Lou and Cheryl's bedroom
Cheryl is pleased by the breakfast in bed.
LOU: Look, I know I'm pretty thick, but...how did this happen?
CHERYL: Oh, well...when a mummy and a daddy realllly love each other...
LOU: Oh, yeah?! Well, at least you're smiling. That's a good sign.
CHERYL: Well, I don't know whether to laugh or cry, I feel like I've had the best news and the worst news all in one go!
LOU: It's confusing, isn't it.
CHERYL: A little. Me and a baby...
LOU: Yeah. Something special.
CHERYL: That it is. But...it's going to tie us down for some time.
LOU: Oh, we've got loads of years left in us yet!
CHERYL: And what about in fifteen years' time, do you think we'll still feel like being parents?
LOU: Yeah! Keep us young, I reckon.
CHERYL: It was exhausting enough the first time round.
LOU: You don't regret it though, do you?
CHERYL: No. Except that they grow up and get minds of their own(!)
CHERYL: What do you really think?
LOU: I think, times have changed. For both of us.
CHERYL: A second chance. If we want it.

BRETT: It's fight or die. What choice have I got?
Cheryl is announcing that Lou is now the sole owner of Carpenters Cars!
LOU: Hey, you are pleased about the baby, aren't you?
CHERYL: One minute all I see is happy families, and the next all the problems of a new baby hit me right between the eyes.
LOU: Any particular problem in mind?
CHERYL: The loss of freedom, the added years of responsibility and I don't even know how the other kids are going to feel about it.
LOU: Well...perhaps we should keep it quiet for a while.
CHERYL: Another pregnancy? I mean, it'll be a bit of a strain.
LOU:(concerned) You are OK, aren't you? You're fighting fit.
CHERYL: I'm fine. And I'm going to the doctor's this afternoon. So let's wait and see what he has to say before we start worrying.

Lou and Cheryl are alone.
LOU: There's something I want to say about the baby. It has come along at a funny time in our lives, caught us both on the hop. And it will change our lives, there's no two ways about that. But I want you to know something. I am *not* sorry this has happened. We've got a great thing going between us and this is only going to make it better.
They hug and Cheryl starts to cry.
LOU: Oh you went to the docs, what did he say? Come on, tell me.
Gaby and Sally are having a drink. Sally has been thinking about the Aboriginal Studies class, and more than that, thinking about how she's lost touch with her family and the friends she grew up with. Maybe she needs to get back in touch.
Rick comes over and starts fawning over Sally. She tells him straight that she's her teacher and nothing could ever come of it.
Rick looks crestfallen as she walks out of the pub.
RICK:(to himself) Yeah, but Sally...I love you.
