Jen is also there and says that Lucy has got a point - he's not with his smart-mouthed mates at Uni now. Then Jo and her father come in. Jo glowers at Luke in a fit of bad acting and tells him he went too far. Luke is unrepentant and says that people believe in lies which get them hurt. For example, his sister Morgan died - she believed in all the right things, but nothing helped her - not religion, not medicine, nothing. He gets angry and says that there's no higher power and people should accept that.

Susan comes over for a word with Cheryl. Cheryl tells her she knew nothing about the sheep rustling, but Susan doesn't care, she thinks the whole thing is hysterical. She's more interested in talking about Danni and Mal. They laugh that they were much the same at their age. Susan suggests a formal meeting - she finds it really works for them as a family. Then they chat about Karl's father who's a Marxist - even Karl's name is Marxist! Karl has since entirely rebelled against it.

No.28
KARL: Let me get this straight. You needed a sheep to make your dog run.
Lou and Phil enthusiastically tell him about Cassie's win. Karl says he's sure Lou wouldn't want it to get out that the Mayor of Erinsborough has been rustling sheep, so they'd better give him a percentage of Suede Tess's winnings. Lou and Phil are not happy but are forced to agree. Karl says he'll get his lawyer to draw up a legal agreement! Susan tries not to laugh in the background.
When they've gone, Karl cracks up laughing.
KARL: If people raid your back yard, you can't show any weakness!
