Nick comes in in a right strop having been unable to find a job. Jim says he'd better think of something quick - he can't afford to support Nick financially. Nick says noone asked him to and storms off to his room.
Beverly comes in in a right strop and says she's found lipstick on a pillow in their bedroom. She demands an explanation for why Madeleine has been sleeping in their bed.

Madeleine's bags are packed and Jim has called her a taxi. She says she'd be happy to sleep in the spare room, but Jim stands firm. Madeleine starts going on about Eric Conrad but Beverly says they're under no obligation to have her stay with them. Madeleine tells her venomously that she'll regret that attitude so Jim shows her the door.
Sharon comes in and tells Nick what happened with Hilary. Nick tells her he's leaving - going fruit-picking up north to save some money. He hasn't told the Robinsons, Todd is going to break the news when he's gone. Sharon looks sad but then tells him to come round and say goodbye before he goes.
Paul and Gail's house
Henry comes in to find Bronwyn in a bad mood. She is resentful about having to do the housework and do her homework as well. She tells him off about hanging out with Poppy. Then she rants that Henry's not giving her much support. She becomes angry at Henry's lack of understanding and smashes a plate on the floor, Greek-style.
Beverly tells time that she doesn't like being threatened, but Jim says it's just Madeleine's way - nothing will happen. Scott comes in and greets Beverly. He's had some good leads on work at the Erinsborough News, and also the editor of the Erinsborough News thinks Madeleine is an oddball. She thinks Madeleine has developed a persecution complex and is unstable. She doesn't think anyone should cross her. Beverly looks worried.
Nick is kissing Sharon goodbye. He tells her he'll really miss her, but Sharon says she's coming too - she's already packed a bag! Nick protests, but Sharon says her mind is made up. She says if she doesn't go with Nick, she'll go by herself. He hugs her and they set off.
