Helen is pleased that Beverly and Jim are talking things through. Beverly doesn't seem convinced it will work though.
Harold is cross with Madge for breaking an old stone, but it turns out Rosemary bought a similar one in the gift shop!
Madge and Harold agree to take a letter to the Lord of the stately home on Rosemary's behalf.
Hilary is packing her things and Helen has come to chat to her. She wants to throw a farewell party for Hilary tomorrow. Helen is surprised to hear that Matthew is leaving too - he hasn't mentioned it to anyone.
Helen asks Hilary who the next tenant will be - but Hilary says that Edith Chubb is selling the house. Hilary has decided to buy a house in Adelaide so she and Matthew can be together. She's going to sell off her shares to finance it.
Lassiter's - outside
Todd, Cody and Josh are sitting with their feet in the pond and talking about homework. They agree to meet up this evening and play computer games.
Sharon, Nick and Ryan come up and sit together at a table. Ryan asks Sharon if she's talked to Kirsten about the dance yet, but Sharon hasn't had a chance. Nick tactfully suggests that Ryan takes someone else and is about to spill the beans but Sharon kicks him hard. She says she'll ring Kirsten tonight.
Jim has come to bring Paul a sandwich as he's being a huge workaholic at the moment. They chat about the sale of the playground's land - Jim thinks the protest is getting a lot of sympathy in the district. Paul thinks Kerry will back down, or he'll sue her. Jim is quite shocked at his ruthlessness.
Helen has made afternoon tea for Nick and Sharon - she wants to try out a recipe on them, ahead of Hilary's party tomorrow afternoon. Nick refusees to come to the party - Hilary has never liked him.
Sharon goes off to ring Kirsten. She sounds him out about Ryan and apparently Kirsten quite likes him. Sharon is downcast.
NICK: Are you going to tell him?
SHARON: Well, I suppose I'll have to, won't I?
Josh and Todd are playing a computer game. Melissa looks very bored.
Jim comes in and tells Todd off for setting up the computer on his desk because he's got a lot of work to do. He goes through to the kitchen to read his mail.
Helen has come to tell Hilary the time for the party tomorrow. Hilary is in a bit of a state - her stockbroker has phoned and wants to see her immediately.
Ryan is grilling Sharon about Kirsten. He asks Sharon to ring Kirsten again, but Nick tells him to do it himself. Ryan asks Nick if he can come to his place to talk about Kirsten. Before he goes, Sharon tells him to be sure to talk to Kirsten about surfing because it's one of her favourite subjects(!) Hmm, I sense a little lie there!
Josh and Todd are still playing computer games and Melissa looks very bored indeed. Jim comes out and tells Todd and Josh to start their homework.
England - Lyme Park
Madge and Harold have been to see Lord Ledgerwood, but he has refused to see them. (Those are the steps Mr Darcy walked down!) Madge is in a bit of a temper and is ranting about the Lord. They don't know waht to do about the letter. Just then the gardener comes up and Madge tells them about what happened with the Lord. Just then, Rosemary arrives - she's managed to come along after all.
ROSEMARY:(recognising the gardener) Lord Ledgerwood!
GARDENER/LORD LEDGERWOOD: Ah...Rosemary Daniels, isn't it?
They shake hands.
Rosemary turns to introduce Madge and Harold, but they have fled(!)
Ryan is still raving about Kirsten to Nick. He won't let him use their phone to call Kirsten(!). He tries to put Ryan off Kirsten and sings Sharon's praises. Ryan says he thinks Nick should ask Sharon out(!)
England - Lyme Park - inside
Madge is embarrassed that she said such dreadful things about the lord without realising he and the gardener were one and the same. Apparently the lord is a bit eccentric and likes to "go undercover" when the estate is open to the public.
Harold apologises to Lord Ledgerwood for Madge's behaviour, but he says he should be the one to apologise - he was playing a little game. Apparently he enjoys amateur theatricals(!) He shows Rosemary through to the library to discuss her proposal.
Josh and Todd are still playing computer games! Melissa isn't happy at all, but Josh finally decides enough is enough and heads home. Melissa almost stomps off, telling Todd off for ignoring her for hours. He talks her round though.
Paul is really excited about the profits that Lassiter's is making.
Just then, Hilary rushes in. It seems she is in financial difficulties - she's managed to pay off her tax bill with the money from her shares, but there isn't enough to buy her house. She needs to pull her money out of Lassiter's to finance the house. Paul is horrified, saying that he needs every cent for the nightclub project. Hilary says she can't wait until the nightclub is off the ground.
PAUL: Hilary, I am begging you, don't do this to me!
HILARY: I'm sorry, Paul. I have no choice. I need that money and I need it immediately.
