Park
Sindi is jogging, and runs into Libby, fresh from her encounters from Alessandro the night before. Sindi realises that Libby hasn't come home the previous night and tries to drag Libby off to the Coffee Shop for "Coffee, Muffins and full gory details". Libby protests that she is still in last nights clothes, but Sindi says she can either "have this interrogation now, or at home in front of her mother" and Libby reluctantly goes with her.
The Coffee Shop
Libby is sounding regretful, wondering what she was doing having a one-night stand with a guy she had only met that day. Sindi is very encouraging, saying there are many woman who would love to be in her shoes, but Libby says she couldn't stop thinking about Darren, and she felt like she was being unfaithful to him. Sindi tells her to stop "living like a Nun" and she needs some human contact. Ultimately she has to move on. Libby says she tried, "but it made her feel worse."
No.30
Connor and Carmella are on the couch together, when Sindi comes in and hands Carmella her article. Carmella reads out the title, and Sindi says she's not too sure about it, so Carmella tells her to get it back to her when she's finished. Sindi is pleased to tell her that it is finished despite it not being in for another two days. Connor is shocked when Sindi checks that it was meant to be 6000 words.
Toadie walks in and Connor not-so-subtly gets Sindi and Carmella to go and have coffee together in the kitchen so he can talk to Toadie. He says he's sick of all the tension between him and Stuart. Connor says he feels like 'a meditator'. Toadie corrects 'mediator' but says that Stuart went behind his back in his house with his girlfriend (which wasn't actually true as they kissed in the garage, but anyhow..) and that no amount of talking was going to sort that out. Connor asks if he could not get over it because he's blowing it out of proportion. Stuart walks in and Connor tells him Toadie has something to say.
Lassiter's Complex
Libby sees Karl's car parked near the coffee shop, and finds that Karl is sleeping in it. Karl jolts when he sees Libby at the window and then get in the car. (I would jolt too! Seeing someone at my window watching me sleep would scare me so much!) He asks Lib what time it is, and she says "early, or late, depending." Karl says he was working late in the surgery, and Libby says she'll treat him to breakfast as she is worried about him. Karl makes his excuses however, and says that they'll do breakfast another time, and goes to leave. Libby looks worried.
No.26 Garden
Caleb and Summer are clearing away fallen leaves and twigs for Lyn. Summer tells Caleb that they'll get 5 bucks an hour and hopefully more work after that, if they ask properly. Caleb states that that's nowhere near what his Dad used to make and Summer says "Welcome to the real world." Lyn comes out to check on how they are doing. Summer asks 'Nana Scully' if there are anymore jobs to be doing. Lyn reluctantly tells them that Caleb could mow Susans lawn, and Summer could help her dust. Summer wants to mow too, but Lyn tells her its tricky "Mens' work.
When she goes, Summer complains that Men get to have all the fun.
CALEB: You think so?
SUMMER: I know so!
CALEB: Maybe there's one way to find out.
Caleb has the traditional soap "I have an idea" face on.
No.28
Lyn and Susan are fantasising about Alessandro, in great detail. Libby sneaks in the door and listens for awhile, unseen. She then comes in as Lyn his suggesting that Susan should hang around The Coffee Shop, "as you never know who you might run into. Libby says hi to Ben, and apologises to Susan for springing babysitting on her and Susan asks after her girlfriend who she was supposedly helping out of a crisis. Libby lies that she was fine, but that her Dads more the worry and she saw Karl sleeping in his car. And that it smelt of alcohol. Susan goes to rush to his aid, and Lyn tries to talk her out of it. Susan says "I cant still be his friend".
No.30
Toadie is laying into Stuart, and he says he has already said sorry, there is nothing else he can do. Connor tells Toadie to stop punishing Stuart, like he did with the speakers. Toadie insists that Stuart broke them - it was his fault. Stuart brings up Travis too, which makes Toadie even angrier. Stuart goes to leave, saying it's a complete waste of time.
CONNOR: Shall I just put the 'For Sale' sign out the front now then? That's what's going to happen if you walk out now.
Stuart gives Toadie a proper apology, and Connor adds that it was meaningless, and stupid to throw away owning the house over that. Toadie seems to accept this and offers his hand in a truce. They shake to 'the house of trouser'.
The Coffee Shop (outside)
Caleb and Summer are sitting together, Summer wearing a yellow hoody and seemingly dressed as a boy. Caleb corrects her posture to a more slouchy one, and tells her to make her voice deeper. He tells her to behave in an opposite to ladylike way. Summer lets out a burp. Caleb then tells her to go and order a milkshake as a boy, and if she gets away with that they can go to the skate park.
Karl and Izzy's Flat
Susan pushes the slightly ajar door open, and calls for Karl. The flat is a bit messy. Susan goes to the phone and leaves a message on his answering machine for him to call her back as soon as possible, and as she is speaking she is picking jars of pills off the coffee table.
No.28
Sindi is doing Libby's nails, as she is one the phone to Allessandro, telling him she is busy that night. She also declines a trip to Sydney, saying that Ben needs her. She agrees that he can call her when she gets back and she will "see how she's placed", much to Sindi's amusement. Sindi says he loves her, and Libby jerks her hand away. Sindi thinks Libby should go for it as she could end up being taken to all the award ceremonies.
LIBBY: Didn't you hear what I said earlier?
SINDI: No I went straight to my happy place with all that dribble you were going on about.
Sindi opens the door to find flowers, and exclaims "See Libby, he does love you!" Libby wants to send them back, but Sindi opens the card for her, and finds they are from Darren.
Bar
Susan finds Karl and he drunkenly jokes that he can run but can't hide. Susan explains that she's just there for a drink with a friend "if that's ok?" Karl signals to the barman to get Susan a drink.
No.28
Libby is on the phone to Darren, with Sindi hovering in that background. She thanks for for the flowers, and then says goodbye. Sindi insists that Libby and Darren should be together (changing her tune from when she thought Libby should be with Allessandro earlier) but Libby thinks it may be too late. Libby then admits that he said he had been thinking about her and missing her. Sindi then excitedly tries to make Libby call him back ("he's trying to woo you!!") but she doesn't want to "because Ben needs stability, and I can't move him again". Sindi starts babbling about how they are meant to be together, like in Harry met Sally, and Libby looks a bit overwhelmed.
The Coffee Shop (Outside)
Caleb is congratulating Summer on convincing people she's a boy, and asks would she rather be a boy or a girl. Summer says boys her like animals, but Caleb teases her that she was really getting into that spitting competition. Lyn comes over and says she has more work for Caleb. "What about my friend.....Sammy?" He asks, and she agrees 'he' can help, humouring them
Bar
Susan asks about the sedatives she found, which Karl wearily insists they are samples from a drug company. Karl asks why did she asks, and she says it doesn't matter. He insists "that's the last thing I would do." and that he would never abandon Izzy. Susan makes the mistake of saying she can understand the pain he is going through. Karl snaps that she can't because she has never lost a child. Karl then apologises for taking it out on Susan, he feels like he has to be the strong one for Izzy. Susan says that he always used to be strong when he had to, after he says she was the strong one in their relationship. Karl says it was because of her. After a pause, Susan offers to drive him home.
Outside No.26
Lyn tries to tempt Caleb and 'Sammy' inside for dusting and cakes. Summer reveals herself, and Lyn acts surprised.
Pub
Sindi is already ordering at the bar, when Stuart, Connor and Toadie walk in with Carmella. Carmella gets a sock out and asks for 10,000 words on it, which Sindi greets with enthusiasm. Carmella asks her to let her know if she is pushing her to hard, that she doesn't want her writers buckling under pressure. Sindi tells her to drop the pretence, that she knows that she is being punished for Carmellas' parents divorce, but that she won't be broken.
SINDI: This job is an opportunity for me, and I tend to exploit it for all its worth, a bit like your exploiting me.
She then walks over to join the boys at the table. She kisses Toadie hello, which Stuart does look to happy about, and he gets up sharpish to go and get some menus. Connor follows him and tells him he made the right choice, and that seeing Toadie and him 'back together' really makes him happy. Connor then encourages Stuart to go and flirt with some girlies who are playing pool nearby.
No.30
Stuart is carrying two glasses of champagne bedroom-wards as Toadie and Sindi come in through the front door. Toadie jokes about a party being started, and Sindi says that she doesn't think they are invited, and drags him into the kitchen.
Connor and Carmella are on the sofa in the lounge. Carmella makes a comment about the Toadie/Sindi/Stuart triangle, and Connor says that at least they don't have to worry about that. Carmella then says they should take their relationship up to the next level. Connor then starts to lead her bedroom-wards, but she stopped him and told him she meant committement-wise. "Com-mit-ment?" Connor jokes like he has never heard the word before. Carmella replies that its time for him to meet her mother.
Karl and Izzy's Flat
Susan is encouraging him to shower and have a good nights sleep. Karl is still drunk and says he can't see a future, and that they made such a mess of things. He then says they should have done things differently, and starts stroking her face. She pushes him away.
SUSAN: SHUT UP! Look at you, you're pathetic.
KARL: Yeah, I am, aren't I?! I ruin everything I touch.
SUSAN: Oh stop it. This is exactly the same self-pitying rubbish that broke us up.. Look, I really want to help you out Karl, I do, but I'm not going to watch you throw everything away twice.
