Recap
Stinger telling Rachel that they should keep their relationship quiet so nobody can break them apart.
Ned agreeing to let Boyd & Janae stay on longer as long as Toadie agrees.
Mishka suggesting to Sky that she is pregnant.
No. 24
Sky dismisses Mishka's suggestion that she is pregnant because she isn't that sort of girl and always takes precautions. Mishka then suggests that they do a Russian test to confirm but Sky refuses because she isn't pregnant. Lou arrives home and picks up on the atmosphere but Mishka covers up nicely.
No. 26
Stinger wonders how they are going to manage to keep their relationship a secret and Rachel suggests a staged fight to put Susan off the scent. He isn't too keen because it would mean lying to Susan but Rachel points out that they are currently doing that. She becomes despondent over what will happen if she can't see him and he has similar feelings. Rachel then tells him that she has to get home before Susan notices and he begs her not to leave but relents as long as she promises to call him later on once Susan has gone to bed.
They share a long kiss on the lips (not a pash) before she leaves and Stinger does a happy daft dance.
No. 30
At the front door, Max gives Toadie money to cover Boyd & Janae's rent for the next couple of weeks. Toadie takes it gladly and agrees to Max's request to keep quiet before telling him to leave because Boyd will be home soon. He enters the house and we find Boyd studying hard in the livingroom! Boyd enquires who he was talking too as he heard voices but Toadie lies and says he was talking to a distant rellie on the phone.
Boyd hands Toadie over some money as part of their board and promises to get the rest to him later on in the week. Janae enters the livingroom just as Toadie sits down in the middle of it and with his hands held out like he is doing an imitation of an Egyptian, waits for Boyd and Janae to place the remote control and a bottle of beer into his hands.
Janae tells them that she has come up with a recipe for their meal tonight but before she can tell him what it is, he tells them what will be on the dinner menu - cheese toasties! Janae tries to point out that they had that last night but he is insistent that is what they are having and she dutifully goes to make them.
Boyd tries to tell Toadie that Janae was looking forward to cooking the meal and had started to prep up for it already but Toadie reminds him how much of favour he is doing by letting them stay. Boyd turns on the charm and just about grovels to ask if they can stay on longer and Toadie *begrudgingly* agrees to the request and tells that they need to work harder around the house too...and after Boyd agrees, Toadie gives him his first task despite Boyd saying that he has to study - massaging his feet!
Ramsay Street
When Susan drives home, Rachel and Stinger decide to put their staged fight plan into action. Rachel collects the mail and Susan asks if there is anything other than bills, there isn't, and Stinger comes over to angrily hand back a package that she left at No. 26 on the pretence that she wants to see him. They start spouting off at each other and Susan is a bit mystified as to what is going on, not realising of course that it is all a game. To make it even more convincing, Rachel storms off crying.
No. 28
Susan comforts Rachel as she cries and Susan asks what is wrong. Rachel explains that Stinger is immature...and that she doesn't have to worry about them being together anymore. But as Rachel continues to cry to keep up the pretence Susan is beginning to smell a rat...a big rat.
No. 24
Lou catches Mishka taking a shot of the 997 vodka and reminds her that Harold will chuck them out but she thinks that they are safe because Harold is off camping with the band. Mishka thinks otherwise and indeed tells Lou that Harold will soon realise what a good friend he has been to Harold and will be begging Lou to stay. Lou wants to know what she is up to but she clams up, so he reminds her that Harold isn't a pushover.
MISHKA: I fix with pawn scum Paul yes.
LOU: Yes.
MISHKA: So I fix with Harold. Any fish is good if is on the hook.
LOU: Old Russian saying?
MISHKA: Of course.
Sky comes back in and shows Mishka what she has bought - a home pregnancy kit. Mishka queries why she is even buying it since Sky was so sure, so Sky explains that her (menstrual) cycle has been all over the place and wants to know if it is because of the stress of her break up from Dylan...or not.
SKY: Mishka, what if I am pregnant?
During the break, Sky has done the test and the result is negative, she isn't pregnant. She breaths a huge sigh of relief and confirms to Mishka that it is a fantastic result as she wouldn't have known what to do if it had been positive. Mishka asks if it would be so bad to have a baby and Sky replies yes, because she is only 18 and not ready to be a parent.
MISHKA: Eighteen is a woman. It's adult.
Sky says that perhaps 18 in Russia is a good age but not in Australia. Mishka tells her about her own child and hugging Sky, tells her that she isn't leaving.
Scarlet Bar
Lou reminds Mishka that it is Harold that calls the shots, not Sky and wants to know what she is scheming up. She tells him that she has planned for someone from the Russian club to break into house, Lou will catch them and Sky will tell Harold what a great thing Lou did and so Harold will let them stay.
LOU: What kind of a woman are you?
MISHKA: A Russian kind.
Max questions Boyd when he buys some beer since he has studying to do but Boyd explains that the beer is actually for Toadie and rejects his dad's offer of brain food as he's already eaten before leaving. Susan takes his place at the bar and asks Max if he too hates it when the kids get the better of them. Max agrees then adds that the reality check he had for Boyd has fallen through and that he is coping fine unlike him.
Max leaves and gets Stinger to serve Susan and she asks for a bottle of wine. He takes the opportunity to build on what happened earlier but Susan is ready for him by telling him that since Rachel is unhappy, she is thinking seriously about moving to Shepparton! Stinger decides he can hear Max shouting and leaves.
Scarlet Bar/No. 30
He heads straight into the office where he quickly calls Rachel to tell her that Susan is onto them.
RACHEL: How do you know?
STINGER: Are you moving to Shepparton?
RACHEL: Ah no. I mean we are going up for a weekend next month.
STINGER: Mother of pearl she's a ninja.
RACHEL: ARGH
NinjaSusan has arrived back in Ramsay Street quicker than you can say Jim Robinson.
NINJASUSAN: You're jumpy. Done your homework?
RACHEL: Almost.
NINJASUSAN: Good.
Rachel tells Stinger that Susan is home.
STINGER: What?! That's impossible. She was just here.
RACHEL: Super human ninja!
No. 24
While Mishka and Lou lie in wait for their 'robber' wondering where Mikhail is, they hear someone breaking a window in the utility room. Mishka explains that it is part of the gameplan and as the robber does what comes naturally to burglars, she sends Lou from their hiding place to apprehend the burglar.
Lou switches on the light and tells the burglar that he has been caught red handed as Sky comes out realising that a robber is in progress. Lou does the tough guy routine and tells the burglar to drop the bag but he tries to get away but Lou is onto him pronto and apprehends him. The burglar explains that he only broke in to get money for a hearing aid.
Sky tells Lou to be careful while Mishka says the opposite, for him to show the burglar who is the boss! Sky goes to phone the police and the guy breaks free from the hold that Lou has had him in and knocks Sky over in his rush to get out of the house, sending her flying into the sofa. Lou rushes after him while Mishka rushes over to Sky to see if she is okay. Sky confirms that she is okay as a breathless Lou comes back in to say that the burglar got away and to check on how the ladies are doing, Sky especially. Again, Sky confirms that she is okay and Mishka starts bumming up Lou and his role in protecting them from the burglar.
SKY: You wait 'til granddad hears this. He will be very impressed.
No. 30
Janae starts to pack up the ironing board and Toadie wonders why since she still has his boxers and hankies to iron! She point blakely refuses to do them so he subtly reminds her that there was a shortfall with the rent, so she sets up the ironing board again. Boyd enters the livingroom ready to do some studying but Toadie reminds him that the World Cup is on and that it can't be missed, then holds out of the two beers for Boyd, basically giving Boyd no option but not to study just as Janae comes back in with a basketful of Toadies undies.
JANAE: Um Toadie, are you sure these are even clean?
TOADIE: Ironing kills the germs.
Janae spots Boyd is sitting watching the footy drinking a beer and reminds him that he has an exam in the morning. Boyd tells her that he has been studying all day and quotes what Toadie said, that TWC only comes round once every four years. "And your medical degree only comes around once in a lifetime," replies Janae. Boyd promises to study after the footy has finished.
JANAE: Boyd!
TOADIE: Stop nagging woman.
JANAE: Nagging. Am I the only grown up in this stupid house?
Toadie's reply is to tell her to make some more cheese toasties including one for Bob because watching football makes him hungry and besides Boyd will need sustenance for studying all night. Janae is not impressed!
JANAE: I never thought I'd miss vegetables.
No. 24
Lou gets up in the middle of the night to answer the door despite Mishka telling him not to because they don't know who is there. Lou decides to shout out who is there and Mikhail replies that it is him, so Lou opens the door. Mikhail comes in and apologises for being late to burgle the house! Mishka tells him that his timing was right and congratulates him on his performance but scolds him for knocking over Sky. Mikhail asks to borrow some panty hose (tights to those in the UK) to cover his face with along with a ladder to reach the window and Lou remarks that he doesn't need to do the robbery again and that it isn't good to return to the scene of a crime either.
MIKAIL: Return?
LOU: Yes return, meaning come back. Do again.
Mikhail then says that he hasn't been here before, and then it dawns on them that he wasn't the original robber! Both are shocked but Mishka thinks of the positives - it makes Lou look like a bigger hero!
Sky comes out of her room clutching her stomach and tells them that she isn't feeling well. Mishka goes to make her some ginger tea and Sky confesses that perhaps the knock was worse than she thought. Lou and Mikhail guide her over to the couch but as they make their way, Sky collapses but Lou quickly grabs her and suggests that they get her to the hospital pronto.
Hospital
Lou and Mishka apologise for planning the robbery which actually turned into a robbery that they didn't plan but Sky tells them that it was fortunate that they were prepared or the real robber would have got away with all their stuff. Dr Olenski comes in and Mishka sends Mikhail home before Olenski tells them what is wrong with Sky.
DR OLENSKI: Your iron levels are very low which is not uncommon in the first trimester.
SKY: The first what!
They all put 2+2 together and come up with Sky being pregnant and Olenski confirms that the symptoms Sky has been having of late are those of someone who is pregnant.
DR OLENSKI: I thought you knew. Sky you're pregnant.
SKY:
No. 26
Stinger and Rachel are up extremely late (3am) watching movies and he says that he should get her home but she is rather reluctant to go but eventually does and leaves after they kiss each other goodbye.
Hospital
Dr Olenski gives a teary Sky reasons why the home pregnancy test may not have given a positive result. Sky is still in denial as she always took precautions, and Olenski reminds her that accidents can and do happen and that no contraception is 100% safe. Olenski hands Sky some tissues and tells her that she is several weeks pregnant. Sky shakes her head while crying.
Ramsay Street (next day)
Janae washes Toadies car in the driveway and Max catches his attention as he heads towards it, to see how Boyd and Janae are going. Toadie confirms that they are fine but lies to suggest that they are eating him out of house and home when Max enquires. Max mentions that Boyd knocked back free steak last night so Toadie insists that Max make Boyd take it in future...because someone will eat it! I wonder who! He reminds Toadie that he is having trouble making Boyd do anything lately but so Max hands over some more money to him because he is feeling guilty at Toadie being out of pocket. This on top of what he paid yesterday and what Boyd gave too. Nasty Toadie!
MAX: Hey, thanks for putting them up.
TOADIE: What can I say? I'm a soft touch.
Toadie reaches his car and compliments Janae on the good job she has done washing it. Janae mentions that she is going to do some shopping and can she get him anything so he hands her the money Max gave her...as pocket money! She is a bit mystified but takes the money.
TOADIE: (patting Janae on the head) You're a good little house help aren't you!
Over at No. 28, a very sleepy Rachel helps Susan with the gardening. Susan comments that she looks exhausted and suggests that she go back to bed to get some sleep but Rachel rejects the offer.
SUSAN: Anything on your mind?
RACHEL: No.
RACHEL'S MIND: Yes. I'm in love with Stingray and I want to shout it to the whole street.
Stingray then approaches them.
SUSAN: Morning Stingray.
STINGER: Hey Suse. Going to be a good day eh?
SUSAN: It's going to be a lovely day.
SUSAN'S MIND: Like you'd even notice.
STINGER'S MIND: Don't look into her eyes. Don't look at Rach either. She's so cute you'll give the game away.
(Rachel is lovingly looking at him)
STINGER: ...Well cop ya.
(Rachel is still lovingly looking at him)
RACHEL'S MIND: Oh my god. I love it when he says that. He's so cool.
STINGER'S MIND: She's so beautiful. Just turn around and scoot away, the ninja's watching.
SUSAN'S MIND: (staring at Stinger) I know what you are both thinking.
(Stinger suddenly stops smiling)
STINGER'S MIND & RACHEL'S MIND: (simultaneously) Ninja powers!
Stinger suddenly retreats and Rachel goes back to gardening at 'hearing' Susan!
No. 24
Mishka consoles Sky and assures her that everything will be okay. Sky can't see that and tells her that she isn't ready to be a parent. Lou tells her that they will support her in whatever she chooses to do.
SKY: I can't do this. I can't.
Mishka suggests that she talk to Dylan about this since it is his baby too and Lou adds that he would surely like to know. Sky hesitantly then admits that she can't tell the father because she isn't sure who that is.
