Outside the Coffee Shop
Nick is upset that Sharon is going out with Skinner. Sharon goes off with him and tells Nick that she's sorry. Skinner puts his arm around her.
Madge and Harold are having dinner with Betty. Harold is still flirting with Betty. Betty's taxi arrives and says she'd like to take Harold and Madge to dinner tomorrow night at an expensive restaurant.
When Betty has gone, Madge is simmering with anger and says she could kill Betty. Harold realises she's jealous and starts to laugh. He says Betty is very generous and says tomorrow that it will be a night to remember. Madge tells him mysteriously that she'll be a bit late home from work tomorrow.
Sharon has come to see Hilary. Hilary starts to cry and tells Sharon that she's so very frightened - she can't bear to be a burden on anyone, not that she has a family anyway. Sharon says that she, Bronwyn and the Robinsons will look after her. Hilary asks Sharon to consider going back to school - it would mean so much to her. Sharon agrees. Hilary tells her that she's glad that Sharon has come home.
Paul and Gail's
Poppy has called to see Henry. She tells him that she's been bored with her job so she's quit - she wants to do something more interesting than a doctor's receptionist. Henry suggests joining the circus(!)
Joe and Kerry comes round. Joe is still narked with Henry about the furniture trick he played on him. Kerry says they've come to talk to Henry about replacing Hilary's furniture. Joe sees Poppy there and looks at Henry suspiciously. Henry says there's nothing going on.
Joe shows Henry some gold that Bouncer dug up in the garden - he thinks the stories of gold in the area are true(!) Henry gets excited and goes to get his metal detector. But then he realises that Joe is winding him up and realises it's a gold filling. He tells Joe he'll always be one step ahead of him!
Beverly is out on call again. Katie tells them that she came second in the Geography test thanks to Helen's help. Helen's leg is much improved too. Nick says he's going to take off again in a day or so.
Jim sees an expensive skateboard in the living room - Todd says that he saved up for it.
Nick tells Katie that Sharon is dating Skinner. Katie thinks Sharon is mad - Skinner is "the pits."
Kerry and Joe have come to see Hilary. Kerry tells Hilary that she's been very worried about her - she wishes there was something she could do for her. Kerry says she's so sorry for everything, but Hilary tells her it was just an accident.
HILARY: I must say I'm surprised to see you here, Mr Mangel.
JOE: Yeah, so am I.
Joe tells Hilary that he's had to take the furniture back - Jane won't let him take it back, so they'll have to make other arrangements for No.30. Hilary gasps loudly but she's not upset about the furniture - she thinks she can feel a tingling in her feet!
Kerry is telling Madge and Harold that Hilary's spine is only bruised - she should regain use of her legs in the next few days.
Madge and Harold tell Kerry that they're going out with Betty tonight.
HAROLD: Madge, you mentioned something about being home late from work. You didn't say what you were doing.
MADGE: No, I didn't.
Harold can't understand the mysteriousness on Madge's part.
Helen and Jim are visiting Hilary - they're all so pleased about the news. Hilary says that she's sorted out her priorities - she's not upset about the furniture. She's rung Mrs Chubb and had the go ahead to furnish the house with new stuff. Hilary has had a card from Adelaide and Helen is forced to tell her that Bob has walked out on Annette. (Katie and Todd's parents) They don't want Katie and Todd to know.
Henry is looking through samples of wallpaper for the office redecoration.
Skinner comes in and sits at a table, much to Harold's displeasure. Then Sharon comes in and joins him. Harold looks even more displeased!
Outside the pub
Betty is having a cocktail outside the pub. Betty says that she's glad she doesn't have to work. Madge says that nto everyone can marry money(!) Betty tells Madge not to get too dressed up for their dinner this evening - she doesn't think anyone would notice anyway(!)
The Coffee Shop
Katie and her friend are ordering sandwiches. Katies is watching Sharon and Skinner in the corner and expressing her displeasure.
Sharon tells Skinner that she's going back to school to keep Hilary happy. Skinner asks her if she'd complain if he moved in on her. Sharon says she wouldn't so Skinner kisses her.
Madge has booked the full works at the beauty parlour - it will cost $250. Madge has brought the dress she's going to wear this evening to make sure everything matches. The woman says not to worry - she'll look sensational by the time they finish with her.
Paul and Gail's
Henry is telling Gail on the phone not to worry - he's an expert wallpaperer(!)
Poppy and Kerry come in. Poppy tells Henry that she's got a new job. She proceeds to whip off her coat and demonstrate belly-dancing. She's going to do belly-dancing grams round offices!
Kerry is telling Nick about Sharon kissing Skinner. Nick says it's a free world. Katie thinks he should do something about it, like punching Skinner's lights out(!) But Nick says that Sharon's got the right to choose. Katie wants Nick to go back to school - he'll see more of Sharon there.
Helen and Todd are discussing records that Todd has bought. Jim is surprised that he's had the money.
Nick comes in and tells Jim that he's decided to go back to school. Jim and Helen are delighted.
The Beauty Parlour
Madge has finished her beauty treatment and is wearing her new outfit. She pays for the treatment and then tells the lady behind the counter that she's going to wipe her best friend off the face of the earth(!)
