Recap
Gail tells Beverly she isn't going to tell Paul she can't have children.
At the Clarkes'
Eileen is on the phone to Des saying she and Malcolm are getting on fine. Malcolm and Sally come home and Eileen is a bit snappy - they've been out all afternoon. She is somewhat mollified when Malcolm reveals he's been out shopping for a present for her. She beams with delight at the dress Sally helped him pick out, and invites Sally to stay for dinner too.
At the office
Mike comes to visit Jane with a bunch of flowers and says he's sent the photos off to New York. Jane is nervous that they won't be enough but Mike is thinking positive. Jane asks why he's brought her flowers and he says he felt like things were getting back to the way they used to be when they were out on the boat. He wants them to try again and Jane can't see why not. She kisses him and Mrs Mangel walks in. Mrs Mangel seems pleased and says she'll wait for her outside. Jane and Mike smile shyly at each other.
At Paul and Gail's
It's tea time but Gail isn't eating much. Paul asks if her tooth is still playing up but she says she's tired because he's working her too hard. He asks if it's anything to do with her visit to Beverly? She snaps but he tells her Beverly hasn't said anything, it was Lucy. He's hopeful that she was there for a pregnancy test... Gail sets the record straight then asks if they can't wait a couple of years? She doesn't want to put her career on hold just yet. He reluctantly agrees.
At the Clarkes'
Eileen is talking about bowls when Henry saves the day by ringing the doorbell. Malcolm tactfully leads Eileen out, saying his knee needs a rub. Henry asks Sally out again but she says no, she isn't going to be a steady girlfriend. He insists that's fine. She agrees to go, but reminds him she's going out with Tony too. No problem! Henry and Tony are now best mates. Sally is shocked to hear about Tony's arranged marriage and even more shocked to hear about their fake fiancé plan. She tells him it's the dumbest idea she's ever heard. Henry twigs that it would be a different story if they'd used her photo instead of Jane's but she gets angry and tells him their date's off.
At the office
Gail and Jane chat about Glenn and Gail asks about Mike - she thinks it's great that they're back together. Jane says maybe one day they'll be an old married couple like her and Paul, waiting for the kids to come along...
At the coffee shop
Sally is still not talking to Henry except to serve him. Henry tries to sweet talk her and she starts ranting on about his plan with Tony and Jane's photo again. Mrs Mangel overhears and wants to know what's going on. At Sally's insistence Henry is forced to spill the beans. Mrs Mangel and Mike spit the dummy as Jane walks in. Henry runs out!
At the Clarkes'
Eileen is modelling her new dress and singing Malcolm's praises. Malcolm asks her to go out on the town with him. He tells her he's always proud to be seen out with her and she glows under the praise.
In Lassiter's garden
Jane has come to have a go at Henry. She tells him he has to get her out of this mess but he points out that the letter's already gone. She wants Tony to write another letter explaining.
In the office
Paul and Gail are cuddling at her desk. Paul is still talking about babies and Gail is getting edgy. He can't really understand her reluctance - he doesn't want to be too old to kick a football around with his kids. She makes an excuse to leave and says they'll talk properly later.
In the coffee shop
Now it's Tony's turn to get a hard time from Mrs M, Mike and Sally (who's taking this very personally considering it's actually nothing to do with her). Henry stupidly walks in too, but assures them all he's going to fix things and drags Tony out. Eileen and Malcolm come in and Nel accuses her of being extravagant, buying new clothes. Eileen preens that she didn't buy it, it was a present - from Malcolm. She thinks Nel is jealous.
At Paul and Gail's
Paul demands to know what's going on. He's worried Gail's fallen out of love with him already. She says of course not, then finally tells him she can't have children. Paul is crestfallen and listens as she explains about the specialists. Gail tells him she's so sorry, but he hugs her and says the most important thing to him is her. They hug.
At the office
Mike asks Jane if she's mad at him about the photo but she's mad at Tony and Henry, not him. She's going to call in at the garage to make sure they've written the letter. Mike checks she's remembered their date that night and she assures him she's looking forward to it.
At the Clarkes'
Eileen and Malcolm are back from their date and discuss the movie they've seen. They talk about their marriage again and Malcolm says he hopes their experience didn't put her off the idea of marriage? She says of course not. He wonders if she's ever considered giving them another chance? Eileen is shocked -"You and Me?!" He nods and says he'd like to make things up to her. She says its too soon, she thinks they should leave things as they are.
At the garage
Henry is reading out Tony's letter in which Tony says he sent the wrong photo. He thinks its terrible. Jane arrives and asks how the poor girl in Perth would feel if she knew what they were up to? They manage to talk her round part way and convince her that the girl in Perth doesn't want to marry Tony either. She doesn't understand why they can't just explain that to their parents but Tony says they wouldn't understand. He looks forlornly into an engine and Jane starts to feel guilty. She weakly protests that the plan would never work and, sensing her weakness, Henry and Tony move in for the kill and point out that it's not like she has to do anything, she won't even have to meet Tony's family. She finally gives in and says one photo won't hurt. As she leaves Henry is relieved as he thought he was about to have to put on a wig and one of Madge's dresses. He and Tony have a joke as a lady walks into the garage - oh oh, it's Tony's mum!
