Mike hasn't received a sentence but he does have a conviction. However if he stays out of trouble for two years the conviction is dropped. Des thinks it's outrageous; the jury should have seen Mike was innocent.
The Coffee Shop
Sally arrives and wonders if there is any news on Mike. Harold says there hasn't been. Sally gives Melanie a shopping list. Malcolm arrives and Melanie thanks him for coming to town; if it wasn't for him Sally wouldn't have moved to Erinsborough, needed a flat mate or needed the shopping to be done! Harold congratulates Malcolm on his ‘Scoop the Pools' win and wishes him good luck for the following night. Malcolm tells Sally the top prize is a trip for Europe – if he wins he'd like her to go with him. Sally asks for time to think it over.
Henry is getting ready for a date with Melanie. Charlene doesn't understand – what about Sally? He tells her flatmates are supposed to share. Charlene tells Henry that Madge isn't happy about having such a small wedding. She thinks Madge is scared to say what she really thinks in case Harold calls it off again. They agree they should talk to Harold about how much Madge wants a big wedding. Scott arrives and tells Charlene and Henry about the case outcome.
Des is still furious about Mike's conviction. Mike wants him to let it rest but Des insists they appeal. Mike says he doesn't want an appeal and tells Des this is about him, not Daphne. Jane says they both have to be grateful that Mike is home and out of prison. She's mad about the injustice too but at least Mike is with them both.
Everyone has calmed down but Des still thinks and appeal is the way to go. Mike says he hates Summers and Regan as much as Des does but they have to let it go. Mike thanks Des for being so loyal to him and Des thanks him for standing by him since Daphne's death.
The Coffee Shop
Charlene, Scott and Henry have told Harold and Sally about the verdict. Charlene tells Harold how much Madge would like a big wedding and since Madge won't whinge about it it's up to her to do something about it. Harold says he can't give Madge the wedding she deserves and they will not change their plans.

Malcolm arrives to see Jamie. Des apologises for not seeing the show but says he had too much on his mind. Malcolm starts to fill him in on what happened but Des says he doesn't want to hear about it. He's gutted that Mike has a conviction and the men responsible for Daphne's death are still walking the streets. Malcolm leaves.
Outside the Clarkes
Des runs after Malcolm and stops him. He apologises for snapping but tells him he's still wound up about the trial. Malcolm says he's worried about him and tells him to take some time off work.
The Coffee Shop

Sally insists she isn't jealous but Henry knows she is. He says half the time she didn't want to know about him and now Melanie is on the scene she is acting jealous. Henry tells her she can't blame Melanie for his choices. Sally says Melanie can move back into the flat as she has decided to go to Europe.
Sally apologises to Melanie who offers to cook dinner for everyone. But Sally says she has a movie to catch and won't be home till late.
Jane and Mike arrive home. Jane tells Mike she loves him. Harold interrupts the moment and tells Mike to stay as long as he likes, after all they have been through quite an ordeal today.
