- Kim asks Debbie to come down to the salon so he can practice some styles for the competition.
- Brett and Lata practice for the school play and end up kissing.
- Debbie gets upset at the Salon, believing the stylists think she's ugly.
Kim runs after Debbie who is crying, assuring her that she's paranoid. He gets quite angry with her and tells her to grow up. Debbie calls a taxi and Kim slams the door, saying he should have got someone from an agency!
Beth tells Gaby that Moina is coming to stay with her for a bit. Moina starts on some old tales, but is interrupted by Doug and Cody.
Doug and Cody come in with fish and chips and Moina says she can't possibly eat potatoes as a green potato killed her husband(!)
DOUG: It's only a few chips!
MOINA: Only a few chips! You could lead the devil astray, Doug Willis!
Danni has got a few girls round and they are chatting. Danni is convinced she's going to get the lead role in the school play.
Debbie comes in upset and Helen tells her that Kim has called twice. Debbie realised part- way home that she didn't have any money and had to walk most of the way.
DEBBIE: I got there, and there were all these mirrors, you know? And Vanessa and Nadine started laughing at me...
HELEN: Oh, darling. This isn't something that can be cured overnight. But you have your friends and your family to help you. Kim obviously is very fond of you. And he was very sorry that he lost his temper.
DEBBIE: Yeah...he needs support too, and I just ran out on him.
HELEN: Not too late to change your mind.
Moina is putting Doug, Cody and Beth off their chips by talking about the potato famine(!)
Pam comes in and says her shift at the nursing home was awful - they got her do all the awful jobs nobody else wanted to do.
MOINA: It's your own fault for resigning the way you did. You've always been the same. Never think things through properly. Same thing happened when you got married.
DOUG: Here we go.
MOINA: You've made your bed, Pam...
PAM: And I'm quite prepared to lie in it, Mum, so let's just change the subject, OK?
Beth heads off and Moina says she'll go with her. Pam tells Cody and Doug off for not being sensitive about potatoes around Moina(!)
Ramsay Street, the following morning
Sam is wearing a suit and is off for an interview with Alan Crowley. Brett and Danni wish him luck. Danni is still convinced she's going to get the lead in the school play.
The teacher thanks everyone for auditioning for the play. Leanne (Paco) is going to be musical director. Brett will play Bernard and Lata will play Fanny - Danni will be the understudy. Danni is not pleased.
Debbie comes in and awkwardly greets Kim. He asks her if she's OK and he apologises for shouting at her. She apologises too and says she was an idiot. She still wants to do the hair competition though and says maybe he could do an 80s revival style.
Lata tells Danni she's sorry she's disappointed. Leanne (Paco) storms in and rants that she's been banned from doing the play because her grades are so low. The teacher tells her that her grades are important and the decision was made for her own good. Leanne looks depressed and vows not to give up without a fight.
Gaby is packing for Darwin and Moina tells Beth that Gaby should marry Jack and be done with it - it's not respectable to be a single mum. Beth points out that Gaby doesn't love Jack, but Moina says that Gaby liked him enough to have his child(!) Moina moans about Doug and Pam tells her that she has no complaints about her marriage.
Beth and Pam, then Pam and Moina hug goodbye.
Outside the Coffee Shop
Sam tells Helen excitedly that Alan Crowley has given him a job, but he'd rather not tell her what it is!
Apparently Leanne is off planning her revenge on the headmistress. Lata asks Danni is there is any more babysitting work going with Louise. Lata explains that she owes Vikram money - he doesn't know about the agency.
Doug is basking in the peace and quiet in the wake of Moina's departure(!) Doug moans that Moina had a go at him the whole time, but Pam thinks Faye is a lot worse!
Gaby has asked Jack around to make him an offer - they can discuss it over lunch. They head off.
Brett is brooding at a table and Helen asks if he's alright. He tells her he likes a girl, but he thinks she might have done something terrible to a member of her own family. Helen tells him that he doesn't know the history behind the incident, and there may have been a good reason for it.
Gaby has asked Jack to be a pilot up in Darwin and he agrees. He can stay in Lassiter's for the first week and find a place after that.
JACK: This is incredible, not so long ago I thought I'd lost everything, and now everything seems...perfect.
GABY: Jack, I'd just like to say that...well, I hope you're not getting any ideas.
JACK: What kind of ideas?
GABY: This is a business arrangement, strictly platonic.
JACK: Of course.
She looks kind of pleased though.
Sam passes by and tells them he's got a job - but he won't tell them what it is.
Leanne has planned a trick on the headmistress - a dead octopus.
Outside the Coffee Shop
Debbie and Kim are having coffee and talking about the competition. Helen comes by and tells them that Brett is behaving a bit strangely today.
Apparently Miss Stoner, not the headmistress, found the dead octopus and was extremely upset. Now the headmistress has banned all activities until someone owns up.
Jack is cuddling Zac. He suggests that Gaby flies up to Darwin with him in his plane - they could stop on the way at a few different places. Gaby agrees, but only for a few days.
Danni has owned up herself to the octopus, but her punishment hasn't been decided yet. Cody storms in and yells at Danni that Mrs Stoner has collapsed and has been taken to hospital.
