Susan is writing a keynote speech for a conference she's attending on the weekend. She asks Ruth how the organisation for the wedding is going. Ruth asks Bill if he'll play his violin at the wedding. Susan says she has ways of making him play!
Karl comes in and asks Ruth how she's feeling – she's still waiting for the results of her biopsy.
Hannah is trying to get Joel to have a cup of tea(!). Joel tells Phil he has a business idea for the horse and caravan. Phil says they'll discuss it after the wedding is over.
Ruth's dress was damaged when she leant it to a friend. Anne suggests she skive off school to go shopping with Ruth! Anne wants to get Phil and Ruth a wedding present, but can't think what.
Ruth tells Phil that her parents can't make it to the wedding because they live too far away. But Ben is coming.
Susan is stocking the cupboards so the boys can feed themselves while she's away at the conference. Susan tells Bill about playing at the wedding. She suggests he do it for free, but Bill says he's perfectly happy to get paid(!).
Libby has got a meeting with her editor coming up.
Nick and Caitlin are packing to go back to Adelaide. Toadie suggests to Bill that he moves into No.30 when Nick and Caitlin have gone.
The Coffee Shop
Toadie is extolling the virtues of life at No.30 to Bill. Caitlin reminds him that he needs peace and quiet to study because he's repeating Year 12 already. She gives Bill a reality check by reminding him about the bills he'll need to pay.
Anne and Ruth are back from shopping. Ruth is still distracted about the biopsy results. Ruth tells Anne tenderly that she's a very beautiful young woman.
Phil is worrying he's forgotten to organise something for the wedding.
The Coffee Shop
Hannah is telling Anne that she can't think of anything to give Ruth and Phil for a wedding present. Anne tells her she and Lance are in the same boat. Suddenly Anne thinks of something – to make one of Ruth's dreams come true.
Joel is telling Hannah and Anne that he can help with Anne's idea.
Caitlin has just finished touching up her room with paint. Nick tells her she has to do it all!
Outside the Coffee Shop
Bill is busking to raise money for rent(!). A man walks past and requests that he play “Amazing Grace”. Toadie suddenly starts singing along – he has a really good voice!
Phil tells Ruth that Toadie and Bill should both perform at the wedding!
Hannah tells Phil and Ruth that they've got a surprise for them and she needs to know the venue for the wedding. Phil suddenly realise that he's forgotten to book one!
Susan is just finishing her speech. Libby is going to a meeting with her editor. Susan tests out her speech on Karl. While she is reading it, Karl seems distracted. Susan gets cross with him.
Phil is stressing about not booking a place for the ceremony – everything will be booked now. Ruth says maybe the reason he “forgot” is because deep down he knew it wasn't going to happen. Ruth says she doesn't want to marry him because it's not fair on him. She'd have no worries if she knew the lump was benign though. Phil says she'll just have to get the results after the wedding so she can't back out – he wants to marry her, full stop. He tells Ruth she has five seconds to tell him where they're having the ceremony. He counts slowly to five. Finally Ruth says besides the lake at Lassiters.
Karl apologies to Susan for being distracted. Susan says he's been distracted a lot lately. Karl says he's just tired.
Libby comes in and angrily tells them that she's been sacked! She says she'll fight her editor all the way on it.
