Connor insist that he hasn't been sneaking around with Nina - he's just friends with Nina, he loves Michelle. Michelle won't have it, saying that she and Connor promises each other that they wouldn't have secrets any more, and anyway, she thinks Connor has been looking guilty.
MICHELLE: When two people love each other, they trust each other. It's over.
Connor silently walks out.
Harold and Rosie are having a cup of tea. They chat about Lou a bit, Harold saying that Lou does know how to ruffle feathers. Rosie thanks Harold for his help with the paperwork. He quickly hides a dating agency poster that has fallen out of his book.
Connor has packed his bags and is on his way out. But Joe comes out and catches him. He takes him into the kitchen and asks him what's going on. Connor says it's different to last time - Michelle thinks he's been lying to her, so he's going to sleep on a mate's floor. Joe thinks the business with Nina will blow over. He knows Michelle is upset but in a few day things might be different. Connor says he's been a bit stupid - he didn't think about the implications of helping Nina out. Joe says it's taken him years to understand women(!)
Connor says he's going now so he can get the last bus. Joe says he'll see Connor at the site tomorrow. Also he tells Connor that if he can get the stuff with Michelle sorted out, he'll be very welcome to come back to live with the Scullys.
Coffee Shop, the following morning
Libby comes in with Ben and finds Susan serving. They chat about Uni and Libby says she need a "bucket" of coffee.
Rosie comes in and Harold makes a point of serving her.
Lou rings Rosie on her mobile at that point and Harold doesn't look pleased. Lou asks Rosie to call into the pub, and she agrees to swing by around mid-day.
Harold gives Rosie her coffee and Rosie invites him to join her for five minutes.
Libby asks Harold if Lou is OK - she feels weird being in his house when he's got nowhere to stay. Libby wonders if Karl will be moving back home soon. Susan says she's not ready for that.
Joe is pressing Michelle to choose him a tie. Lyn has realised that Connor has gone. Joe says he knows - he had a chat to Connor last night.
Just then there's a knock at the door and it's Nina. She's come to talk to Michelle.
Nina tells Michelle that there's been a terrible mistake - Connor helped her with her confidence to sing in public, and that's it. She says that this whole thing is because Tahnee stole from Nina's diary. Michelle won't believe Nina. She says that she trusted both Nina and Connor, but now they just deserve each other.
Balcony of Lou's house
Libby is teaching Connor to read, but he can't concentrate. She tells him that relationships are hard work - it took Drew and her ages to get together because she kept running away. But Drew kept coming back and she's very lucky that he did. Connor wonders if he should do the same thing, but Michelle won't even talk to him. Libby suggests a letter. Connor says he can hardly string a sentence together, but Libby says that will just make it more special. She says if it's the real thing with Michelle, it will work out.
Susan is meeting Libby for lunch. Lou is a bit dressed up and wearing strong aftershave(!)
LOU: Women today like their men sensitive.
SUSAN: Do they?
Lou asks Susan if she thinks he is sensitive. She says she thinks everyone has to work on being more sensitive(!)
Luckily Susan is rescued by Libby arriving. She moans to Libby that Lou is a bit old-fashioned(!)
Rosie has come in to see Lou. She comments on the funny smell and Lou says it must be something in the kitchen(!)
Libby tells Susan that she saw their teacher, Peter, at the library and he seemed quite interested in Susan. Libby wants to know if Susan and Karl are an item. Libby is anxious that Peter doesn't have a hope with Susan. Susan says Peter is just a friend, but that doesn't stop her having coffee with him. Libby looks a bit worried.
Michelle is having her exchange program interview. The last question is - who is the person Michelle most admires - anyone at all, dead or alive. Michelle picks her parents. They support her in everything she does, let her be her own person, given everything to the kids even if they have to go without. They try to understand her, but even when they don't, they go on loving her. She admires and loves them.
Rosie and Lou are having a drink. Lou wants to bury the hatchet. Rosie says that Lou doesn't take her very seriously in general - first she wanted to go into partnership with him, but he chose Max instead.
Lou lets slip that Harold has joined a dating agency. Rosie is surprised.
Nina sees Connor and apologises for her part in everything that's happened. Connor says that they'd better not see each other until he's sorted things out with Michelle - she's the most important thing in the world to him.
Nina has bought him a present - it's a scarf. She puts it round Connor's neck. Just then Michelle comes round the corner (waht a surprise!)
Connor follows Michelle in and says that there isn't anything going on - she keeps getting the wrong idea. Connor tries to reason with Michelle and says he won't give up on them. Michelle says there's nothing to give up on.
Lou is telling Rosie how fastidious Harold is. Rosie says he should work out his differences with Harold. Lou invites Rosie out to dinner, but she's having a fundraising meeting with Harold. She says she'll try to rearrange with Harold, but it's just dinner - Lou shouldn't get over-excited.
There's a knock at the door and it's Rosie. She asks Harold to change the meeting as Lou has been feeling a bit neglected. Harold is disappointed but agrees. He closes the door sadly.
The interview man has rung to speak to Michelle. Joe and Lyn wait anxiously. She got it! - she's going to New York! Lyn and Joe are very excited. Michelle supposes that it ends things with Connor once and for all, but Joe tells her not to be too hasty.
Libby is talking to Audrey and baby Ben.
LIBBY: Now this is the deal, guys. I'm going to make a great dinner. I'm going to say sorry for hassling your grandma. And then you two are going to go to sleep so I can work on my assignment.
Just then, Peter the teacher drops Susan off. Libby isn't pleased but doesn't say much. She goes into the house.
Harold is sitting at the kitchen table looking lonely. He picks up the phone and rings the dating agency. He tells them he'd like to join.
