The phone rings and it's Candice.

Gus comes in and Max thanks him for all his help today - particularly in getting the tickets for Boyd who will be pleased. Max goes off to pick up Summer and do some grocery shopping. Gus offers to do the shopping for him. Max gives him the list and some cash. He invites Gus to dinner to say thank you.
The Coffee Shop
Karl is telling David and Liljana that he's bought some new home recording equipment.
HAROLD: Please, not another 'Free As A River'. Let me go deaf first!
Karl takes this rudeness in his stride and asks David over for dinner to listen to his new sounds. But Liljana says that David can't because she's got "people" coming for dinner. David says he'll pop over before dinner instead.
When Karl has gone Liljana tells David that she's invited Susan, Lyn and Valda for dinner. She asks David to break the news to Harold. He doesn't look enthralled at the prospect.
Harold is irritated by his customers much to David's surprise. He tells Harold that Liljana has invited Susan, Lyn and Valda for dinner but Harold says they can do what they like - he's going to the pub! David is takenaback and says maybe Harold should go back to the psychologist. Harold says there's nothing wrong with him.
Hoylands

He tells her not to worry about it but she is adamant. He tells her to keep the money and teach him how to cook in payment. Steph says she's not a good cook, but agrees at Gus's insistence.
When Steph goes off to get an apron, Gus deletes Summer's message off the answerphone.
The Pub
Valda is fawning over Lou at a table much to his dismay. She asks how Trixie's show went and Lou puts her off by saying that all the reviews were written in Chinese. He goes off to send an "urgent fax".
Valda tells Harold that she knows something happened in Hong Kong and Lou can't say she didn't warn him!
A road
A bloke rides up to Summer and asks her the time. Summer looks scared.
Karl's place

David compliments Karl on his musical prowess(!) Karl explains that the song is a sequel to 'Free As A River' - 'Free At Last'(!) He asks David if he wants to hear "Free as A River" but David has to get back to the dinner party. He puts his cup in the sink and as he does so notices a wine glass with a lipstick mark on it.
When David has gone, Karl goes to the sink and realises that he must have seen the wine glass.
A road
Summer is sitting nervously in the dark while a weirdo goes through the bins. She walks off and the weirdo follows her asking her for money. Just then Gus draws up on his bike and rescues Summer. She is very scared so he hugs her to him and tells her that Uncle Gus is there now.
The Pub
Harold wants to know why Lou is back from Hong Kong already and makes a few wisecracks about Trixie. Karl comes in and dials a number on his mobile phone.
Bishops
The dinner party is in full swing with everyone talking and laughing. David answers the phone to Karl. He says that someone left a mobile phone in his house and wants to know if it was David's. But then he "remembers" that it was left by a female relative. David sees through this straight away and says that Karl needn't explain anything to him. Karl hears Valda laughing in the background and gets a bit suspicious. David quickly hangs up.
Hoylands
Max is on the phone to the police to report Summer missing. Just then Gus brings Summer in. She wants to know why Max didn't come to get her - she is really freaked out. She tells Max crossly that she was scared. He says he was scared too and he hugs her. Then both he and Steph thank Gus for his help.
Bishops
The party has gone a bit subdued since Karl's phonecall. Susan says she'd better go - Candice has invited her out for a drink.
DAVID: You want to watch out for the blokes, Susan! With that new hairstyle they'll be beating you off with a stick!
SUSAN: Yeah, thanks, David - I think!
When Susan has gone, Liljana tells David off but he says he was just trying to be nice!
Hoylands
Max is trying to "fix" the answerphone because he didn't get Summer's message. Max tells Gus that he's a legend and if he needs anything at all he should ask him. Gus asks him to keep an ear to the ground for any jobs that are coming up. Max says they've got a job coming up at the pub if he's up for it. He says he'll square things with Lou.
When Gus has gone, Steph says that Gus is realy nice and she's sorry she was so suss about him when he first arrived.
The Pub
Lou tells Harold he should go home - he's fed up of his wisecracks. He tells Harold that he's changed.
Gus come in for a celebratory drink. He looks at his stolen photo of the Hoylands with an odd look on his face.
Kennedys
Susan has had a lift home from the club with some bloke called Brent. He's obviously interested in her and Susan backs away(!) She tells him that she knows how this must seem, but that it isn't her - she was only accepting a lift home really. She says she's not ready for anything because she's only recently separated. Brent is decent about this and shows himself out.
Pub Office
Lou is brooding when Harold comes in. Despite Lou's protests, Harold sits down with him. Lou says he's sick of Harold's gloating and admits that the show was a flop and it's closed. Also, Trixie has left him. Harold says that it was never going to last anyway(!) Lou becomes very angry and throws Harold out. He tells Harold that there's no compassion left in his brain anymore.
Lou then quietly tells Harold that he could lose his house and the pub - everything.
