Lou's Place
Toadie is sitting at the bar, while Lou is drying glasses, meanwhile telling Toadie jokes about lawyers.
Lou goes through to his office and Toadie follows, where he finds a stack of unpaid parking fines.
Toadie tells Lou that he should pay them, but Lou refuses saying that it's "civil disobedience" that the council had deemed the parking area outside the pub a no parking zone, and Lou was refusing to adhere as he has been parking there for years.
No. 26
Jack is lying on the couch, Steph comes into the lounge, and sits herself on the coffee table beside him. Steph asks him how it's going. Jack tells her that he thinks that everything is going to be alright with him and Nina, Steph warns him that it comes at a cost, he has to think how Lori is feeling. Jack says that just because Steph has had a string of disasters doesn't mean that he will. They end up arguing and Steph leaves to go to Max's.

Max is doing laundry, Summer comes in to announce that she has just finished cleaning the bathroom. Boyd didn't realise that Steph coming over involved so much housework!
Steph brings in Chocolate mud cakes from Lyn, Summer dives in. There is a bit of tension between Boyd and Steph, Max tells him to dive in before Summer eats all the muffins Boyd rather reluctantly agrees, and takes a muffin.
Lou's Place
Lou is telling Toadie a joke for the road. "Why don't sharks bite lawyers?.... Professional courtesy"
A man in a suit comes into the pub with a registered letter for Lou, Lou thinks that he has won the lottery, but when he opens the letter he gets a shock, it's a court summons due to his unpaid parking fines.
Toadie laughs and asks Lou if he is going to be in need of "One of those slimy bottom feeders"
Lou tells Toadie that there will be no need, he still has friends in high places, and he was once the mayor of Erinsborough. Lou says that one of his contacts at the council will get him off. Toadie tells Lou that all he will be doing in that case is adding perverting the course of justice to his list of offences.

Max is hugging Steph on the sofa. Steph tells Max that tomorrow that she is in his hands. Max replies by telling her that they are having "A spot of hot air ballooning, followed by a champagne lunch"
Steph laughs but Max says its "all booked and paid for" noticing that Max looks hurt Steph says that she would love to.
Summer comes through with forms for the soccer tea m, Max thinks that the forms are going to take hours, Boyd comes in with his skateboard and nags Max to fix it, but Max is busy with Summer. Steph takes a look and tells Boyd that a socket would probably fix it, so she goes home to get her socket set.

Lyn asks if Jack is going out tonight, so that she knows how many veggies to put on, Jack thinks that Lyn is going to give him another lecture, she says that she isn't but goes onto give him one anyway.
No. 32
Summer and Steph are looking through a catalogue, Summer asks Steph if she thinks that a particular shade of lipstick would suit her, Max is not impressed, saying that Summer is too young for all that.
Boyd comes in looking smart despite the yellow shirt, and says that he is away to the cinema. Steph tries to make conversation with Boyd, telling him to say hi to Heather from her, but Boyd is not forthcoming.
Max coaxes Boyd into thanking Steph for fixing his board, he does so reluctantly and heads for the door. Before he leaves however, he turns around to listen to the continuing conversation between Max, Steph and Summer and has a look of despair on his face.

Toadie answers the door to Lou and then Lou follows Toadie into the kitchen. Lou has brought Toadie a bottle of wine, probably to soften up. Lou tells Toadie that the contact that he was relying on to get him off the parking tickets has moved to the UK to open a fish and chip shop. Toadie continues to tease Lou as he very unsubtly hints to Toadie that he may require his services after all. Toadie eventually throws the bait to Lou and he says that if Toadie agrees to represent him, then he Lou, will be in his debt, Toadie answers with "Yes, you will"

Lyn goes to visit Lori, she is impressed to see that Lori is standing on her own, and Lori excitedly tells her that she can feel the ground. Lyn offers to give her a lift to her hospital appointment the next day they are sitting on the sofa, and there is a bit on awkwardness until Lori asks Lyn why she is there Lyn says that she should have brought something as an excuse but she has given all the muffins to Steph, Lyn has to admit that the truth is that she misses Lori, Lori says that she only saw her that morning, but Lyn says that she is fond of her.
No 30
Mac and Steph are sitting together on the sofa, with summer lying on Max's lap. Max is apologising for the hectic day, but Steph says that it's fine that she had a great time.
MAX: Lady, you have really weird tastes!
STEPH: I know, I've been told that especially in men.
MAX: I suppose I better take that as a compliment!
STEPH: Why not.
Steph says that Max should never have to apologise for his family, as they are great kids, and that she is glad that she has been invited in.
No 28
Lori manoeuvres her wheelchair over to the door and answers ot to Nina, Nina tries to make conversation, but Lori is not so forthcoming in being friendly, Lori says that Nina is only there to make herself feel better, but Nina says that she thinks that talking about it would make them all feel better, Lori tells her a few home truths, she says that she doesn't hate her, but believes that she is the type of person who will steal other people's boyfriends. Lori asks Nina to leave, and she does so, visibly upset.

Jack answers the door to Nina, he asks her if she has been crying, she says just a bit,
Nina tells him "We are not the only two people on the planet" Jack tells her that she can't back out now. She tells him that they both knew that what they were doing was wrong. She leaves shouting at Jack "I don't even like myself right now. so how am I supposed to love someone else ?"

Max comes into the living room with a picnic basket announcing that they have champagne etc. Summer says that she wishes that she was going, but Max tells her that she has soccer practice. Max tells Steph that he was so excited about the day that he couldn't eat breakfast. Max had to eventually admit that he is nervous about going in the hot air balloon, he just wants to be adventurous to match up to Alex, Steph tells him that she would rather watch grass grow with him, than go hang gliding with Alex!
A Park
Summer is practicing for the soccer team, when Jack arrives, and he gives her some tips.
Lou's Place
Toadie is going through the case with Lou, telling him that they can challenge the ruling as Lou was in hospital when the rezoning took place, and thus the could try and get the fines dropped, they could also apply to the council to rezone the area as a disabled parking space, which Lou could legitimately park in, due to his chronic back problem. Lou is amazed with Toadie's plans and resolves to "God Bless Lawyers" Lou gives Toadie a drink on the house, Toadie also has something for Lou, an envelope. Lou is surprised to discover that it is a bill from Toadie for his services, and Toadie tells him that there will be another one after the case.
TOADIE: A wise man told me only yesterday, everything costs!
Max's Car
Max and Steph have given away their balloon tickets, they are sitting in his car. Max leans over to kiss Steph and tells her "It's been a long time since I attempted this in a car, hope I remember my technique." He jumps over onto her seat knocking the car horn as he goes and kisses her telling her that it is all coming back to him.
