Recap
Joe tells Lyn that he's had to lay off a second worker.
John Allen asks Lou if he can have his photo taken with Lolly to show her grandmother. Lou takes the photo.
The Coffee Shop
Harold is looking forward to the evening and suggests that everyone arrives early. He's confident that the council will approve his application to make his house into a homeless shelter.
At a table, Drew and Steph are talking about the extra $1000 she found in her account - she thinks it's creepy.
Harold asks Lou how Louise is getting on. Lou says she's going to the zoo with the school today.
Scullys
Joe has lost $2000 on a job - the concrete pour went wrong. He's worried about the business - quite a few people haven't paid up for work he's done.
The Garage
Drew arrives with some bits of wood to make a start on Libby's lightbox. He's still worried about the whole magazine venture though. Drew admires the motorcycle and sidecar - he says Steph is doing a great job. Steph has been to the bank and they told her the $1000 was deposited by "Steph Scully". She's still concerned about it.
Harold comes in and asks Drew if two of his homeless lads can come and talk to him about the sidecar race - they're into cars and need encouragement. Drew agrees.
Later at the Garage
Steph and Drew are telling Harold and the two homeless boys about the sidecar race. He also tells them that doing his mechanic's apprenticeship is the best thing he ever did.
The Coffee Shop
Joe is telling one of his debtors on the phone that he has to close his site down. Harold asks him to come to the homeless shelter meeting, but Joe is distracted by his business problems. Matt comes in and says he'll support Harold at the shelter meeting, but Maggie is worried about having odd people in the same road as her children.
Scullys
Joe is telling Lyn that he's had to stop work on two of his sites and lay off more men. He says he'll have to go back to driving the taxi.
The Coffee Shop
Lou and Lolly are in the Coffee Shop getting ready for Lolly's excursion. Just then John's wife Sandy comes in and Lolly runs to meet her. She gives Lolly a toy and thanks Lou for the photograph. She says it was a pure coincidence running into them. Lou is a bit suspicious though and takes Lolly off to her excursion.
The Pub
Lou rings John and tells him he's not going on the fishing trip after all, so he won't be able to have Lolly that weekend.
Scullys
Lyn is on the phone to her sister - Lyn's mum will be discharged from hospital this morning. Joe suggests that Lyn goes up to see her mother. Lyn doesn't see that she can get away at the moment, but Joe says they'll all be fine. Lyn agrees to go tomorrow.
Steph asks Joe why he's going to drive the taxi again. Joe says they need the money, but doesn't go into detail. He says they'll get through - they always do.
The Coffee Shop
Lou is telling Harold that he's cancelled his fishing trip - John keeps moving the goalposts with Lolly and he thinks things are getting out of hand. Harold says he might be over-reacting.
The Garage
Joe isn't sure how to control Michelle and Flick while Lyn is away and asks Steph to help. Just then there's a noise outside - someone has stolen the sidecar. Drew and Steph are gutted.
The Coffee Shop
Harold is nervous about the homeless shelter meeting, but Matt is encouraging him.
The Garage
Drew is talking to the police about the sidecar. Drew says that the owner will freak - it was worth $20,000. Steph tells Drew not to tell the owner yet - it might be recovered yet.
Lou's
Lou opens the door to Sandy. She says she's come to explain about the Coffee Shop - it really was a coincidence. She asks Lou if she can talk to him about the cancelled fishing trip.
The Coffee Shop
Steph thinks that the homeless kids are the prime suspects - they even showed them how to operate the sidecar that afternoon.
Lou's
Lou has reluctantly let Sandy in. She apologises for intruding in Lou's life. Sandy explains that she encouraged John to get in touch with his daughter. She'd like to find a way that they can all work together. But Lou says that he and Louise have managed well on their own up to now. Sandy insists that they don't want to take Lolly away from him. Lou says that even if that's true, the situation is potentially damaging for Lolly anyway. He says she needs consistency and stability - it's his decision to make as her father.
Sandy says she wants to tell Lou something - something she hasn't even told John. Lou goes to make some tea.
The Pub
Not many people have turned up to the homeless shelter meeting, much to Harold's dismay. However he starts the meeting by welcoming the councillors and introduce the residents of Ramsay Street. He explains that the Salvation Army works with normal young people who have had bad luck in life. He wants to help them to get back on their feet.
Drew comes in at that moment and says that the police are with him - they want to talk to Harold about the involvement of the homeless boys in the theft of the sidecar. Harold is forced to cancel the meeting.
Lou's
Sandy explains that she and John wanted to have their own child, but as it turns out Sandy is infertile. She only got the results back yesterday and hasn't told John yet. Lou asks Sandy why she's telling him this. Sandy says that Louise is the only child John is ever going to have - Lou must let John see his daughter. Lou gets angry and says that Lolly is NOT John's daughter - Lou is the one who has loved and cared for her all these years. He says he'll continue to do so until the day he dies. He says that Louise is HIS child - not Sandy's, and not John's.
