The dress is now bright blue thanks to bleach and Julie is wailing that it is unsalvageable.
JULIE: How could you have done this to me?
HANNAH: I thought it might make it sparkle.
Julie can't get her head around this and is angry with Hannah. She is wailing that the competition is the next night. Everyone comes to see what all the fuss is about. Hannah runs to the sofa as Julie continues to wail. Phil thinks that there is more to this than meets the eye.
Phil asks Hannah what's going on. Hannah thinks he's mad at her. He wants the full story first. He calls her by her nickname which she isn't impressed about.
HANNAH: I'm not a button. Just leave me alone!
No.24
Lou arrives home and apologises for getting back at such a late hour. Lou tells her that the bureaucrats have come up with complicated forms to fill so they can get married. The form asks if one of the intended is pregnant so that rules them out. Lou is going to come up with another plan, Cheryl isn't so sure it will work. Cheryl has been looking at ideas to decorate the spare room to turn it into a nursery. This surprises Lou.
LOU: We won't need a nursery for at least a year.
Cheryl laughs at him. Lou explains he's read an article which states that the baby and parents used to share a bed. It helped with the bonding process.
CHERYL: When it comes to sleeping you are the original rock and roller.
Lou wants to consider the idea and asks her to read the article.

Julie is crying as Debbie comforts her. Julie is convinced her only option is to not participate in the competition, Helen doesn't think this should happen. Debbie suggests that Julie finds another dress, Julie wants the dress to be made. Debbie suggests she makes the dress but there isn't time and it would be too expensive. Julie is out of options. Michael and Helen look at each other, Michael heads out.

Michael has come to Gaby about making a dress. Gaby tells him it's not an easy job. Michael thinks he could do a good job after learning skills in detention. Gaby doesn't think they have the time needed. Michael wants to at least attempt it and is after some material. Gaby offers help and advice but they need more people to help. Michael thinks the whole family would be willing to come to their assistance. Michael hits home with the fact that Julie is really cut up about this. Gaby agrees to look for fabric whilst Michael finds the volunteers. Michael thanks Gaby.
MICHAEL: You are the greatest.

Julie is worried about the dress they're putting together as there are strict guidelines. Gaby is going to try her best but reminds Julie that time is not on their side. Julie realises she is overreacting. Helen advises her she needs some warm milk and sleep before the competition. Julie doesn't want to abandon them. They think they can manage! Julie is really grateful for their help and heads to bed.
DEBBIE: You are a genius Gran.
HELEN: She gets a bit fidgety at times.
Phil arrives with some bits and asks loudly where Julie has gone. They shush him, he understands when they explain! Gaby enlists Michael and Debbie's help.
Phil admits to Helen he didn't have any success with Hannah. Helen is understanding and will talk to her instead. Phil thanks her.

Lou wants to hear Cheryl's opinion of the article as he massages her feet.
CHERYL: It says nothing here about a man who sleeps like a washing machine on a kick them to death cycle.
Lou reminds her about a massage which quietens Cheryl! Lou thinks this is a good idea. Cheryl suggests they make up their minds once the baby is here. She still has plans for the nursery. Lou is determined she won't get too worn out, Cheryl promises that won't happen. Lou questions whether The Waterhole is the best place for her to be working. She thinks he would prefer for her to stay at home! That wasn't Lou's idea. The doctor has advised Cheryl to rest. Lou wants to know what her plans are, Cheryl doesn't want to be pressured. Cheryl is working things out, Lou wants to know what's going on. She needs a couple of days to work things out.
Ramsay Street
Helen has come outside and seen Hannah sitting by a bush in the dark. Helen tells her she has been searching high and low. Hannah is out here as she's convinced everyone is mad at her. Helen reassures her that isn't the case and wraps a blanket around her. Helen thinks there's more to the story but Hannah isn't telling. Helen wants her to share, Hannah asks her to keep it a secret. Hannah admits the truth, Helen can see where Hannah was coming from. Helen thinks that Julie would be more understanding if Hannah is honest. Hannah worries that Julie will tell Aaron and she won't see Jesse anymore. Hannah reminds Helen of her promise.

Michael is realising how much hard work this is.
PHIL: You're not a bad kid when you're not being a handful.
MICHAEL: I'm a lunatic and this proves it.
(Commercial Break)
It's now the next morning. Michael and Phil are asleep on the table. Julie comes in and examines the dress. She pulls it from under Phil and disturbs them. Julie apologises, she wanted to see their progress. It's now 7 AM and Michael suggests coffee. Julie suggests she takes over but Phil insists they're fine, they were working till 3 AM! Julie agrees to make some hot drinks and thanks them. Phil suggests that Julie helps Vikram at the Newsagency. They tell her the dress is finished. Michael was dreaming of sleeping on nails, he has pins attached to his shirt, Phil sympathises.
Lassiter's Office
Gaby arrives and is surprised that Cheryl is setting her things out in the front office. Cheryl explains that she decided to use this space as she is short of space at The Waterhole. Gaby isn't sure this will work and thinks the bar staff won't be so hardworking if Cheryl is over here. Cheryl has spontaneously decided to hire a Bar Manager. Cheryl needs to take it easy and someone was in the day before looking for work. Cheryl apologises for not letting Gaby know beforehand and didn't think it would be a problem. Gaby insists it is fine but doesn't look so sure!
The Waterhole
Lou greets Mark in a jubilant mood, he's sold two cars already today. Lou orders lunch then realises his error.
MARK: I wouldn't miss it for quits.
Mark has poisoned 17 people and the Health Inspector is looking into it. He is being sued for defamation by the butcher. Lou advises that they settle before it gets to court.
MARK: There's my parents. Sneaked back into my life like a pair of burglars.
LOU: At least you've got your health.
Mark doesn't look so impressed!
Lassiter's Office
Cheryl isn't in a hurry to get back to The Waterhole as it's quiet over there. Gaby takes a piece of paper out of its envelope and is stunned by its contents. Bert's lawyer is asking for a public apology from both Mark and Lassiter's. Otherwise he intends to sue. Gaby is going to talk to Mark.
CHERYL: You'll sack him Gaby.
GABY: He's my friend.
CHERYL: You'll still sack him.

It is now the evening. Michael is taking photos of Phil and Debbie before they head off to the dance competition.
PHIL: (To Debbie) Behave yourself or I'll ground you for the rest of your life.
Michael asks Hannah and Helen to pose so they do. Phil invites them along. Helen is still recovering so would prefer to stay at home. Debbie realises Michael isn't so keen.
DEBBIE: They're going to practise their music or whatever you call it!
MICHAEL: Watch it.
Julie arrives and twirls in her dress. They admire her outfit. Michael takes photos of the family.
Dance Competition
Couples are dancing on the dance floor. Jesse is looking around. Aaron and Gaylene are couple No.2. Gaylene is wondering why someone used scissors on her dress, Aaron doesn't have an answer for her. They both thought that she was getting on with both of them. Gaylene worries her dress is ruined, Aaron assures her it is lovely. Aaron sees Julie and her family arrive. Jesse tries to wave to Hannah but Aaron comes over and tells him he can't spend time with Hannah tonight.
AARON: If you disobey me you know what will happen.
JESSE: Yes Dad.
Debbie recognises one of the judges as Tony Bartuccio, Phil reminds her she can't just stare at Tony. Les tells them that Tony is the celebrity judge. Julie thinks her dress is the best of all, Les agrees they are a good dance couple. Debbie thinks that Gaylene is wearing Julie's old dress. Hannah smiles awkwardly!
The Waterhole
Mark is ordering another drink, Tiberio reminds him about Gaby. The meeting had slipped Mark's mind. Tiberio points out he needs to attend the meeting, Mark points out he can already guess how the lecture will go! Tiberio tries to give advice but Mark isn't interested. Mark plans to check how the restaurant is doing.
MARK: Whenever I'm off duty they always get it wrong. Guess which bunny cops it when they do.
Lassiter's Office
Gaby checks her watch then gets her stuff together.
Dance Competition
Tony gets up from the judges table and welcomes them to the competition. He announces the competition will start shortly.
Debbie is convinced that her dress makes her look fat, Phil wishes he was her weight. Les compliments Julie, he thinks they will do a great job. Julie asks Hannah for the truth. Hannah admits that she knew Gaylene would be wearing the same dress. Julie realises that is why Hannah spoilt the dress, Hannah couldn't think of any other options. Julie laughs and hugs Hannah.
JULIE: Families really should stick together shouldn't they?
Hannah isn't convinced as Julie is dancing with Les instead of Phil. Julie tries to explain, Hannah points out that Julie is doing it to win the competition. Phil comes and tells them the contestants need to gather on the dancefloor. Les arrives and Julie asks him if she can dance with Phil after all. Les and Debbie are hesitant but agree to be partners instead.
Hannah stands on a chair and watches her parents dance. Jesse comes over and they hide under the table. Jesse explains that Gaylene sewed up her dress after he cut it up. They watch the dancers from under the table cover. Phil is dancer No.1. Aaron steps on Gaylene's dress and it tears at the back. Gaylene screams and runs off the dancefloor. Jesse and Hannah chuckle and go back under the table.

CHERYL: Maybe we could get married on a train.
LOU: It would sound like we were in a hurry to get away on our honeymoon.
They are stumped for any other ideas. Lou points out that as they have a date they can book the celebrant. Cheryl is wondering which celebrant to have as there is a knock at the door.
LOU: If whoever that is has got the authority that's who is going to marry us.
CHERYL: You are on.
Michael has come to see Danni. Cheryl offers to go and get her but Michael heads off to her room.
Dance Competition
The couples are dancing. Everyone claps as they finish. Tony compliments their dancing. He is now ready to announce the winners. Brenda Richards and Barry Athlen (Dancer No.8) are in third place. Julie and Phil are in second place. Julie is happy with the results. The winners are Debbie and Les (Dancer No.9), they both look stunned! Les kisses Debbie's hand.
Phil is happy with the choice Julie made.
JULIE: Just wait till next year.
Gaylene is crying as she and Aaron return. Gaylene wants to head home, Aaron agrees. Jesse realises he needs to head off. He and Hannah aren't sure when they'll see each other again. Jesse gives Hannah a peck on the cheek. Aaron lifts the table cover and spots them.

Mark returns home to find Gaby waiting for him. Rick let her into the house. Gaby reminds him about the appointment. Mark has been into the restaurant on his night off. Gaby still isn't impressed.
GABY: I want a written apology from you to Bert.
MARK: You'll be waiting a long time.
Gaby is reluctant to sack him as he's a great chef. She doesn't want to be left with no choice. She tells him that he has a 6 week suspension. Mark is stunned but she refuses to budge. Mark wants to know who his replacement will be as it was difficult to find someone in the first place.
GABY: Nobody is indispensable, Mark.
MARK: You can stick your suspension and get yourself a new chef. I quit.
