Recap
Marc confirming with Steph that she is happy to bring the wedding forward.
Darcy telling Dee that he's surprised at her going out with someone on the rebound.
Leo being scared of going into court and Maggie saying all they can do is to keep their fingers crossed.
Court
Neil does his speech in his defence of Matt - that he was a harmless idiot, who regrets what has happened, was stupid to do a runner but is now here to face the consequences.
No. 26
Steph is surprised to see Joe take the news of the wedding being brought forward so calmly. His stance is that if Steph is happy then she is happy and when he tries to get her to confirm it, she is a bit hesitant because it may cost too much. Joe tells her to leave the money to him and wants her to confirm with the Lamberts how many of them will be coming but she avoids answering the question.
Court
The Magistrate gives the Hancocks the bad news they feared - Matt isn't getting bail but is being remanded instead. Matt hugs his family before he is led away.
No. 26
Steph phones Chloe to try and get a date arranged for the wedding but all the dates Steph puts forward is rejected by her, so she asks Chloe to pick a suitable date before hanging up. Joe arrives home and Steph feigns who she was chatting to before getting annoyed that people are sending her wedding junk mail.
No. 30
Dee comments about a sexist joke Toadie makes just as she comes into the kitchen but quickly leaves when she notices there isn't any milk. With Dee out, Toadie wonders what just happened (Stu backed Dee up) and Stu replies that being politically correct is the way to Dee's heart given what happened with Darcy and he is the one to capture her heart. Toadie points out that Darcy has a medical degree but Stu replies that he is more mature than Darcy.
Court
The Hancocks minus Matt make their way into the foyer and ask Neil what happens next. He replies that they need to get a good QC and pray that Glen recovers but the odds don't look good as courts are cracking down on culpable driving charges and that they may make an example of Matt. Maggie asks if they can get Matt out on bail but Neil doesn't think so and leaves to start finding a QC for them.
Lassiter's Complex
Dee stares at Darcy's nameplate on the surgery when Toadie appears and she quickly assures him she isn't going back to Darcy. He answers her question of why he isn't at the office by saying it is quite with Maggie and Neil at the court and also says there is no news yet before they head home to have lunch.
No. 30
Dee and Toadie finish clearing up after finishing lunch and she lets off steam about how Darcy is getting under her skin when Stu smartly dressed in a shirt and tie appears. They take the Mickey out of him for his appearance and Dee suddenly decides it is time for a walk. Stu is a bit puzzled by this so Toadie decides to give it to him straight - he needs to listen to Dee because she wants out.
Ramsay Street
The Hancock's arrive home and Maggie sends Evan and Leo in so she can talk to Toadie. She walks over and tells Toadie that Matt's been denied bail because they obviously think he is a flight risk. He asks how Matt took it and Maggie replies that Matt looked terrified. Toadie asks how she is and with emotion in her voice admits it has been a while since she's thought of an answer to that. She is almost in tears when she tells him to go to work and he tells her to hang in there. She is about to tell him something but stops and instead says everything is a nightmare and that she can't run away.
No. 32
Maggie phones the hospital to enquire how Glen is doing and Emily innocently asks her dad why didn't the police take Matt home and he replies that they just need to wait a bit but he'll be home soon enough. Back with Maggie and she is finding it hard to get info because she isn't family. Evan sends Emily out to watch TV so they can talk to Leo who is finding it annoying that he isn't being told anything. With Emily safely away, Maggie admits that they don't know what will happen - it depends on whether Glen recovers or not. She also gives them the bad news that a good QC is going to cost $3000 a day...and they don't have that sort of money.
Lou's Place
Steph admits to Marc that his parents' refusal to accept her is starting to play on her mind and he tries to laugh it off but Steph wishes she knew what she could do to change that. Marc says it is Chloe she needs to bring round and doesn't think that flowers will do it. Steph suddenly has an idea of what may work but doesn't want to tell Marc just yet.
No. 32
The atmosphere is very subdued as the Hancocks eat their pizza with nobody exactly keen on eating. The phone rings and Evan rushes to answer it.
City remand centre which looks rather like the interior of Erinsborough hospital
Matt calls home and lets his dad know he is okay. Leo takes the phone from his dad to talk to Matt. Maggie wants to talk too but he says no, he hasn't got a lot of time and wants to talk to Emily. Leo hands the phone to Emily and tearfully he asks Emily to give Maggie a big kiss from him and to say that he is sorry. He adds that he lobes her before hanging up. Maggie seems a bit annoyed that Matt doesn't want to talk to her as she scoops Emily up onto her knee where Emily carries out what Matt asked her to do.
The Coffee Shop
Stu tells Dee that she's off the hook - it is over between them because he knows her heart isn't in it. Dee thanks him for having mature feelings and gives him a 'farewell' kiss. Stu hopes things aren't too weird in the future as Dee suggests that they head home but before they do Toadie comes in and tells them that Matt has been denied bail.
No. 32
Maggie gives Evan the good news that they've found a QC willing to defend Matt. Evan asks her what happens if Glen dies and the charge becomes manslaughter. "Anything's possible," replies Maggie before she adds that is why they've got a QC. Evan wonders then if that means Matt can get off and she replies that it is possible but Evan finishes her sentence when he adds that jail is more likely.
Maggie makes her way from the desk to sit next to Evan on the sofa and mentions that someone asked her earlier how she was feeling then she admits to him that she doesn't know how he is feeling. "I'm scared Maggie," admits Evan before wondering how they ended up in this situation. Maggie replies that she doesn't know before adding this is only the start and that they are going to be dragged through the court system; it isn't going to be nice and will probably take everything they've got. Evan simply says that they've got no choice that they simply have to find the money.
MAGGIE: And that's why we have to sell the house. Agreed?
EVAN: Agreed.
