Jim grabs Harold by the throat for daring to insult Gail.
Harold asks Jim to unhand him, and with a little persuasion from Todd, Jim finally lets go of Harold's neck. He calls Harold a pompous prig and tells him off for being a hypocrite. He shouts at Harold to keep his moralising to himself. Todd says that Jim's right - Harold is a creep.
Garage of the Robinsons
Nick is painting when Sharon sneaks up on him (silly woman - what if he'd spoilt his picture?!)
Nick starts banging on about Matt and Sharon tries to reason with him. She suggests that she and Nick go out tonight, but he doesn't want to. He tells her to go away and let him paint.
Helen tells Beverly about Jim's new rock collection. Todd and Jim come in, both in very bad moods and tell Helen and Beverly what Harold said about Gail. Helen congratulates Jim on defending Gail's honour!
Mary is all dressed up ready to go out. She has won again on the horses and gives Joe the winnings - the horse's name was "Favourite Son"
Kerry comes in - she's heard about the confrontation between Harold and Jim.
Harold is raving to Madge that he's never been so shocked in his life. Madge says that she doesn't blame Jim - he's not one to take verbal abuse against his family. She says she doesn't condone what Jim did, but she does think that Gail has been the victim of an injustice. She says that she was with Gail during the incident and told Harold what happened - but apparently her word doesn't count for anything at all with Harold! Madge tells Harold to find a bit of compassion and to stop being so unfair. She storms off to work, telling Harold to think about his attitude to other people carefully.
Beverly is trying to make a white sauce and not doing very well!
Madge comes to apologise for Harold's behaviour, saying Harold is being very painful on the subject. She says she'll look into putting a muzzle on him!
Todd and Helen go off to put Jim's rocks in the garage. Beverly is sieving her white sauce. (Bleuuuurrrgh!!!)
Kerry is serving up Lentil Stew for herself, Joe, Sky and Mary. Mary suggests putting beef in it, but Kerry explains about vegetarian company.
Harold comes in and Joe introduces him to Mary. Harold asks Kerry if she'd like him to babysit Sky, but she doesn't want to know him at the moment - she's upset with the way he's been talking about Gail. Joe tells Harold to buzz off.
Garage of the Robinsons
Helen and Todd stagger to the garage with the rocks. Harold offers his help but Helen tells him that he's done enough for their family in one day.
Helen sneaks a peek at Nick's painting and is pleased to see real feeling and maturity in his work. She says that the emotion "leaps off the canvas".
In the dark, Harold approaches a house. He knocks at the door and Robyn answers it. She's surprised to see him and sees that he is upset. He tells her that he's very miserable and quite confused. She invites him in for a chat.
Robyn's sitting room
Harold is explaining to Robyn what's happened with the Gail situation. They admit that they have missed each other. Robyn says they're sensible people and need not stray beyond the bounds of friendship. Harold agrees that they can start training together again. Robyn gives Harold a little present she'd bought for him from before their parting - it's a stopwatch to help with his training. Harold decides to leave and thanks Robyn for her understanding. They bid each other goodnight and agree to meet up for training tomorrow.
Sharon has invited Helen round for a war council about Nick. She says that he's been really down and depressed lately and she wants to sort things out for him. Helen doesn't know what to do to help him. Sharon says maybe they could think of something that Nick could do that he'd be the best at. Helen says she has thought of something - and it's been under their noses the whole time.
Kerry is making breakfast and chatting to Joe about the wedding. Mary has gone out again, much to Joe's concern. Kerry is impressed how fond of Mary Joe is. Mary comes in at that moment and tells them that she's very busy today looking after her chooks.
Joe explains to Kerry that Mary is a bit funny about the chooks - she always talks about them when she's afraid that Joe will send her back where she came from. Kerry says there's no chance of that because Joe doesn't know where that is. But she sees a look on Joe's face that tells her otherwise.
Helen and Beverly are joking about Jim's new geology hobby when Sharon comes in. Helen says she's got an announcement - she wants some new talent to exhibit alongside Frank's pictures at the Gallery. She says that her new talent is - Nick. Nick is surprised and pleased. Helen says that she wants the credit for discovering him!
Joe is explaining how Mary has been badly treated by her son and she's got a second chance at family life with them. Kerry is sympathetic to her plight. Mary goes out to feed the chickens and Joe shouts after her that they haven't got any chooks. But Kerry and Joe follow her out anyway. They are amazed to see Mary feeding five chickens - she tells them that she bought them over at Anson's Corner! She's even named them!
