Recap
- Harold telling Ruby that he loves her
- Nina and Jack saying they'll be boyfriend and girlfriend
- Dee finding Susan's ring under Darcy's couch
Darcy's Place
Dee asks Darcy for the truth, "Did you rob the Kennedys?" Darcy stands silent for awhile contemplating his options, before falling to his knees and apologising to Dee. He confesses to robbing the K's and knocking Lyn over. He says it's a relief to tell her. Dee looks mortified.
The outside strip of Grease Monkeys
Harold and Ruby are strolling along, and Ruby points out a figurine of a woman in a shop window. "My mother bought that for me in Paris, 1952. We spent a year abroad. I was seven." Ruby admits she sold it to the pawn shop for gambling money. She's buying it back though on lay-by, "reclaiming a little bit of my lost life." Ruby goes in to make a payment, and Harold looks happily around outside until he spots Lou locking up the garage. Lou sees him and gives him a nod. Harold begrudgingly nods back. Lou drives off as Ruby comes back out. She states that the figurine is a symbol of her future.
Darcy's
"What have you done?" asks Dee in shock. Darcy tries to rationalise the situation, but his face is covered in sweat. He says he's going to hide the ring at the K's when he goes there for dinner tonight, and he says that he'll pay back all the money. Anonymously if he has to. Dee can't speak. Darcy thanks her and says, "I love you so much." He hugs her tightly. Dee looks sickened, and like she is about to cry.
Number 30
Lou is over inspecting the clean-up after Connor's party. He admits that it's clean but wants no more parties. Toadie spouts the Residential Tenancies Act at him, and reminds Lou about getting him off all those parking fines. Toadie suggest they paint the place. His mate Snapper has loads of free paint they can use. "Free?!" Lou asks, eyes lighting up. "Oh yeah, free as a river," replies Toadie. The only problem is it's all different colours, and some of it is outside paint. Lou says he'll pay for the new paint if Toadie supplies the labour. Toadie suggests the colour 'pecan' with a green trim, but Lou is determined to paint it beige and cream.
The Surgery
Dee walks in looking lost. She had to unlock the door, so there's no one else in there. She sits at the reception desk, picks up the phone and dials 000. She asks for Erinsborough Police Station, and then Sgt Joanna Douglas. Dee's waiting to speak, but suddenly changes her mind and hangs up looking distraught.
The Scullys
Harvey is watching Jack and Nina. Nina is lying with her head resting on Jack's lap. She thinks that Harvey is spying on them. Nina's a bit freaked out about having Lyn and Joe in the next room, not because Jack and Nina are doing anything, but because she thinks they don't like her very much. Jack dispells that. They talk about giving Melody Jones (the agent) a call, and joke around about Nina dropping Jack for Justin Timberlake.
The Coffee Shop
Ruby is behind the counter. Harold walks in with a gift box. He has got Ruby a present. It's the figurine from the pawn shop. Ruby looks surprised. She's a bit worried because now she thinks that Harold thinks she couldn't pay it off by herself. Harold tells her, "I just wanted to give you your future, Ruby." She smiles at him, but doesn't look entirely convinced.
Number 30
Lou is sitting at the kitchen table with various different coloured food items and jars around him. This is Toadie's way of picking a colour scheme. They can't agree on anything, and Lou wants to know what's wrong with beige. "It's for people who have no will to live!" replies Toadie. Lou gets up and walks out, and bumps into Dee at the front door. He leaves. Toadie asks Dee what's up, and Dee starts to say something, and begins to cry. "I don't know what to do." Toadie envelopes her into a hug.
The Coffee Shop
Jack and Nina are sitting at a table waiting for the agent. Melody barges in and shouts out to Nina, giving her over-the-top air kisses. She babbles on about how quaint the Coffee Shop is, and how gorgeous Nina is. Jack and Melody have a verbal sparring session over Nina's welfare, and any debts she may incur. Jack looks a bit unsure about Melody's genuine-ness, but Nina is naively excited.
Number 30
Dee has just finished telling Toadie about Darcy, and her attempt at calling the police. He asks if Darcy would do a runner, but she doesn't think so. She states that she's going to have to call the police for real this time, but she doesn't want to be the one to destroy Darcy's life. "Dee. He's done that all by himself." She looks like she is going to cry again.
The Coffee Shop
Melody thinks that Nina should drop her last name, and she tells them that she also manages a boy band called 'Roger'. Jack thinks they should talk contracts. Melody is getting a bit annoyed with him, and Nina says he's just looking out for her. The Coffee Shop phone rings in the background. They keep chatting, and Nina is delighted that Melody doesn't want Nina's parents involved (That was Nina's main concern). Harold comes over and tells Nina that Lou is looking for her to see if she had forgotten about the last minute gig they organized. Melody's ears pricked up at the mention of 'last minute' and offers to speak to "this Lou" for Nina.
The Kennedys
Darcy is over at the K's for dinner. Karl is trying to make things seem normal by chatting about wines. Susan starts to talk about the police and Lyn though, which makes Darcy uncomfortable. Karl calls Susan into the hallway on the premise of choosing a wine, but he really just wants to say to her that they should leave Darcy be. Darcy seizes this opportunity to stuff Susan's ring in Dahl's feeder. Karl comes up behind him just before he can, and he quickly manages to shove the ring into his pocket unseen.
The Pub
Jack and Nina are setting up Nina's stuff, and Lou and Melody are at the bar. Melody starts off nice, but then gets down to business. She says that Lou isn't treating Nina as well as he could be. She scares him into getting someone to help Nina out setting up. Nina smiles at her and gives her the thumbs up.
Number 30
Dee is on the phone to the police. She tells them that Darcy is having dinner at the K's. Toadie ducks out to make sure that Darcy's car is still there. It is. She hangs up, and they both look a bit unsure.
The Kennedys
The three of them are sitting down eating dinner. Susan and Karl are being very sympathetic towards Darcy. Darcy tells them about Joe "bailing" him up. Susan and Karl are both astounded. Karl goes to pour Darcy some more wine, and knocks the glass over, liquid splashing everywhere. Darcy gets his hanky out of his pocket...and Susan's ring falls on to the table spinning around in a circle. They all stare at the ring in silence. Susan looks up at Karl. Darcy looks at the both of them. Karl looks up with a shocked and saddened realisation on his face.
The Pub
Lou comes up to Nina and Melody with a jug of iced water. Melody sends him back to get tap water at room temperature. She tells Nina to knock them dead. Her mobile rings, and she starts chatting to someone called David telling him how "dynamite" Nina is. Jack tells Nina he thinks Melody is alright. Lou brings her water back, "Just remember the little people when you're famous." Nina gets ready, and Jack walks back to the counter with Lou. Jack tells him that Lyn remembers who knocked her down. Lou is all gleeful because he thinks that Ruby has got what was coming to her. Jack tells him it was Darcy that Lyn saw. Lou looks shocked.
The Kennedys
Susan is sitting down with Karl behind her. Darcy is before them, pleading his case. "I had no choice...I must have been insane." Karl and Susan are looking at him with steely glares. Darcy apologises profusely, and tells them he will make it up to them. Susan says "get out", and then yells at him to go. Darcy looks stressed and storms out the door, leaving the K's bewildered and Susan with tears in her eyes.
