No.30
Joel is walking around in a towel and is surprised to see Sally there – apparently Toadie let her in. Sally tells him her car is still broken down. Joel says she should take it to Drew but Sally can't afford it. He says they can just get a quote and see how much it will be.
Martins
Phil and Ruth are getting amorous in the kitchen. Ruth kills the mood by talking about setting up her consulting rooms at No.32! Phil says it's uneconomical - they could rent out the house and make some money instead. Ruth clearly doesn't want to let her old house go.
At the vet
The vet is showing Hannah a black cat called Danger. The vet's assistance comes in late and the vet is cross with her. Hannah tells the assistant she bets his bark is worse than his bite but the assistant says, “Don't you believe it”.
The Coffee Shop
Harold says Portia has a hidden agenda in trying to get rid of Madge. Madge decides she'll stay with the team and wait for an opportunity for revenge. Harold says she should think of it more as leading Portia into the light. Madge says, “Yeah, where I can get a clear shot at her!”
The Garage
Joel brings Sally's car into Drew. Drew says the muffler has gone. He says for mate's rates it'll cost $150. Joel writes Drew a cheque for the money.
The Coffee Shop
Madge and Harold have laid on a free lunch for the Grey Growlers. They hold a team meeting. Portia steamrolls the meeting, dictating some changes to the team. She says Hilary will be playing at the game next week. Madge says Hilary shouldn't play if she can't be bothered to turn up to practice and that it's very unfair.
The Pub
Joel tells Sally that he wrote a cheque for the repairs to her car. Drew jokes that Joel is trying to buy her affection!
Martins
Phil has put No.32 on the rental market. Ruth is not very pleased – she still doesn't have a consulting room. Phil suggests she ask Karl if she can come back to the surgery. Ruth isn't keen to ask him as she broke the lease last time.
The Pub
Drew goes back to the garage – he hasn't started the repairs to Sally's car yet. Sally is cross with Joel but he can't work out what he's done. He goes to pay for the meal they've just eaten and Sally tells him he's doing it again. He still doesn't know what he's done. Sally tells him to think about it.
At the vet
The vet has got a cat with broken glass in his foot and tells Hannah that all teenagers are no good! Hannah tries to hold the cat while the vet extracts the glass.
The Garage
Sally asks Drew to tears up the cheque Joel gave him. Sally says he doesn't need anyone paying her pay. Drew says it was a loan but Sally says she doesn't care. Drew gives her back the cheque.
The Coffee Shop
Harold gets a telephone call from Paul's father saying that Paul is on his way home. Madge and Harold are puzzled. Harold goes to pick up Paul from the airport.
No.30
Sally gives Joel back his cheque. She says she doesn't want to be in debt to anyone. They agree to pay their own way in the future.
Bishops
Harold and Paul are back from the airport. Paul says that his father had to work so Paul had to come home early. Paul seems a bit down. He goes over to Hannah's.
Martins
Paul has come to see Hannah, but she's still at the vet.
At the vet
The vet has come to put down a dog. Hannah gets very upset and storms out crying.
Bishops
Madge and Harold ask Paul if he's OK because he seems a bit upset. They ask if Paul's father is drinking again. Paul says he isn't, but the drinking is the reason his father had to work – noone else would give him a job. Paul is disappointed he couldn't spend more time with his father.
