Recap
- Karl fires Harold after telling him that he is an un-Christian hypocrite.
Backyard/Alley of No. 24
Paul and Patrick Greenwood sneak out to weigh a rabbit; Paul tells Patrick that they will say it is a science project if anybody asks.
Coffee Shop
Madge is surprised that Harold has finished work at the surgery so early, and asks him how 'our friend' Karl is going, and Harold comments that the term may not be appropriate. Madge figures that Harold had a chat with Karl about his personal life; Harold confirms that he did and that he has been fired. Madge tells Harold off, saying that Karl needs sympathy not condemnation.
Lance walks into the CS with his grass seeds (school experiment) which Harold had previously promised that he could keep in the CS fridge for him.
No. 32
Anne describes how she found Fred when he passed away, and Billy finds it creepy. Anne asks how Susan is and we're told that she keeps cleaning things. Billy is berating himself for not seeing it coming, but Anne says that you can't; it was the same when it happened with her dad.
Garage
Lou wants to name the garage "Carpenters Mechanics", rejects Drew's mobile lube idea. They catch Paul and Patrick rummaging around the back where the metal scraps are.
No. 32
Billy and Anne talk about their school projects. Phil arrives and suggests that Anne and Lance start to move their things over to No. 26 to save Ruth the trouble when she gets home. Phil enlists the help of Billy and Karl to move heavy things, but Billy says that Phil will need to ask Karl himself. Anne suggests that she bring Phil up to date on what's been happening.
Garage
Drew looks through the list of items that Paul and Patrick need for their 'school project', and tells them that he'll see what he can do and to come back in an hour or so. After they leave, Lou and Drew agree that it's definitely not for a school project...but if they're making money off his junk, Lou wants a piece of it!
Coffee Shop
Billy arrives to start on his project - designing plans for the CS kitchen. Madge is happy to be of help. Harold steps out of the kitchen and asks to have a private word with Billy. He tells Billy that if he, Libby or Susan need any help, they only need to ask. He doesn't condone with what Karl is doing...and Billy berates Harold for not minding his own business.
Lou's Pub
Drew jokes that his drink should be 'on the house' because he's a mate, but Libby comments that she hears that one quite often. She tells him that she went down to the newspaper and was like a 'one woman firing squad' and isn't afraid of the consequences as she has another job anyway. Drew tells Libby that Lou is giving him the run-around about the mobile lube idea, and Libby says that one day when he has his own garage, he can have as many mobile lubes as he wants.
Coffee Shop
Harold is sticking to his principles, although he realises that he made a blunder with Billy. Madge tells him that she is all for his high principles, but most people find it difficult to live up to high principles, and sometimes when they judge, it may come off as arrogant.
No. 24 Driveway
Paul and Patrick are testing their experiment. Phil walks past and asks what they're doing, but Patrick tells him it's nothing.
No. 32
Lance and Anne are packing and sorting out what they want to keep and throw. They come past an old family photo and Lance calls their father a jerk. Phil comes in and sees the photo - Lance and Anne look a little awkward, but Phil comments that they should put it in an album because memories are important. Phil offers to drive Anne to the police station to make her statement about Fred's death.
No. 32 Driveway
Paul and Patrick are still testing, and Phil walks past again and still gets the 'nothing' response.
Lou's Pub
Libby is on the phone with Erinsborough News. When she gets off the phone, she tells Drew that she's been offered a permanent part-time position, which is better than what she has at Eden Hills. Drew questions why she said on the phone that she needed to think about it? Libby says Karl drummed it into her that she should never jump at the first opportunity. She wishes she could speak to Karl and get his advice - Drew wants to know what's stopping her?
No. 28
Anne counsels Billy about Karl's affair - she relates how she felt when her dad had an affair and when her parents split up. Billy wants everything to go back to how they were, but Anne says that everything can only go forward.
Garage
Harold walks past the garage deep in thought. Lou tells him to spit it out - Harold says that most people view him as 'arrogant', and a 'pompous puritan'. Would he agree? Lou stalls a little before saying that the people are 'dead right'. But, he's loveable!
Outside Coffee Shop
Harold laments that people don't like him because he's pompous and arrogant. Madge says that people like him because he is generous, honest...although sometimes they dislike him because he is tiresome and opinionated - but only sometimes. Harold has learnt his lesson after being a bull-in-the-china-shop with Karl and Billy.
No. 26
Lance tells Phil that Anne has a tendency to disappear when there is work to be done - well, it's an advantage because now Lance can choose the biggest bedroom!
On Ramsay Street
Paul and Patrick have finished their rocket, but they can't pull the lever. Harold walks past and helps them - but when the ball is launched, it breaks a windows.
No. 28
Billy and Anne are still chatting about Harold, and they agree that he is OK despite his judgemental side. Billy gives Anne a hug, just because he needs one every now and then, 'especially now'.
