Karl telling Joel that his injuries might be serious, but they'll have to wait and see.
The Dominator Sports guy cancels Joel's sponsorship.
Joel is angry at Karl for telling the Dominator Sports guy about the potential for his leg.
Joel tries to walk on his leg, but collapses on the floor in pain.
Joel tries to get up. His mum comes in at that moment and helps him back into bed. He asks his mum how she knew he was there. She says she saw it in the paper in Tasmania. She presses the buzzer for a nurse. She asks Joel why his own mother was the last person to hear about him nearly getting killed!
Lily's nephew Gary gives Lily's papers back to Anne. He thanks her for telling him look at them, but they belong to Anne. As Gary is leaving, Phil asks how long he's staying for. He says he'll stay about another week to catch up with some old friends before going back to Perth.
When he's gone, Anne thinks it's strange that he brought the papers back when he was so keen to have them in the first place.
The nurse has sorted Joel out he might have made his injuries worse. Joel tells his mum that he didn't want her to worry. He tells her he'll stay in bed from now on. He tells his mum that's it's too early to tell whether his leg will make a complete recovery. His mother gives him a cuddle.
Susan is absolutely delighted to hear that Karl is going to get rid of the Thunderbird! She says he'd better go through with it or else! Bill says he should, grow old gracefully, like mum is.(!). Susan says she hopes a new car won't cost too much because the house needs repainting. Karl says he hasn't got time to do it, but Susan has already organised a contractor. She's going to get some quotes today. She shows Karl some colour possibilities.
Susan ruffles Bill's hair and tells him it's the exam results tomorrow. He does not look enthralled.
Karl tells Susan and Bill about the Dominator Sports guy pulling his sponsorship.
The Hospital Room
Joel introduces Susan to his mother. Joel apologises to Susan for what he said to Karl. She tells him not to worry about it it's forgotten.
Phil did not enjoy the St.John's Wort remedy! Bill comes in and asks Anne if she wants to hang out at his place tonight he's got the house to himself. He bribes her with various things including strawberries and cream for dessert!
The Hospital Room
Susan and Joel are getting on very well and Joel's mother looks a bit jealous. She tells Joel about Phil's wasp attack. Joel's mum says it sounds like there's never a dull moment in Ramsay Street(!). Anne comes in and introduces herself to Joel's mum. She says, So you're the girl who was involved in Joel's accident. Anne looks a bit put-out.
Joel's mum says Anne might have done Joel a favour she reckons he was wasting his time trying to make a career out of athletics. She thinks Joel should go to university and get his degree. Susan disagrees he has to do the triathlon while he's young, he can study later. There is a bit of an atmosphere in the room. Susan and Anne leave.
When they've gone Joel tells him mum off for upsetting his friends, and also his triathlon career isn't over until he says so. He asks his mum to stop interfering and to leave him alone for a bit.
Susan is getting a quote on the house. Joel's mum (Brenda) comes in a bit upset. Susan puts the kettle on.
Brenda tells Susan that her and Joel have always been able to rub each other up the wrong way. She says athletics careers are so short, and also she's blamed athletics from keeping Joel away from her.
Bill comes in and asks how to pronounce the name of a meal he's cooking for Anne it's French. He goes out to buy ingredients. Susan says if he's passing the pub, to make a reservation for her and Karl for 7.30pm.
Susan tells Brenda that everyone has problems with their kids. This cheers Brenda up a bit.
Lily's nephew Gary is probing Lily's friend Mildred for information about Lily he's trying to get her to say that Lily was vague before her death. But Mildred says she was bright, although she did tell some tall stories and had a few fantasies.
Anne and Bill are talking about Gary. Bill wonders why he never showed his face until after Lily died. Anne starts tickling Bill. They are clearly looking forward to their evening together.
The Coffee Shop
Lily's friend Mildred comes in. Harold asks her if she's been drinking! She tells Harold that she had lunch with Lily's nephew. She says that she doesn't understand why Lily was always so suspicious of that side of her family. Mildred says Gary was so interested in hearing about everything Lily did. Phil and Harold look worried. Mildred tells Phil that Gary is worried that Lily went senile before she died. Phil looks even more worried.
Phil tells Harold that he reckons Gary will contest the will he's dodgy.
Bill is putting the finishing touches to the dinner for him and Anne. He answers the door to her. They are very tactile with each other. Anne compliments him on the dinner he has prepared.
Susan is making a toast, To the Thunderbird! May she end up on a scrapheap which is where the old bomb deserves to be(!). Karl looks pained. He says the car was a wonder in its time! Karl tells Susan that it's too expensive to have the house repainted. He also says it'll be chaos with paint pots and sheets everywhere. Susan says it will only take 3 days, and also she won't be there. She is going on a principal's development course for two weeks. Karl gets cross with her and tells her that she planned them to coincide, despite her protests. Susan says if the paint fumes get too much for him he could go outside or he could just chill out in the fumes!
Joel's mum has come back. She apologises for coming on so heavily earlier on. She says she's going to head back home now that she knows he's being taken care of. She hopes he'll come and visit when he's better. Joel asks her to stay a bit longer and she readily agrees. She sits down and asks Joel to tell her all about what happened with Sally!
Anne is complementing Bill on the main course. He tells her dessert is yet to come and also opens a bottle of champagne. It goes all over Anne and in retaliation she shakes the bottle at him it goes everywhere. Bill takes off his drenched shirt and chases Anne around the living room. They falls on some conveniently-placed cushions and start kissing. At that moment Susan comes in and see Bill shirtless on top of Anne!
