No.26
Helen, Julie and Hannah are back from Hannah's concert which apparently went well and her team won. She starts nagging about ballet lessons.

At that moment, Debbie runs in and goes to her room in tears.

No.26 (Debbie's room)
Debbie grabs some chocolate and starts devouring it. She locks her door and won't let Julie in.

DEBBIE: Just go away!

No.26 (Living room)
Helen tells Julie to leave Debbie for a while to calm down. Julie says Hannah can sleep in with her and Phil.

No.28
Macca comes round for a word with Cody about Debbie.

CODY: What happened?
MACCA: She got way out of control. Claimed Anne was trying to steal me away from her!
CODY: Oh, no. What did you do?
MACCA: What could I do? Mrs Stark put her out pretty quick. Cody, you're her friend. Could you talk to her for me?
CODY: What am I supposed to say? 'Sorry, Macca's just not interested in you' I've tried to tell her that, she wouldn't listen. *You* have to tell her.
MACCA: I don't want to hurt her.
CODY: And she's not hurting already?

No.26 (Debbie's room)
Debbie has finally opened her door. Apparently she has been sick in the bathroom. Julie is fussing over her, but Debbie won't tell her what's going on.

Just then, Cody arrives and Julie leaves her to talk to Debbie.

CODY: Deb? Come on, it can't be that bad. Deb? Try me.

No.26 (Living room)
Julie answers the door to Macca. He introduces himself. Julie asks him what he did.

No.26 (Debbie's room)
Debbie has poured out the sorry story to Cody. She still thinks that Macca is interested in her though, just that Ms Teschendorff spoilt it(!)

Debbie hears Macca in the living room and tries to go out to him. Cody holds her back, saying she can see him tomorrow.

DEBBIE: He loves me, I knew he loves me! Just everyone else keeping us apart!

Mark's parents' place
Annalise is chatting to Dave about his plans for the future. She suggests that he comes to stay with her and Mark in Melbourne for a bit: Mark will need his support.

Just then, Serendipity arrives. She hugs her father, but we only see them at a distance.

Later, under the trees, a funeral gathering is held for Mark's mum. Everyone speaks, but Mark is too upset.

DAVE: Sally told me a few years ago, she'd be happy knowing that once upon a time she knew me. Even if we weren't together anymore. At the time, I thought she was overstating the case a little. But, we're not together now. And I am happy to have shared so much with her. I know you all feel the same.

They place flowers on the coffin.

MARK: The thing about Mum is, she knew everything about us as kids. She helped me paint stars on the ceiling of my room. She named all of the animals on the farm. She caught more yabbies than I ever could. She knew the name of every tree, weed and insect. She made every day an adventure. Both of you did. But loving people, that's what she was best at. And that's what I'll never forget about her.

He puts his flowers on the coffin and hugs his father, sobbing.

Macca is paying Doug for some lager - only $1 a bottle.

Cody tells Macca that he has to tell Debbie that he's not interested. She's not impressed with him.

Julie and Helen are still quizzing Debbie, much to her distaste. Julie tells her she's being silly, chasing a grown man in such makeup and clothes. Debbie runs off.

Dave has arrived on his motorbike and introduces himself to Rick. He admires Pam's bike, then tells Rick he's going to stay for a while, to be with Mark.

Pub
Mark is a bit cross with Annalise for inviting Dave to stay. She tells him to lighten up, he is his dad after all!

Mark and Annalise arrive home to find Dave smoking and playing the guitar. Mark is not happy, but Annalise is pleased to see Dave. He tells her that he'll spend some time with Mark, then go off on a trip around Australia on his bike.

Rick invites Dave to come over to No.28 with him and meet Pam.

No.28
Doug is pleased to meet Dave, but Pam isn't there at the moment. He offers him a beer while he's waiting.

Rick goes over to Cody for a catch- up. He tells her she was right, he was going a bit crazy with his love life before. They agree to hang out for a bit.

Dave really enjoys Doug's home brew!

No.26 (Debbie's room)
Helen has come to see Debbie.

HELEN: I thought you could do with some company. We don't have to talk...

Debbie hugs Helen and sobs.

HELEN: Oh, darling. It...just isn't this young man, is it. Why don't you want to go to school?
DEBBIE: Because I messed everything up. I'm so jealous you know. Ms Teschendorff going out with Andrew and she's the Principal. And she'll take it out on me. Gran, I'm so useless!
HELEN: That is rubbish!
DEBBIE: No, it's true! I hate myself. I hate everything about me. I'm fat and I'm ugly and I'm stupid.
HELEN: Darling, none of that is true.
DEBBIE: Yes, it is.
HELEN: You are a kind, gentle, intelligent person.
DEBBIE: No- one wants any of it.
HELEN: Oh, Debs. You'll be alright, I promise.

She hugs her.

Rick, Annalise, Mark, Dave and Cody are playing charades. Dave tries out Mark's video camera.

Mark gets cross with Dave for eating stuff out of the fridge that was meant for dinner tonight.

Macca has turned up.

HELEN: I don't think that's a very good idea, Mr Mackenzie.

Debbie runs out of her room.

HELEN: She's very vulnerable.
DEBBIE: I knew you'd come!
MACCA: Debbie...
HELEN: I'll be in the kitchen.

She heads off.

MACCA: Debbie, we need to talk.
DEBBIE: Yeah, I'm sorry about last night, but it's OK now.
MACCA: Deb, I know how you feel, and last night you looked fantastic! But I can't let you do this to yourself, not over me.
DEBBIE: Thank you.
MACCA: What for?
DEBBIE: For being so nice and modest.
MACCA: Debbie...
DEBBIE: And for understanding me, you're the only one who does.

She kisses him on the cheek.

No.30, the following morning
Mark isn't happy to find Dave sleeping naked on the floor in the living room(!) He quickly gives him a blanket to wrap round himself.

When Mark has gone to have a shower, Rick says that Mark is a bit stressed.

Debbie has come to see Cody.

CODY: So, he finally got round to it, eh?
DEBBIE: Yeah, we had the best talk.
CODY: Yeah?
DEBBIE: Poor guy, he's got no confidence, he thinks that I'm too good for him.

Cody looks confused.

CODY: Well, he's got that right.
DEBBIE: Yeah, he doesn't want to tie me down too early, he thinks that I should finish my education.
CODY: Did he actually say that?
DEBBIE: No, not in so many words. But it's sweet the way he gets tongue-tied when he's with me.
CODY: You must have imagined it or made it up in your mind or something, because apart from his job, you hardly know this guy.
DEBBIE: I know him well enough to be sure I want to spend the rest of my life with him.
CODY: ...

Annalise tells Rick and Mark that Dave is meditating naked in the garden. She and Rick find it funny, Mark less so.

Dave comes in and says he's thinking of selling the farm. He doesn't think it'll be the same without Sally. In the meantime, he might stay on in Ramsay Street until it's sold...for weeks...months...maybe years!
