Recap
- Toadie accidentally broadcasts an open invitation to a party at his house.
- Toadie and Nick return home to huge crowds of people chanting Toadie's name.
Number 30
Caitlin shouts outside at the crowd through the door, telling them that there is no party here. Toadie and Nick come in and feign ignorance about why the crowd is there, while the crowd continues to chant Toadie's name. Toadie's boss, Tony, is at the door and Toadie lets him in. Tony says it was a great idea to announce it on the air, then excitedly lets everyone in. Toadie gets into the party spirit and starts opening beers.
Number 32
Ben sits on the sofa watching TV while Billy, Anne, Lance and Amy decide what to do tonight, loudly squabbling amongst themselves. Ben tries to get their attention and has to raise the volume on the TV just to do it. Caitlin arrives, carrying Bob, and tells them that there is a party at their place that Toadie announced on the air. She tells them Sarah doesn't know about it yet as she's still at the library. Amy and the gang head to the party, with Lance commenting that Toadie is a legend. Caitlin leaves Bob at the house, while she and Ben go to the party too.
Number 30
Someone, perhaps Tony, has covered themselves in toilet paper. Some guy (Mark) chats up Amy about the courses he is doing at Uni and Amy is clearly bored and jumps at the chance to escape when Anne returns with drinks. She sees Lance and joins him, while Anne and Billy tell Toadie it's a great party. A girl (Trudy) asks to change the music and Toadie agrees. Caitlin and Ben arrive, Ben tells Nick off for not letting him and Sarah know about the party. The music changes, and Toadie disagrees with the new music choice and goes to sort it out.
Ramsay Street (next morning)
A couple are making out against the tree (it's Mark and Trudy), while Toadie starts sending people on their way. Karl arrives and sarcastically thanks Toadie for the outrageous noise last night and asks if Billy is at the party before going inside to look for him.
Number 30
Caitlin is cleaning up while shooing people out of the house. Karl arrives looking for Billy. Caitlin asks Karl not to tell Sarah about the state of the house, as she wasn't very happy when she came home and saw the party last night. Karl calls out for Billy, who walks into the hall, shirtless and hungover. Karl tells Billy off for not even giving him a phone call to say where he is, but agrees to talk to Billy about it later. As Karl leaves, Toadie and Nick enter, planning what they're going to have for breakfast.
The Coffee Shop
Lance and Amy sit down with a coffee when Toadie and Nick arrive. Lance tells Toadie he's fixing the broken soccer table today, and he says that Lou's going to put it in the pub when it's up and running. Lance says once it's up and running he won't have to share the profits or make repayments, all the money will go straight into his pocket. Toadie doesn't sound convinced and leaves them to have breakfast with Nick. Amy didn't realise the table was so close to being ready, but Lance says it isn't, he was lying. He can't afford to get it restored.
Number 30
Caitlin thanks Anne for helping tidy up. Nick and Toadie arrive.
TOADIE: See, what did I tell you? I knew if we were away long enough, they would clean up for us.
Catlin refuses to tidy any more, putting the rubbish bag on Toadie and Nick's laps, telling them to do the rest of the tidying. Nick tells Caitlin to lighten up, but Caitlin lectures him on telling her off last week and supposedly being a good example to her. Nick angrily tells Caitlin to let it go. Anne gives Toadie a set of empty beer bottles as she and Caitlin leave. Caitlin tells them that Sarah has called to tell them where the carpet cleaner is.
Number 32
Ben tells Geoff about how Toadie accidentally made the invitation over the air. Geoff notes that at least they know people are listening to him. Lance and Amy arrive to have some breakfast as they couldn't afford breakfast at the Coffee Shop. Lance asks Ben for a loan, but Ben hasn't been working so probably has less money than Lance does. Lance explains to Geoff why he needs a loan, and explains that he thinks the indoor football table will be a goldmine. Geoff offers to make an investment to get 10% of the profits. Lance wants to think about it but Amy convinces him to go for it.
The Coffee Shop
Anne and Caitlin join Billy, explaining that they've left Toadie with the cleaning up. Caitlin moans about Nick. She offers to get Anne some food before they head out to the cinema. Billy tells Anne he thought he'd never see her and Caitlin being friends, but Anne is okay with Caitlin now she isn't always trying to crack on to Billy. Anne thinks now that Billy is back at school, its best that they all just get over it.
Surgery
Karl hangs up a medical poster about skin cancer, while chatting to Sarah. Sarah hopes Karl knows that she had nothing to do with the party at her place. Sarah thinks some of the pictures in the posters look horrible and they both talk about the danger of skin cancer. Sarah is shocked to read that the risk of developing skin cancer is greatly increased if you've been sunburnt more than twice in your life.
SARAH: When I was in school we used to rub ourselves in cooking oil and lay in the sun for hours.
KARL: Yes well, oil and heat is a good recipe for cooking potatoes. You apply it to your skin you have a potential disaster on your hands.
Uni FM
Toadie and Nick look through some records.
Meanwhile a girl (Karen) approaches the receptionist in the office next door (the receptionist is credited in this episode as Sally having previously been known as Joy but is known as Sally in later episodes, so I'm going to go with Sally.) Karen says she's obsessed with one of the DJs, Toadie. She asks to know a bit more about him, where he hangs out, if he has a girlfriend. Sally shows her the way to Toadie's booth so she can chat to him herself.
In Toadie's booth, Toadie asks Nick to man the controls while he sorts out the wiring on the other side of the table. Nick puts on sunglasses and headphones and sits down, just as Karen arrives, looks through the glass and assumes that Nick is Toadie.
Karen tells Sally that Toadie was kind of cute. She says she was too nervous to talk to him and will maybe come back another day. After she leaves, Toadie arrives. He greets the receptionist as Sally, (repeatedly referring to her as Joy, seriously confusing me in the process.) Sally tells him about the fan who was very keen on him and thinks she'll be back.
Surgery
Sarah sits at her desk, checking her shoulder in the mirror. Karl leaves his room having finished a consultation with a patient. Karl asks Sarah what she was doing, and she explains she was trying to check a mole on her back and is very worried because she spent ages in the sun as a kid. Karl offers to have a look at it for her at the end of the day after all his appointments. She agrees.
Number 32
Lance gets off the phone to 'Hobby Shop' and tells Amy that they'll be able to fix up the table and it'll be less expensive than they thought. They might even have $100 left from Geoff's money. Amy wants them to go shopping with it. She tries to convince Lance that they shouldn't tell Geoff about the change.
Uni FM
While on air, Karen calls into the show and tells Toadie that she came by earlier. Karen tells Toadie that she loves his show. Toadie plays a record but keeps Karen on the line.
NICK: Why Toadie, you're looking a little excited.
TOADIE: Come on, she is hot for me. Hey Kazza, Are you still there?
KAREN: As if I'd hang up on you.
NICK: I thought they might have carted her off to a mental asylum by now.
KAREN: Is someone else there with you?
TOADIE: No, no, just the cleaner.
Karen says she saw him when she came in and he was cute. Toadie suggests they meet at the Coffee Shop later.
Number 32
Lance and Amy return from the shop with the pieces for the table. Geoff offers to lend a hand fixing it. Geoff leaves. Amy shows Ben some clothes and earrings she has bought, saying she spent it with leftover money. Ben is outraged that they've spent Geoff's money. He gave that money in good faith and they've abused that trust. Ben tells them to take the stuff back or Lance should pay him back out of his own pocket. Amy refuses to take the stuff back.
Surgery
Sarah arrives telling Karl there are no more appointments and the last patient just left. Sarah is concerned as the skin cancer leaflet says she should check the mole regularly for changes in size but she can't do that if it's on her back. Karl brings out a camera, saying he'll take a picture of the mole and do a trace of it so he can check its size.
KARL: Okay, we'll have to have a look at the mole now. Just yank your top off for me.
Sarah looks uneasy.
