Recap
- Connor tells Lori about the T-shirts. Lori convinces him to go for it
- Valda announces she's moving to the garage
Joe and Lyn are discussing wallpaper to go in the baby's room. Joe tells her that one of his mates from work's wife had a baby girl, and they had fairy wallpaper. Lyn doesn't want to rush into the wallpaper, because she is happy the way it is and also Valda has just moved out of the baby's room; and if she starts to rearrange it, Valda might take offence and move out. Lyn shakes her at the fact Valda is sleeping in the dirty garage, Joe however takes offence to the 'dirty' part, but he reminds her that Valda is determined, and they cannot do a thing to stop her.
Lori asks Connor where he got the T-Shirts from. Connor refuses to tell her, saying that he is the Capital part of the business and Lori is the fashion part. Connor offers her a share of 40% and she declines, wanting an even split. They debate until Toadie comes in to keep them quiet, however he notices all the T-shirt boxes and ask what the hell that is that?
Libby comes into the coffee shop and notices Taj trying to read. However some girls were laughing in the background, being loud. He asks Libby if she is going to come back to teach at Erinsborough but she tells him there are no vacancies. He groans and says that they should kick the dud teachers out, and Libby just smiles tells him that she'll leave him too it... if he can handle the noise.
Connor pleads with Toadie to keep all the shirts here. He tells Connor to put them in the garage, but he then informs Toadie that all the other shirts are there. Toadie begins to say something but Lori offers him a cut, like storage cut. Toadie agrees and leaves, and Connor is speechless. He tells her that Toadie's cut comes out of her profit, but Lori disagrees saying that partners share expenses.
Nina is working at the front desk at Lassiters, when Tahnee asks for the main keys to the rooms. Nina asks why and Tahnee produces a disk with afro Harold on it, wanting to e-mail it to Michelle. She reminds Tahnee of the trouble they got into when they lost the passport, and how it took three hours to find. Tahnee smiles and says that afro Harold needs to be shown for a laugh, and in the end Nina gives her the keys.
Valda asks Lou if he can tell her what a loan from the bank requires, as she wants to buy a place round the corner from Lyn. He reads the paper and tells her that she needs to have 28% of the loan upfront, which comes to a total of $28 000. Valda is shocked, and Lou asks how much she has saved. When Lou asks how much she has saved, Valda replies that she has only yesterday's pay; and it's Lou's turn to be shocked. Valda tells him to forget it as it was only an idea.
Tahnee closes the office door when she is finished with the computer. She tells Nina that Michelle says hi and she sent the pictures. Tahnee produces 2 movie tickets that she 'scored' off the table, and she asks Nina to go with her. Nina declines them and tells Tahnee that she hasn't changed a bit; she is still a liar and a thief.
Lori tells Connor that the sooner that they get the shirts done, the sooner they will sell. Lou then rings Connor on the mobile asking for him to spy on Ruby. He disagrees saying that it is not a good idea, but Lou insists and hangs up. Lori is busy making the shirts and asks him where he is going. When Connor tells her that he has to leave, he does so. Lori looks unimpressed.
Lou calls Valda back into his office and presents her with a savings account. Valda is over the moon, and thanks Lou for doing this. He also tells her that his accountant has also bought shares so she can invest and to think of it as a early Christmas bonus. Valda thanks him and says that he doesn't know how much it means to her.
Taj knocks on the Kennedys' door and tells Libby that he needs her help. Libby invites him in he shakes his head saying he cannot do his assignments. She offers to help him on the condition that she will not do the work for him.
Connor calls Lou on the mobile, and points out to him that spying on Ruby is useless. So far she has helped Harold in the Coffee Shop, bought a loaf of bread and went to another meeting of gamblers anonymous. He finishes his little speech saying that Lou needs to sort it out with the police or Harold because he is not getting involved. Connor leaves Lou shaking his head.
Libby is helping Taj with the main character in his English analysis, and somehow the plot became what she was feeling towards Drew. Although Lib seemed to become a little bit emotional towards the end of her speech, Taj understood the character's point of view.
Valda gives Lou a present to thank him for the savings account and the shares. It is a nifty (yes I like the word nifty :P ) watch which tells you the time and the date and other things. Lou thanks her for the present, but says that she didn't listen to him about saving. He just shakes his head and asks what he can do you get through to her, however Valda becomes tearful and leaves.
Lyn and Joe have finished typing an e-mail to Michelle telling her all the news going on in Erinsborough. As they send it to Michelle they notice en e-mail from Lassiter's... and it happens to be Harold with the afro! Valda then comes in quite upset, and heads straight for the garage without answering either Joe or Lyn.
Toadie is sitting with Lori working with the shirts. Connor comes in, and Lori chooses then to tell him that Toadie is getting another cut; for helping today when 'he' was supposed to. Connor starts to protest when Lori finishes by saying that expenses are split 50-50. Toadie advises Connor to take it before she lowers it to his disadvantage and Connor just sighs.
Lou pops in to see Valda and Lyn calls her into the kitchen; leaving Lou and her to talk. Lou thanks her for the present, but he didn't need to do that for him. He tells her that she is too generous and gives her the money back he refunded from the gift. Valda beings to sob and says that she is not a good person. She looks at Lou with tears in her eyes, and he reminds her that he can be trusted. She spills her dark secret: that she is in fact Lyn's mother.
