Number 32
Lance tells Toadie that he hates fighting with Amy, but Toadie reminds him that it's only pretend. Lance wonders if that was how she would really be like if it was for real, but Toadie assures him that she isn't going to dump him. His plan is foolproof!
Amy arrives and apologises for saying those awful things about Lance - she hates all the yelling. The tricky part of their plan is still to come - getting a confession out of Jacinta. It's more likely she will brag about it now Amy has 'finished' with Lance and they are back to being good mates. But if they are to convince Mrs Kennedy, they'll have to tape it.
Number 26
Madge looks at Helen's portrait of Rueben and then to a photo of her and Rosemary. Debbie hands her a mug of tea as Philip comforts Hannah who's in tears at the kitchen table. Phil asks Debbie if she's alright and kisses her forehead. Debbie talks about calling people - Michael for instance. Phil says she doesn't have to do that yet, but she needs to make a start with the funeral arrangements. Hannah asks tearfully how she can be so calm about it- it isn't business. Debbie says she knows that, and Phil tells Hannah these things have to be done. Madge tells her it's Debbie's way of coping. Harold offers help with the funeral arrangements and Phil gratefully accepts, saying it would be a big help. It's the least they can do, says Harold, but what about the eulogy? Phil asks him to do it and Harold is deeply honoured.
Madge asks if they'll come back to the house after the funeral and it's decided they will. Debbie will take care of the food. Hannah says how can they talk about food - are they organising a party? Debbie says people just want to meet to celebrate their grandmother's life. Hannah doesn't want a party - she wants her back.
Number 32
Toadie pitches the idea that he wears a wire, then he and Amy corner Jacinta and get her to confess. But Jacinta won't confess with him around. Then Amy should wear a wire, says Toadie. Amy says why can't they hide it somewhere instead - a book in the library for instance. But what if she confesses elsewhere asks Toadie. Amy says it'll be low thing to do but Toadie reminds her what Jacinta did to Lance was low. Lance reasons that if Jacinta didn't do it then she won't confess and nothing will happen.
Number 24
Harold, Madge and Claire sit round the table. Harold is praying:
'Dear Lord, we know that our friend Helen is with you. Please give strength to her family and let her wisdom and kindness light our paths in the future. Amen.'
Madge has left a message for Scott and Charlene to call them later. Claire asks how Hannah is. Harold says she is very upset and Madge adds that she was really close to Helen. Claire says she might talk to her tomorrow. Madge thinks that's a good idea - it will mean more coming from her as one of her friends.
The Coffee Shop
Toadie and Lance walk in before school. Lance is in his civvies, still on suspension. Toadie says he would make the most of it if he was Lance and hire some videos or something. Lance says he won't enjoy having to catch up.
He's going to go and see some teachers and Susan has cleared it. They see Hannah sitting at table, in casual clothes, and go over. They tell her they're sorry. Hannah doesn't respond and Toadie asks if she's going anywhere, spotting her back-pack on the seat opposite her. She isn't. They say if she needs anything, they're here. Toadie adds that Mrs D had a good life. Hannah stands up and asks what does it matter now - she isn't hereany more. She takes her rucksack and storms out.
Number 26
Debbie and Phil are drying dishes. Debbie says that, in every room, it feelslike she's still here - how are they going to manage without her? If it wasn't for Helen, Debbie wouldn't have had the business. Phil says he woke at 3 a.m. and heard her voice as clear as bell. It's as if yesterday was all a dream, and today they will go to the hospital as usual. He feels like they've just changed her room or something. Debbie looks over to Holly, saying she knows. She asks how Hannah is doing. Phil hasn't seen her - shemust still be sleeping in after being so upset yesterday. Debbie decides tobrush Holly, but can't find the brush. As she looks for it she comes across a letter - Hannah has run away.
Number 24
Harold says Debbie must want time off and offers to pitch in, but Madge has already arranged some casual workers to take care of it. Anyway Harold has hands full with the funeral arrangements. Claire is going to go and see Hannah before school and Madge tells her to be patient with her. Just as she's about to walk out there's a knock at the door - it's Phil. He asks Claire is she's seen Hannah and explains that she's run away - he got aletter. He says he should have seen it coming but Madge tells him not to blame himself. Phil asks Claire again if she knows anything, but she doesn't. She will go and ask around Hannah's friends though. Phil is worried - Hannah is in no piece of mind to be alone.
Erinsborough High School
Lance observes that Hannah was pretty upset earlier and Toadie doesn't blame her - how would Lance feel if one of his family fell off the perch? Lance retorts that he wouldn't discuss it with him, that's for sure. Jacinta comes round the corner and asks what Lance is doing at school while on his suspension. Lance tries to speak to Amy but she angrily tells him he's a creep. When they've left Lance tells Toadie that Amy was a bit harsh. Claire appears and asks if they've seen Hannah. They tell her about the Coffee Shop incident. Claire asks whether she said where she was going. 'Not exactly', says Toadie, then his face lights up as if he's just had an idea.
Number 26
Phil is on the phone to Susan and promises to call later with any news. He's panicking about Hannah now. There is a knock at the door and Debbie hopes it could be news. They are surprised to see Michael standing there - he drove through the night. They fill him in on Hannah running away. Phil wonders about phoning the police but it's too early. Michael is sure she will come back herself. If not by later that day then they'll start to look. Phil says he guesses he can wait a bit longer.
The Coffee Shop
Harold comes in as Madge clears tables. He's confirmed everything with Phil and Hannah still hasn't appeared but Michael is home. Harold has been trying to do a Eulogy but it's been difficult to condense a life so rich and varied. Madge promises to give him a hand with it this evening. The phone rings and it's Susan. Claire didn't turn up for school. Madge thinks it looks like she knows where Hannah is.
The Cubbyhouse
Toadie leads Claire to the Cubbyhouse where he and Hannah used to hang out. When they come to the door he announces their arrival and promises not to hassle her. Hannah opens the door, her face red with crying. They say Phil is really worried about her, but Hannah says he'll get over it. She asks why people can't leave her alone - after all, she left a note. Claire says they're her friends and want to help her. Hannah tells them she doesn't needbabysitting - can't she just be alone? Toadie decides to go back to school and tells Hannah to take it easy, reassuringly squeezing her arm. Claire goes into the house and finds a photo album. Hannah says she should tell her she's acting like a child, but Claire admits she was worse when her own grandmother died. It's still sad for her, it felt like a trick and it took time to get over. Hannah decides to leave the Cubbyhouse as people might find her here. Claire asks to come with her.
Erinsborough High School
Amy catches up with Lance in the corridor and kisses him. He's going home and she apologises for before. Toadie sees them and demands to know what they're doing - one of Jacinta's spies could see them! All of a sudden Amy starts to shout at him and Jacinta appears, calling Toadie and Lance losers.
When they've left Lance gloomily asks how much longer can this go on. Toadie tells him it won't be long - he is wiring Amy up this afternoon.
Lou's Garage
Claire removes a bit of the office window so she and Hannah can break in. She assures Hannah that they can put it back when they leave.
Erinsborough High School
In a classroom Toadie fits Amy with a wire and jokingly asks whether he could be the next James Bond. Amy says if Jacinta sees this, she'll kill her! Toadie asks does she still want her as a friend after what she did? Lance is counting on her to clear him.
Erinsborough High School
In class the bell rings. Amy is sitting next to Jacinta. Jacinta says Lance is such a jerk and Amy should have listened to her. Amy tells her she's worked something out and Jacinta is such a little scammer! Jacinta is confused. Amy says maybe it was Mitch then who did the photocopying, as he's good at scams. Jacinta says as if Mitch could pull off a scam like that! So it was you, Amy says. Mitch helped, but Jacinta was the one who did it. Amy wants to make sure for the tape: she repeats that Jacinta was the one who switched the pages on Lance's newsletter to get Jacinta to confirm it. Jacinta agrees but don't tell the whole world! Amy smiles.
Number 26
Phil asks Madge and Harold why Claire didn't bring Hannah home when she found her. Madge says Hannah might not be ready to come home yet and Claire has stayed with her. Phil wants to go and find them before it's too dark. Madge and Harold tell them to stay home in case of she phones and they'll go out looking instead. Just as they open the door they run into Rosemary, who tells them she was not expecting Madge to be the first person saw, but she is a welcome sight nonetheless. Phil wishes Rosemary's visit could been for a happier occasion and Rosemary wonders if she should have come back when Helen first fell ill. Madge, Harold, Debbie and Michael leave. Phil fills Rosemary in on Hannah. Rosemary insists he goes out and looks too. She will be here in case in of any phone calls. Phil goes to check the Cubbyhouse and Rosemary is left alone in the empty house.
Lou's Garage
As Hannah and Claire look through the photo album they hear a lorry reversing. It stops, blocking the door they came through. They go to the garage doors on the opposite side of the room where there's a note - the truck has been left outside for Lou. But they can't fit through space between the truck and the building and Lou isn't back for a week! Claire says 'Alors, we are trapped!' Hannah looks away, worried.
