Lucy and Brad have another row.
Willises, the following morning
Brad tells Cameron that the surfboard thing is going really well - the manufacturer wants to see a prototype. Doug is reading through the paper looking for fan mail(!) but there's nothing today.
Gaby offers to take Doug to the doctor's today, if she can borrow the ute. She wants to go to Hunter's Hardware to pick up a few things.
Brad is moping again and tells Doug that he's had another row with Lucy.
BRAD: Why is it every time I see Lucy I have to go and say the wrong thing?
Garden of No.26
Beth and Lucy are talking about Brad - Lucy is very upset. They get on to talking about Beth's trip to Queensland - but she's still a bit evasive on the details.
Doug hobbles in and has a chat with Marco at the counter. Marco doesn't know what's going on with Beth - she's very distant.
A woman comes in and recognises him from his photo in the paper. She introduces herself as Jill Weir and Doug invites her to join him. Apparently she wrote a letter to the paper.
Outside the coffee shop, Beth passes by and Marco tries to talk to her. He wants to know why she's gone off him. Beth reckons they're just friends - there never really was anything between them. Marco gets the hint and slopes off.
Lucy rushes up and bundles Beth into...
Lucy is grilling Beth about why she's acting like this. Beth confesses that she met someone up in Queensland and they're in love.
Brad has been painting his boards and all is going well. Pam tells Brad that she saw Helen today and got the story on Lucy - she's been really missing Brad.
BRAD: Thanks, mum. Now I feel even worse!
Pam encourages Brad to sort it out, but he says he's treated Lucy very badly.
Lucy is typing when Cameron comes in looking for Paul about the intervention order. They chat about the marriage breakup - apparently Christina has gone to stay with her parents until the court hearing. Cameron offers to take Lucy to lunch to cheer her up.
Jill and Doug are getting on like a house on fire when Brad comes in. He offers Doug a lift to the doctor's.
When Doug has gone, Jill realises that he's left his coat behind.
Cameron and Lucy are walking along, talking about Brad. Cameron says that Brad is very upset but Lucy says he has a weird way of saying it.
CAMERON: I think, deep down, Brad doesn't think he's good enough for you.
He thinks the course of true love never runs smooth! He gets Lucy to list Brad's good points and there are quite a lot of them.
Brad is still moping about and Pam and Gaby are trying to get him to talk to Lucy. Pam suggests a present and Gaby suggests an outfit from the boutique, or some jewellery.
Beth comes in to apologises to Marco for what happened earlier. She admits that something did happen up in Queensland that changed everything. Marco realises that she's met another guy and is rather disappointed.
Gaby has found out that Simon already has a girlfriend, but at least she got some cheap hardware out of it(!)
Just then, Jill comes to the door with Doug's coat - she got his address off Marco. Doug introduces her to Pam and the rest of the family and Pam offers her a cup of tea. They have a chat and it seems that Jill's husband has passed away and she's just moved into a new place. She kind of misses having a man about the place.
Beth comes in and hasn't had any luck on the job front. She tells Lucy that she's spoken to Marco. A letter has arrived for Beth - from Queensland.
There's a knock at the door and Lucy answers it. It's Brad, who immediately puts his head in.
BRAD: Alright, Lucy, slam it.
BRAD: Because I deserve to suffer!
LUCY: That's ture, but I couldn't do it. I'd have to clean up the mess afterwards!
Brad comes in and tells Lucy that things are going wrong for them because they both like each other. He asks if they can go back to being friends who care about each other - things were simple back then. Lucy agrees. He tells her he's got something for her - the prototype of his surfboard - he's named it after her! Lucy is delighted and Brad offers to give her some lessons.

Beth is reading the letter which is from a bloke - in the letter he tells her he loves her and wants her to marry him(!) (Eh?!!)
