Mark wonders what's going on with Ren and Luke.
Angie, Kev, Cody and Stonie celebrate Stonie's 21st birthday
Sam and Annalise can't understand why Mal and Danni's parents have allowed them to move in together.
Mal and Danni move into No.32 but there's no furniture, electric or telephone! But Mal says they'll make a go of it.
Mal and Danni are having takeaway pizza for their first night, but vow from now on it's going to be cheap home cooking. But unfortunately they're short of money. Luke jokes that they can wash the dishes but then lets them off the rest of the bill. They are very grateful. Ren comes in and awkwardly orders some food from Luke.
Stonie has really enjoyed his 21st celebration and thanks Cody, Angie and Kev.
Mal and Danni are eating pizza by candlelight and Danni is moaning her head off. She says they're supposed to be studying - and anyway they haven't got any furniture! She is diabetic after all and is meant to be looking after herself. Mal is optimistic though and says they will manage.
Annalise is spying on the flickering candlelight in the window of No.32. Sam wonders how Mal and Danni can afford the place and grill Marlene for details. She says she's just about to take them a casserole over, so she can get the details then. Annalise says she'll accompany Marlene.
Phil is explaining to Helen and Jen that Karl is just giving the kids enough rope to hang themselves by letting them rent No.32. Jen thinks it's not a very nice thing to do and thinks his plan might backfire - in fact, she hopes it does!
Marlene and Annalise have arrived with the casserole for Mal and Danni, who are very grateful. Danni offers them a seat on her futon and tells them that everything is OK. They all laugh unconvincingly. Annalise accidentally stands in the remains of the pizza and cringes.
Ren and Luke make awkward smalltalk. Kev, Angie, Cody and Stonie head home for a sing-song, although Cody looks a bit worried.
Jen comes in and notices that Luke is preoccupied. He doesn't really want to talk about it and tells her off for being nosey. He finally admits that he's having problems with Ren - he really likes her but doesn't want to be in a couple.
Danni runs into the living room screaming that there's no hot water. Mal suggests they go to the Coffee Shop for breakfast, but Danni points out that they have no money. Mal answers the door to Phil who has come to drop in the condition report for the house for them. Danni tells him how much she loves the house and then Mal steps in the remains of the pizza too(!)
Luke comes in having been out all night and sits down with Ren. She tells him that she waited up for him. Luke thinks they should talk about their relationship - he's not sure that they're doing the right thing. Not just because they're housemates, but because they're very different people. He wants to be free to do what he wants and Ren says she's fine with that - she wants that too. It's a bit of a weird conversation. Luke goes off to bed and Red looks troubled.
Cody is heading off for a study day. Marlene has found Sam's gnome down at the bus stop again. Cody tells them that it was Stonie's 21st birthday yesterday. Annalise is determined to find out what's going on at No.32.
Annalise has popped around to see Phil, but only Helen is there - she's planning Reuben's memorial garden. Annalise tells Helen that she and Sam were hoping to rent the house and think it's strange that Mal and Danni have got the house. Helen tells her about Karl's plan for Mal and Danni to fall flat on their faces. She thinks it's a bit mean on Karl's part and so does Annalise. Annalise is angry that she and Sam had to miss out on the house just because Karl is playing silly games.
Back of the bric-a-brac Shop
Marlene is talking to a cat (Colonel Parker) but Sam still doesn't believe that the cat exists. Marlene says the cat is shy. Sam thinks Marlene needs help(!) Marlene is appalled and insists angrily that she isn't crazy.
Luke asks Ren to mind the shop as he has to rush out for an hour to see an old friend. Mal comes in while he's leaving and asks Luke if he's got any part-time work. Luke tells him to see him later.
Marlene is putting together a box of bric-a-brac for Danni and Mal. Annalise isn't very pleased and tells Marlene that they wanted to rent the house themselves. Marlene gets angry and says that Danni is her grand-daughter and she'll give her any help she wants to. Anyway, Annalise and Sam never told her they wanted to move out.
Sam is asking Helen if she's ever seen Colonel Parker the cat. Helen admits she hasn't, but Marlene isn't doing any harm. Sam is also worried about the garden gnome and thinks Marlene is losing it.
SAM: You don't think it's...well, Alzheimer's or something.
HELEN: Oh, Sam, heavens no!
Sam isn't so sure. He's worried about moving out and leaving Marlene on her own.
Outside the Pub
Phil, Jen, Cody and Stonie are having a belated drink to celebrate Stonie's 21st. Stonie says he didn't want to tell people as he's still at school and it's a bit embarrassing. Cody gives Stonie some drunsticks as a present.
Luke comes over and tells Jen that an old friend has turned up - it's Brook. Jen hugs Brook excitedly and Phil looks on.
