Harold pleasantly surprised to hear Svetlanka tell him she has set her heart on him.
Lil wanting to talk about the disgrace she put on her family as a teenager.
Serena and Luka sneaking away from the Serbian youth night.
Erinsborough High (Serbian youth night)
Serena and Luka are about to kiss, but are interrupted by another young couple running away. Luka asks if there's somewhere they could go for a coffee.
Stingray asks for Boyd's help in getting back with Serena. He complains that Libby and Sindi's advice was useless, despite them being chicks themselves. Boyd tells him that the women are hardly in steady relationships themselves, and he tells him to think about the kind of guy he was when they first met, because that's the guy she wants to be with.
Lil begins to get upset as she talks about her teenage pregnancy. She went through it all, and at the end, the baby died. And all Svetlanka could say was that it was a blessing, and she hid Lil away like she was something to be ashamed of. Svetlanka tells Lil that all she wanted to do was to stop her from being the victim of all those small-town nosy people. Realising the ladies should be alone, Harold and David leave the room. Svetlanka tells Lil she was only doing the best she knew how to. All the time she lied and stuck her nose where it didn't belong, it was all for Lil. Lil asks her why she kept on using it against her. Svetlanka admits she was wrong, and tells Lil she is sorry. At last, Lil and Svetlanka make up.
Stingray tells Boyd his latest plan about where to put up the advertising posters. He wants to put them on taxis, buses and trains, because unlike the police, they can't arrest the boys. Boyd suggests just putting them on walls, completely legal. Max and Steph come in, and Max tells them that it's a shame they don't show the same diligence for homework. Stingray tells him that they don't get paid to do homework. Max asks where Lyn is, and Boyd tells him she wanted an early night; she wants to redo the kitchen cupboards before work tomorrow.
David offers to give Svetlanka a life back to the hotel, but Harold jumps in and says he'll do it, because he has to check on the Coffee Shop anyway. “Yeah, someone might have stolen it,” jokes David. After they leave, Lil tells David, “and they all lived happily ever after.” She thanks David for putting up with her, and admits she was a nightmare the last few weeks. David confesses he may have contributed to the problem by spending her mother's money. Lil can't help thinking about what Svetlanka did, and says that shutting her out all these years was like shutting out a part of herself. She tells David it feels like her little family is complete again. “In more ways than one,” says David, commenting that Svetlanka and Harold seem to be getting close. Lil laughs and covers his mouth before he can finish saying it.
Serena and Luka talk about having a Serbian upbringing. Svetlanka and Harold enter the coffee shop and when Svetlanka sees Luka, she runs right over to him and demands to know why he's there. He tells her he had to see her and Svetlanka says that his parents are worried sick about him. Serena asks “Bubba” what's going on, and Luka is surprised to hear what she calls Svetlanka. Svetlanka explains to them both that Serena is her granddaughter, and Luka is her godson.
Harold and Serena return home, and Serena tells Lil about meeting Luka. She tells her that he seemed really familiar, then she remembered seeing him at a Saint's Day when she was six.
Svetlanka goes off at Luka for running away from his parents. Luka tells her he knows they aren't his parents, that he was adopted. Svetlanka asks him why he thinks that, and he says that he doesn't have a birth certificate, and he couldn't get a tax file number, because there's no evidence that he even exists. Svetlanka asks him what his parents said. His mum started weeping and praying, and his dad said “I brought you up, didn't I?” and the discussion was over. So Luka decided to see Svetlanka. He figured she might know, because she's known him all his life. He asks her to help him find his real parents.
Serena talks about her night with Luka. When she goes to bed, David tells Lil that she seems to be taking this new development well. Lil tells him that they know him, and they know his family. David comments to Harold that romance seems to be emerging to be emerging in the weirdest places. Harold suddenly remembers that he brought home a cake from the Coffee Shop and left it in the car. Lil tells David to stop it, but David can't help himself. He goes on to say that Harold has this glint in his eye, and Svetlanka is doing the whole shy girly thing, or at least her version of it. Lil nearly spits out the tea she's drinking when David tells her she won't so much be losing a father-in-law as gaining a step-father.
Svetlanka tells Luka that his parents are his biological parents. Luka is convinced that she isn't telling him something. Svetlanka tells him that it's all in his head, and tells him to go home and forget about it. Luka says he's not leaving until he has some answers. Svetlanka tells him she knows nothing about his birth certificate problem and again tells him to go home. Luka tells her he wants to stay. Svetlanka correctly guesses that he likes Serena, and tells him to not even think about it, but won't tell him why. Luka tells her she can't just tell him to shut up all the time. Svetlanka reminds him about how she paid for all those lawyers, gave him money, and made up an alibi for him and didn't tell anyone. So when she says keep away, he has to keep away.
Boyd suggests putting posters up on the wall near Grease Monkeys before school. Stingray says it's a terrible idea, then explains that being brutally honest and in-your-face is the new him, and asks if Serena would like it. On their way out, Stingray asks Steph if she's thought of getting some new clothes. Steph gives Max some information on conception alternatives.
Stingray tells Serena that he's missed her, and that all the stuff with Lana was just to try to make her jealous. He says that he's off the medication, and the old Stingray is back again except for one thing: Serena. He tells her that he loves her, but Serena says that she cares about him too, but only as a friend. She tells him that she has met someone else.
Steph asks Max what he thought about the information she gave him. Max says that he completely agrees with the part about dieting and exercise being contributing factors to being able to conceive. She asks him about IVF, but Max says that it's a bit drastic. He's seen what it can do to people. It doesn't always work, and some couples get caught up in a fruitless expensive exercise that can completely rip them apart. It would put the whole family under such a strain, and it's not what he wants for them. Steph asks him if what she wants matters.
Outside a building
Stingray and Boyd put up some posters, with Stingray still wondering what he's doing wrong. Boyd tells him it's Serena's loss. Stingray wishes he knew who this other guy is. Suddenly an irate guy walks up to them and informs them that they are sticking their posters over his own. Boyd tells him to put them up somewhere else. The guy takes down one of Boyd's posters and rips it up. He tells them to get a paper round or flip burgers or some other loser job. Boyd says they'll stick to this job. The guy tells them that if they do there will be trouble.
Lou complains to Harold about some of the rude kids at the high school who just throw their rubbish at him. Stingray and Boyd come in, complaining about the guy that just threatened them. But Stingray stops when he sees Serena with Luka, and goes over to him. Luka asks Serena who this guy is, and Stingray informs him that he's her boyfriend. Luka gets up and suddenly Stingray jumps on him. Boyd pulls him off and leads him outside.
Svetlanka, David and Lil have lunch and make a toast to a new beginning and to families. Lil mentions Luka being in town, and Svetlanka says that it was sweet of Serena to take him under her wing. David says that he thinks the pleasure was all hers. Lil suggests they could invite him around for dinner some time. When Svetlanka says he won't be in town long, Lil suggests tonight. Svetlanka says he's busy tonight.
Steph asks Max about his opinion on another alternative she has thought of: a sperm donor. Max says that the child wouldn't be his. Steph argues that it would be, it just wouldn't have his genes. Max says that he couldn't do that, but Steph tells him she does every day: Summer and Boyd. Max says that he doesn't want just any baby, he wants their baby, but he doesn't want a donor. Steph tells him that isn't an answer.
Serena explains Stingray's behaviour to Luka, and explains that they broke up weeks ago, but he hasn't got used to it. She tells him he might if he sees her with Luka. Luka says that he has to go. Serena asks when they can meet up again, and Luka says they can't because there's too much going on in his life, and he doesn't know how long he'll be in Erinsborough. Serena tells him that they both felt something between them. Luka tells her to just leave it.
Svetlanka feeds Harold some more of her cooking. Harold asks how she cooks so well. Svetlanka tells him it's her secret weapon and she'll have to do away with him if she tells him. More seriously, Harold tells her he was proud of her last night. She admitted she was wrong and asked for forgiveness, and that was no mean feat. Svetlanka says that she just wants to protect her children. Harold tells her he thinks Lil knows that too. He then tells Svetlanka that she is a remarkable woman, and the two kiss.
Stingray tells Boyd that he just couldn't control himself in the Coffee Shop. Boyd tells him he's not sure Serena will be so understanding. Boyd asks if he thinks it might be better to go back on the medication, but Stingray says it just wasn't good for him. Serena walks past the boys and Stingray tells her he's sorry, and offers to talk to Luka as well. Serena tells him not to bother, it's over, and she blames Stingray for it. She storms off, telling him she can't believe she ever went out with him.
Steph visits Max in the pub, and tells him she's going away for some time to think. Max assures her that he does want to have a baby, even if it doesn't seem that way. Steph, however, is convinced he never wanted one, and just went along with it to keep her happy. Then as soon as they hit an obstacle, he backed out. She leaves the pub, telling him she'll see him later.
