? I'd be happy to.
RACHEL: I…yes sure if that's what you want to do.
SUSAN: Okay. Goodo.
RACHEL: Unless…unless you want to do it another night maybe? Cos I was kind of hoping to go to a friends tonight.
KARL: Sounds like fun.
SUSAN: Ah…yes…well if that's what you'd like to do.
RACHEL: Thanks Susan.
SUSAN: Yes we'll do something tomorrow night; we'll have a girl's night.
RACHEL: Sure, a girl's night. Okay um cool.
They then say goodbye to each other, each breathing a huge sigh of relief and Stinger gives a thumbs up from his hiding place in the flowerbeds.
Max calls Steph to tell her what he saw just as Janae and the guy come out of a house. He hands her a card asking for her to contact him tomorrow. Janae then realises that she's left her bag inside the house and the pair of them head back inside as Max watches on from where he is hiding.
In the office, Max confirms to Steph what he saw and that it didn't look anything school related as nobody was in school uniform. As they make their way out of the office into the bar we see Charlie dressed not in his compulsory white babygrow but in cute shorts and a t-shirt! Woohoo!
Anyway back to the action and Steph asks if he saw Janae kiss the bloke, he didn't, so she asks if he is going to tell Boyd. Max admits that it is unlikely that Boyd would believe him and Steph says that she doesn't believe him either, so he wonders why she thinks he'd make something like that up. Steph replies that Boyd & Janae have only been married for a couple of weeks and that Janae adores Boyd. And speak of the devil, in comes Boyd and Janae but this time she is dressed in her school uniform unlike the posh clothes she had on earlier.
Boyd is about to tell them about his exam results but before he can, Max asks Janae how school was today. She replies back that it was boring as usual and wonders why he is asking. He puts her further on the spot by asking what classes she had this morning. Boyd is now getting a bit suss as to what is going on and is beginning to regret coming in, so Max asks him to say what he was going to say, so he tells them about how great he got on in his exams. Max and Steph are stunned at how well he did as they thought he'd failed. Steph goes round to hug Boyd while Max is playing it cool as he holds Charlie and Boyd takes this to mean that Max doesn't care. Max tells Boyd that he is proud of him but another issue has come up.
BOYD: What? The fact that I'm married? That I'm happy and it drives you crazy?
Boyd and Janae then go to leave and Steph gives Max the ‘evil eye' but he says that he knows what he saw.
Lou comes of the phone from talking to the telephone chipmunk aka Mishka and tells Harold that she is back in Russia…with her husband – he's been released from exile and wants her back. He also confirms that the goons who came were working for Igor. Lou then shocks Harold by telling him that he wants to go to Russia because he doesn't want to lose her. Harold points out that Igor is her husband by law.
LOU: And I'm just the old fool that bought the story?
Harold quickly replies that isn't the case and after Lou tells him that Mishka is talking to her son, adds that him turning up out of the blue isn't going to help them. Lou sadly admits that Mishka wanted to go.
Susan and Karl arrive and she likes the surroundings and teases him for actually splashing out the cash on somewhere decent. As they walk on, Stinger and Rachel exit from the building with Rachel too going on about how amazing the place is especially as they can act like a couple without having to be careful!
As they walk through the roses Susan also admits that it is great being able to act as a couple without having to be careful! Just as they head into a row of roses to pash, Rachel and Stinger come down the other one hand in hand blissfully ignorant about who was heading up the other row.
Susan asks Karl how long their pampering sessions are going to be as they walk closely together outside along a path while inside Stingray and Rachel hand over a piece of paper to an employee before moving on…just as Karl and Susan arrive to where they were seconds ago.
The General Store
While Boyd sits studying with his headphones on, Max admits to Steph that he can't tell Boyd about what he saw even if he feels that Boyd should know what his wife was doing. Steph reminds Max that the magic word is ‘if' [Janae is up to something]. Max then tries to get Steph to talk to Boyd because he doesn't think that Boyd will listen to him and will think he has it in for him. Steph isn't keen at all on being the one to tell Boyd either but after Max pleads with her, she reluctantly hands Charlie over to him and goes to talk to him.
Bree gives a false reference to the guy that Janae was with earlier – that Boyd and Janae would make great tenants! That guy must be so blind then if he can't tell that Janae is actually under 18 instead of over 18 and that a child has just given someone a reference while pretending to be Janae's employer!
Janae is overjoyed at Bree giving the reference as Boyd is going to be so pleased that they have their own place.
The General Store
Steph tells Boyd about what Max saw and wonders if Janae said anything to him. Boyd seems stunned at what Steph has just told him and is oblivious as to what Janae was up to.
Janae confirms Bree's question, that Boyd didn't know she was house hunting. Bree then asks the obvious question the viewers are asking – how can they afford it and Janae replies back that it is a renters market and that the guy showing them around (Thomas) responds to a bit of flirting. “You are out of control,” says Bree but Janae doesn't think so as she is just pleased that Boyd will love what she has done.
The General Store
Boyd wants Steph to confirm that Janae was cheating but she reiterates that she is just passing on what Max saw because he thought his son would want to know.
Harold returns with some news for Lou – a copy of an email she sent her son that he had translated, which says that Lou is a most wonderful man and that she wanted to start a relationship with him. He then points out the obvious to Lou that why would she write this email to her estranged son about how deep she cares for him if it wasn't genuine? Lou is trying to play it cool and not trying to get his hopes up and thinks it could be part of a plot but Harold assures him that there isn't a plot going on and urges him not to blow it all by coming up with some crazy conspiracy theory.
The General Store
Janae tells Boyd that she isn't cheating on him and explains to him why she skived off school – it was meant to be a surprise but she was trying to rent them a house and that the guy Max saw her with was the real estate vendor. Boyd feels a bit silly then is annoyed at his dad jumping to conclusions and decides that he wants to pay his dad a personal visit. Before they leave the store though, Bree pipes up that they could teach Max a lesson – pretend that Janae is having an affair and that Boyd knows nothing at all about it.
BOYD: He'll hate it.
(Summariser note – and this is meant to convince Max that the pair of them are in a serious mature relationship?!)
Bree tells them what to tell Max, that Janae was on a school excursion and to do a good job convincing Max and speak of the devil, Max walks into TGS.
Max cautiously asks if everything is okay and Boyd confirms that everything is great and that Janae has explained to him everything that went on, that Janae was on an excursion to West Warratah. Max doesn't exactly believe his son, especially when Boyd says she was doing a biology experiment.
Rachel is nervously looking forward to the massage that she is about to have because she hasn't had one before and asks Stinger if he's had one. He replies no but is sure he will love it before going to sit opposite her and asking if she is getting the picture now that she is the only girl in his life? She nods her head before Stinger jokes with her that he is going to get his beauty treatment – his back waxed, his eyes plucked and his bikini line done. This cheers her up and he kisses her goodbye before he heads into the male room for his massage…just as Karl escorts Susan into the same room Rachel is in! They kiss each other goodbye and as Susan sits on her table the camera pans to Rachel…who is lying, eyes closed with her headphones on, both oblivious as to how close they are to each other without knowing.
