Stingray informing Susan of his plan to hide Janae away from Mike
Boyd awaking out of his coma to his grandfather's face
Gabby not wanting to take advantage of Harold
Max telling Bobby to stay…but then get lost
Steph and Bobby have a bit of a talk…though Steph reckons it's something he needs to talk to Max about. Bobby agrees, it's an emotional time for him and things could not be tougher. Summer comes out of Boyd's room and rudely has a dollar pulled from her ear. Yes, Grandad Bobby can do magic tricks. Aww, Summer missed him so much. Max also pokes his head out and asks Steph to come in, while Summer and her grandfather merrily walk off to grab some drinks.
Janae (wearing pink ugh boots) gets off the phone and announces to Dylan that “Scotty is barbequed!” She can't believe he made Mike believe he was stood up…Janae wants it out, but Dylan stops her. He was only looking out for ya, see. Dylan sprouts some brotherly advice – guys like Mike use you, then lose you – Stinger was doing her a favour. Janae spits back out at least she's got a boyfriend…unlike him who is lusting after somebody who is taken. Dylan has no comeback (as it's true, hehe) so here merely switches the channels. Janae storms up to grab the remote and switches it back.
The General Store
Harold sees the last employee off, as Gabby aka. NotKerry leaps up – wanting to help clean up. He shushes her, dinner was a thank you for helping him with David. Although…he does have another reason for bringing her here…nothing dodgy! He wants to pay for a ticket so she can see her father in Darwin. Gabby of course can't accept it, but relents when Harold plays the ticket down as a loan.
Boyd's Hospital Room
Summer recalls the story of how David was arrested (“there were cops EVERYWHERE!!”) and how Lil is now living with Susan. Boyd thanks his grandad for visiting him, like everyone else had but Bobby won't be called grandad!
BOBBY: Enough of the grandad, it makes me feel 100!
Alas, he is now Bobby to all. Max (party pooper or concerned dad) breaks up the party, as Boyd needs his rest. They all leave, but will see him tomorrow!
Sky bounces off to tell Harry about Boyd's miraculous recovery. Izzy announces they need a celebration! Oh, but Bobby can't really make it…he needs to check into a hotel. Izzy insists that it's a family celebration which they can have at home…but alas, it's not his choice and pointedly looks at Max. Max relents, and Bobby promises to stay for one drink. Hurrah! Izzy, Summer and Bobby happily leave together, leaving Steph and Max a bit of a moment. She soothes it'll only be one drink, it can't be that bad? …
Bobby reminisces in vivid detail the magical surroundings of the dawn of the jungle. Miles of calm and as the sun came up over the horizon, it lit up like it was on fire. The air was all steamy…gradually, all the birds came out, swarms of butterflies fluttered about and the monkey's called to each other. Everyone is amazed…he continues how they were all just gobsmacked themselves, the wonder of mother nature. Well, all of them except for one American (Bobby donning an American accent) who wasn't so amazed. Izzy and Summer want to go next time, though soon change their mind when they here snakes lie all around, or the spiders as big as their his fist. Bobby leaves to get another drink…offering Max another one which he half-heartedly agrees to.
The General Store
Sky comes rushing in, all excited to tell Harry about her news. But he beats her to it, though before he can introduce Gabby, she walks out. “Mum?” sputters Sky. Nevertheless to say, all are shocked.
Later at the General Store
They all sit, Sky just staring at not-dead-mother, I mean Gabby. Harry apologies for not informing her, or at least warning her about Gabby. Gabby wants to go, but Sky apologies. She's just overwhelmed with everything which has happened, but wants her to stay.
Mike's being his usual jerk self, as Janae promises she only needs a second to get her bag. He's not hanging around though! She goes anyway and Mikey boy saunters over to Dylan, trying to be oh-so cool when he tells of his weekend coast plans. Surfing, bush bashing with the bikes. Oh yeah, anything could go down, what happens at the coast, stays at the coast. There's no one there to stop ‘em! Dylan is less than responsive (“sounds hard core”), he knows the score…back in Colac, they had their fair share of city folks and their exciting plans. “Oooh so edgy.” He death stares him.
Steph convinces a sleepy Summer it's time for bed when Izzy asks Bobby how long he's staying. He's not sure…but long enough to take his favourite girl for breakfast! Max declines their invite, he's gotta visit Boyd. He then pops off to grab a pillow and blanket, ignoring the fact that Boyd's bed is free. Bobby insists to Izzy it's fine and they finish their drinks.
The General Store
It's late when Gabby leaves, but Sky reckons it's fine. It's not like she can sleep after her day! Harold reminds Gabby about tomorrow and her Darwin ticket before she goes. Sky is still in her dazed state, but didn't mind. She was lovely, it's not her fault she looks like Kerry and shouldn't let that ruin a friendship. Harry apologies nevertheless, after what happened with David and Lou…Sky tells her grandad she's always wondered what it'd be like if her mother were alive, and after tonight after them laughing and talking…it's almost like it was real.
It's all bustle at the Hoyland's, as Izzy promises her father a good breakfast at the bar. All the food that he loves. Bobby grins, she sure does know a way to a man's heart… they leave with Summer, giving Steph and Max a chance to finally talk.
STEPH: So what's the real story?
MAX: It's nothing.
STEPH: What, it's obviously something
MAX: Can we just drop it?
STEPH: Well if you think it'll help…..Did Bobby hit you when you were little or something.
MAX: What? No no, it's nothing like that.
STEPH: Well, I mean as far as far as I can see. He's charming and entertaining and Summer and Izzy adore him. So, what's the problem?
MAX: The problem is, it doesn't last. Yeah my dad is all charm. When things get tough we won't even get a postcard. He wasn't there when we were kids and he won't be there now. So yeah, enjoy him while you can Steph, just remember it's gonna me picking up the pieces when he takes off.
Outside The General Store
Sky's still on a high about meeting Gabby, as she compares photographs of the two. She thinks meeting her…it happened for a reason. She believes they've got the same sort of personalities, happy and generous…though Harry disagrees, they're nothing alike, as no two people are identical. Her mother was a free spirit…fighting causes for the down trodden. Sky agrees, she was a good person, like Gabby! He changes the subject, asking if she'd like to be picked up to see Boyd after school and she agrees. She is excited too, ‘cause she'll finally get to show Boyd her mother's clone! Harold looks a bit worried.
Outside Scarlet Bar
Izzy and Bobby stroll around the outside of the bar as she informs him of the idea to build the bar around the palm tree. It gives it a tropical theme. Thing are great, except for staff issues…thus she'll be flat out but will try to spend as much time with him as she can. He in turn springs a surprise – he can spend time with her, giving her a hand! He's decided to spend some time here. Izzy breaks out into a huge grin and gives Bobby a hug.
Boyd's Hospital Room
Max presents a gift from Stu – the alien jammies. They laugh that they're not exactly built for comfort…Max then gets serious, he is sorry he wasn't there for Boyd. As when he first came back, he promised he'd never leave again. Boyd shrugs it off, they had Steph and besides he's good at keeping secrets. He did some stupid things…things he could he could hide. Max still insists he should have been there but agrees to disagree about it with Boyd. Father and son exchange their “I love you's”, it's a nice scene.
Harold sees Sky and Gabby laughing together, before they spot him. Gabby's been showing Sky all their work. Sky says they make a great team…Harold's a bit iffy about her being here, wasn't she going to be with Boyd? She was…but he didn't pick her up, it's okay though and she leaves to see him now. Gabby compliments Harry on Sky for being a remarkable person, despite the upbringing she has had. Harold hints they could go pick up her tickets, but she announces she has an interview for at job at Eden Hills next week. She's a bit vague about it when finally Harold calls her on not wanting to go.
HAROLD: Gabby, I thought it was important to you to make things right with your father.
GABBY: It is. But things have changed. I mean, since I've met you and now Sky…
HAROLD: Gabby no! I'm not your father.
GABBY: I know, but you're everything that I want in a dad. And I'm afraid that if I go to Darwin, I won't only be disappointed, I'll lose everything we have here.
Erinsborough High Dance
Mike hands Janae an OJ and announces how bored he is, though she's having fun. She can make it up to her though and gesture to Jimmo. Jimmo is having problems with his girlfriend and Mike promised Janae would pash him in order to make Jimmo's girlfriend jealous. Janae won't have a bar of it, who does he think she is? Mikey whispers his opinion, which was obviously rude. She dumps her OJ on him and storms off…bumping into a mysterious man, none other than creepy Chris Cousens. He puts the old moves on her, she looks familiar? Is she a model? He works in the business, so he must have seen her on a fashion thing. Janae is flattered.
Gabby helps Harold clean up the dishes, as she talks about all the great happy memories he must have with his family here. He agrees, but Gabby must have some with her dad too. While the support and friendship they have had has meant a lot, it's important she go back to Darwin. Every day she stays here, it's another day she is kept from where she really belongs. A second chance with her dad. Sky happily skips in, surprised to see Gabby here. She wants her to come into the hospital to meet Boyd tomorrow…but Gabby apologies, she can't make it. She's flying to Darwin for a second chance but was so pleased to meet Sky. They can perhaps spend more time together next time. They hug.
Erinsborough High Dance
Those crazy kids are a dancing away, when Chris moves through the crowd with two cups of OJ, one for the “beautiful lady”. Janae takes it with no reservation, though she's a bit grossed out by the taste. Time lapses and Janae is not sitting down, somewhat disorientated as she clumsily drops her OJ. Chris says it's pretty hot in here and they should get some fresh air. She tries to stand, but fails miserably. Chris helps her up…
