Recap
- Joe and Lyn arrive home to find Valda. She tells them she's getting married.
- Summer is doing her paper round when an older girl rides up and knocks her bike over. She threatens Summer, telling her she wants the paper round.
Summer continues her paper round, and keeps looking around worried. She runs it Karl, who's about to go for a bike ride. Karl asks her if she all right. She says she's fine. She then asks Karl, "Aren't you a bit old for that?" He replies that there isn't an age limit for getting fit and healthy. Summer asks him, "Isn't there a risk of getting a stroke or heart attack?" He tells her that people exercise to avoid that happening. Then he offers to help Summer with her paper round without being paid. He tells her it would help her, taking half the time and it would give him some exercise.
Joe isn't happy to see all of Valda's luggage, and wants Lyn to ask how long Valda is staying. Lyn tells him she can't just ask that. Joe says he doesn't see why not. Lyn tells him it's because Valda's family and she doesn't want her to feel unwelcome.
Connor walks into Lou's pub office and catches him talking on the phone to appears to be a girlfriend. After Lou hangs up, Connor asks him if he has a new girlfriend. Lou tells him "never mind" and asks what he wants. Connor says he's come to hear Lou's idea. Lou tells him he wants to re-introduce a carwash to the garage. Connor suggests he buy a capuccino maker to make it more classy. Lou tells him that's a good idea. Connor tells Lou that now they have that business out of the way, he wants to know about his new girlfriend. Lou sighs.
Valda arrives at the Kennedys with Harvey. When Karl sees her, he looks shocked. He asks her why she's back. She tells him she's there where she's really needed. Karl looks worried and asks, "Here?" She tells him that she's come to help Lyn, since she's expecting a baby. Karl looks relieved, and says, "Oh, here in Erinsborough." She tells Karl "yes" and that she's there to give "Lynny" all the support she needs. Susan walks out and looks surprised to see Valda. Karl tells her that Valda has moved back there. Susan, (like Karl) looks worried and asks, "Back here?" Karl tells her, "Back in Erinsborough" Susan looks very relieved and asks Valda why she's back. She tells Susan she's come bearing gifts, and gives them some alcohol. Karl and Susan don't look very happy when they see it.
At the "Coffee Shop", Connor is asking Stuart if he'll help with the carwash. Stuart tells him he doesn't have the time. Michelle walks in not looking very pleased. She asks Connor where he's been. He tells her he's been around. She tells him she hasn't seen any evidence of that. Connor replies that he's just been busy.
Summer comes home still looking worried. Boyd asks her what's wrong. She's reluctant to say at first, but finally tells him about the girl that's picking on her. Boyd realizes that was why she asked him to help with the paper round, and asks her why she didn't tell that was the reason. She replies that it's her problem. Boyd asks her if she knows where this girl lives. She says yes. Boyd then tells her to get Bob and he'll meet her outside.
Connor and Michelle walk around continuing their talk. Michelle isn't happy because Connor is talking about cars, Stuart and Harvey, but not about them. She tells him she doesn't know where their relationship is going. Connor tells her he thinks they should just sit back and reassess things after what has happened with him being kicked out of the house and everything. Michelle starts to raise her voice and asks Connor, "Who cares what my parents think?". Connor replies that he does. Michelle asks him if he still loves her. He tells her that of course he does, but he thinks they should be a bit more mature about what they're doing. Michelle gets angry at him for saying she's immature and barges off.
Boyd and Summer walk to the girls house with Bob. Before they get there, Valda walk up to them and asks what they're doing. Summer tells her that they are on a special mission. After Valda leaves, Boyd takes Bob up to the girls doorstep to leave a surprise. Summer laughs and says that it's foul.
Valda talks to Karl and Susan at their house. After a while, Karl tells her it isn't fair of him to keep her there when she's needed at the Scullys. She says she doesn't mind, but that she should get going. As she leaves, Valda says, "See you soon". Karl and Susan both look relieved as she steps out the door. Karl says that it's the first time that he's thought of "See you soon" as a threat. Susan looks stunned, and says, "She doesn't breath. How many gins do you reckon she knocked back?" Karl then admits that he has a problem with alcohol.
At No. 30., Connor tells Stuart how Michelle's young and that she's too full on at times. Stuart and Connor sit down to watch the footy, when Lou knocks on the door. After Connor lets him, he says he has another bright idea. Stuart tells him to be quick, because the footy is about to start.
At the Scullys, Lyn gives in and let's Joe go and ask Valda how long she's staying. When he goes and asks her, she tells him, "For as long as I'm needed." Joe tries to explain why he asked her, but she keeps interrupting, telling him that he isn't taking advantage of her good nature, that she'll stay as long as she's need. Joe tries to talk but she tells him that he doesn't need to thank her and she doesn't want to hear another word about it. Joe goes back in the kitchen and Valda asks for some biscuits. Michelle comes out of her room and Valda decides to talk to her about Connor. Joe comes out with the biscuits and watches Valda and Michelle. Valda tells him to give her and Michelle some space to talk about "secret women's business". Joe looks annoyed as he walks back to the kitchen.
Valda talks to Michelle about Connor. Michelle says that she wishes that her parents knew what it is doing to her not being able to see Connor. Valda tells her that she thinks her parents are just doing what they think is best. Michelle tells Valda that she doesn't even know if Connor still wants to be her boyfriend. Valda tells her she should confront Connor and find out once and for all what's going on. Michelle tells Valda that it's a great idea and thanks her.
In the kitchen, Joe tells Lyn he isn't happy about Valda barging in and running their lives, and that he just wants Michelle to stop moping around the house. Lyn tells him he should have a talk to Connor about his relationship with Michelle, so she will concentrate more on schoolwork and less on relationships.
The next morning, Karl tells Susan he's never touching alcohol again. Susan laughs and says that now there is more for Valda. Then she hugs Karl and says she's so proud of him and that he should be proud of himself.
At the Scullys, Valda is cooking breakfast. Lyn tells her she shouldn't be doing it because she's a guest. Valda says it's fine and tells Lyn to sit down. When Lyn sees what Valda's cooking she tells her that Joe doesn't usually have a fried breakfast. Valda replies that maybe it's time he does. Michelle comes out and Valda gives her some lunch, then she leaves for school. At the same time, Joe takes Harvey outside. Valda asks Lyn how she's coping with the pregnancy. Lyn tells her that it's as good as it gets, but that she (Valda) wouldn't know because she's never been through it. Valda tells Lyn she's glad to hear she's fine.
Connor and Stuart are packing boxes at the pub, when Michelle walks in. Michelle tells Connor that either he commit to the relationship straight away, or he can forget about the whole thing. As she walks out she tells him to come and tell her when he's decided.
