Recap

- Angie and Janelle prepare for their boxing match
- Karl tells Steph her cancer has spread
Steph's Hospital Room
Lynnie squeals about the flowers - she missed her true calling in life! Steph is worried about the expense but Lyn will spoil her daughter if she jolly well wants to. Steph's clearly in some discomfort but she thinks it's just Charlie, doing his gymnastics.
Boyd comes in and wonders how Steph's doing - she tells him she's not bad but he exchanges a worried look with Lyn. Lyn goes to get coffee and Boyd tells Steph that Max called that morning - it doesn't look like he's going to be coming home anytime soon as Summer can't fly until the rash from the fever has cleared up. Naturally, Max wants to fly back with his daughter. Steph smiles, thinking he should want to bring Sum home himself. Boyd made up an excuse about for her to explain her not being home and said she was fine. He didn't have the three spare days required to tell him how much Steph misses Max, though...Boyd asks if there's anything he can get her and Steph looks thoughtful: she wants a video camera.
Number 26
Boyd is clearly preoccupied about finding a camera for Steph. Janae gives him permission to borrow Stinger's one. Janae asks what it's for but Boyd doesn't know. He admits to her that Steph's not doing as good as she's making out. He has to stay strong for her as there's no one else here apart from him. He really wishes Max was here (don't we all...). Janae reminds him that he has her and she'll support him in anyway she can. He thanks her and takes her into a hug.
General Store
In a very empty GS Harold thanks Angie for helping out and admits he won't be able to pay her this week. Angie reminds him that he didn't pay her last week either but she doesn't mind - he's a good Christian man.
Janelle comes in, jogging on the spot. Harold is takenaback by Janelle's fighting talk and hopes her daughters won't pick up her bad habits. Janae comes in - Janelle's new trainer.
Erinsborough Hospital - The Corridor
Susan's been spending so much time at EH lately that she should get a rebate on the parking! Karl tells her that he and Jenny are having coffee next week and thanks her for the shove.
SUSAN: Oh, a gentle push.
KARL: I've still got the bruises!
They smile nicely at each other and you so know they belong together. Their conversation is rudely cut short by Karl's page.
Lyn comes in and wonders what Susan's doing here - maybe she shouldn't pop into see Steph. Susan's worried something's happened. Lyn retorts that she seems to know all the secrets! Susan asks what she was meant to do - Steph confided in her. Lyn would've done what any mother would've done and told her! Susan reminds her that Steph isn't a kid and she had to respect her wishes. Lynnie wants her to respect her wishes - she's sick of being the last to know (just like two and half years ago), and, while she understands about Karl not being able to tell her, Susan is meant to be her friend: she had no excuse!
Number 26
Janelle isn't doing well with her fitness regime and Janae is doing her best to keep her on track. Kim comes in and tells Janelle that he's made $300 profit this week - the biggest profit he's made since taking over the cart. Although disappointed that it isn't more, Janelle brushes her feelings off and congratulates Kim on 'doing good'.
Erinsborough Hospital - Steph's Room
Boyd sets up the camera for Steph. Steph thanks him and apologises for snapping at him earlier on when he asked about what the camera was for. Boyd knows not to ask questions now. Steph shakes her head, tells him she has her reasons. She's lazy - wanted to record a few things without the effort of writing them down.
BOYD: Just 'cause you lay around in bed all day doesn't mean you're lazy.
Boyd decides to leave her to it. She thanks him and pulls him into a hug - he holds onto her tightly, then goes.
Steph starts to tape: she smiles and tells Charlie that it's his mum, but decides she wants to do it again.
STEPH: It's your mummy. There's so many things I want to say to you so I'll just - I'll just start with the most important things. I love you more than I ever thought possible.
Lucinda's
Lyn arrives late. Paul understands she has priorities and was only going to ask about Step, not lay into her about her timekeeping. He offers his help: financial assistance or time off or something. Lyn just wants to be kept busy and Paul has a few errands for her that'll do just that. In among everything is something for Harold. Paul smiles to himself as we're treated to some more of the funky background music.
Lassiter's
Kim is selling a hotdog to a gentleman extra who has an impressive beard. Janelle appears as the bearded man leaves: she's been spying and isn't happy to hear Kimbo's not making that much money. And they find they can't cut costs on that easy. Janelle tells him not to give up:
JANELLE: What about that guy who started up Maccas? What was his name?
KIM: Ronald McDonald?
He just has to put in the hard yards to start with. Like pretending people are getting something for nothing, like free sauce and napkins. Kim isn't convinced.
Janae appears with a mannequin Janelle can use to practise her punches on. She orders her mum to 'drop and give me twenty!' Janelle does just that.
Erinsborough Hospital - Steph's Room
Still taping her message to Charlie, Steph is on the verge of tears.
STEPH: And I just want you to have a wonderful life, okay? I love you so much, Charlie.
She smiles and blows him a kiss.
Karl comes in just as she switches it off and is sorry to have barged in on her: he was going to do a CTG but she's already had one. He wants to make sure she's right on track to start the treatment as soon as Charlie's delivered.
STEPH: There go my plans for an overseas holiday.
General Store
Susan spots Lyn but Lyn won't talk to her. Harold asks about Steph - he was going to drop in and Lyn thinks she'd love the visit. She gives him the letter from Paul. Harold is not happy: it's an eviction notice! He has two weeks to pay up or Paul will shut the shop! Lyn is sorry but Harold thinks that, as she works for the man she must have psychic powers had some idea and could have warned him.
Erinsborough Hospital - Steph's Room
Steph's doing better than Karl expected. Steph thinks it's all the attention she's getting - his other patients must be jealous!
KARL: Oh, they can go hang! I like you best!
Charlie is doing brilliantly. Steph can't believe the ultrasound - looks so much like a real baby! Karl laughs with her about it. He says Charlie's one of the healthiest babies he's seen and (Steph knows what's coming) he really thinks he could be delivered now with minimal risk.
KARL: You could be holding your baby within the hour.
Erinsborough Hospital - Steph's Room
She asks if he would advise this is she was healthy: Karl admits he wouldn't, unless the baby was under duress. Karl can't win. Steph wants to wait the full thirty-six weeks, which is still a week to ten days away. She thinks it isn't a big deal, although Karl believes otherwise. Steph knows it'll make a big difference to Charlie. Karl agrees to her wishes.
KARL: You're a remarkable woman, Stephanie Hoyland. You're stubborn, you're infuriating but you are remarkable.
STEPH: Glad to hear you say it. You should get Janelle to write a book about me.
KARL: Charlie's a lucky boy. I have no doubt with you as a mother he will lead an amazing life.
Lucinda's
Lynnie isn't best pleased with Paul - she felt like a traitor! She wouldn't have delivered the letter if she'd known. Paul says that's business and he needs it to be done. Lyn says he can get someone else next time. Paul reminds her that he took her on when no one else would give her a chance. Lyn appreciates it. Paul tells her to remember who pays the wages - next time she can do what he asks, without the song and dance. He lets her have the rest of the day off so she can go to Steph.
Number 26
Janelle tries out her punches on the dummy/mannequin thingy. Janae puts a photo of Angie on the dummy and Janelle gets on a roll, throwing punches. They're distracted by a thudding noise coming from outside.
Ramsay Street
Janelle and Janae discover Angie practicing her punching on a punch bag, to their obvious astonishment.
Erinsborough Hospital - Steph's Room
Boyd is trying to convince Steph to think about giving birth early, but Steph won't - if something went wrong, she'd give up the fight. Boyd thinks she might have done that already. Next time Max calls he's telling him the truth. Steph pleads with him not bail on her - if she had the baby before Max came home she'd never hear the end of it!
BOYD: At least he'd be coming home to a child and a wife!
She says she's doing the right thing and Boyd lets out a long sigh. She needs another favour from him - she needs him to take the tape she made and put it in the box of stuff Charlie won't need until he's older in Charlie's room. If anything happens then he'll know what to do. He asks what it is but she says it's just something little for Charlie and asks him again to, please, do it for her.
Erinsborough Hospital
Kim and his Dyl Dogs cart are in the hospital - that man gets everywhere! Karl tells him there's no way he's selling such unhealthy food on these premises.
Lyn comes in and Susan, sitting by the door with some flowers, catches her. Susan apologises and says she should've told her the minute she knew about Steph. She's truly sorry about the mistake she made. Karl looks on. Susan knows Lyn could use a friend now and she'd like to reapply. Lyn tells her to come with her, saying Steph will love the flowers. Karl watches them go, then smiles a little to himself.
Number 32 - Front Yard
Boyd's in tears as he watches Steph's video message to Charlie:
STEPH: Boyd...wow, what can I say, except you really hit the jackpot with him. I don't think I could've chosen a better big brother. He's everything you could want. So, if you ever need someone to go into a fight with you, Boyd will always be there, okay? He's loving and he's kind and he's really responsible. And he rides a pretty mean skateboard too - if you ask him nicely he might even be able to teach you. Just make sure you're wearing a helmet, okay?
Janae appears and Boyd switches the video off, trying to cover up his tears. She realises what it might be and Boyd tells her about the message for Charlie.
BOYD: It's like she's not going to be around to watch him grow up. It's like she knows she's gonna die.
He dissolves into more sobs and Janae pulls him close.
