Gail's
Gail breaks the kiss with Jeremy and says she won't let him hurt her again - he doesn't know what love is. She says he had affairs and they always argued over money - like now with the car. Jeremy says he'll sell the car if he has to prove that he wants her back. Gail doesn't know what to say. Jeremy kisses her again and she does not resist.
Bishops
Madge is telling Harold off for talking to Des about Daphne's blood pressure. Harold says that she needs protecting from rowdy customers at the pub. Madge tells him to go and jump in the lake(!) She wants him to apologise to Daphne and herself, and then to Rob Lewis.
Garage
One of Rob's bottles of cider pops itself open - he says it must be very strong stuff. He and Jim are working on Rob's car. Rob slips out for a minute and Harold comes in. He starts apologising to Jim's legs, thinking he's Rob(!) Jim gets up and advises Harold to work on his apology. Rob comes up and Harold apologises to him for his behaviour at the pub. Rob offers him his hand and Harold shakes it. He gives some apple cider to Jim for the engagement celebration later, telling Harold that it's non-alcoholic. Jim and Rob leave, leaving Harold to lock up. He picks up a couple of the cider bottles.
Gail's
Gail and Jeremy are snogging on the couch when Rob comes in. He's surprised to see Jeremy there and tells him that Paul and Gail are engaged. Jeremy is very cross and Gail says she'll explain everything.
Mangels
Harold shows Mrs Mangel the "non-alcoholic" cider. Jane is just going out with Mike to look at some motorbikes. Harold doesn't approve of motorbikes and Mrs Mangel says she'll put a stop to it!
Lassiters
Jeremy and Gail drive up to Paul. Gail demands to know why all of Ramsay Street think they're engaged. They go to the office to discuss things.
The Office
Gail is furious and says they had a hypothetical conversation about getting married, she never agreed to anything. Paul asks if Jeremy has anything to do with this and says she's too special to let her life be ruined by someone like Jeremy. Paul asks her to go along with the story for a few weeks until he's completed the deal with Mr Udigawa. Gail agrees - nothing else in her life makes sense, so why should this?
Bishops
Harold has got a headache and is sitting with teabags on his eyes. Madge is ranting about Harold being picky about everything. She tells Harold that she enjoys her work and is proud to be a barmaid.
Charlene comes in and tells Madge that the Science wing of her old school has burned down.
Clarkes
Mrs Mangel is telling Des that motorbikes are lethal and Des is desperately trying to get rid of her. He tells her that he rode a motorbike when he was young so he could get to college. Mrs Mangel laughs at the thought of Des in leathers(!)
Gail's
Gail is trying to explain the situation with Paul to Rob - she wants him to bear with her. Rob doesn't want her to get hurt again. Gail admits that she IS engaged to Paul. Rob is very pleased and tells her to come over to the Robinsons to celebrate. But Gail says she can't - she's having dinner with Jeremy.
Mangels
Jane is just heading out, leaving Mrs Mangel and Harold having a chat. Harold opens one of the bottles of cider and pours them a glass each. He suggests they watch a film - "Easy Rider" (!)
Clarkes
Des is looking at an old photo of himself in leathers(!) when Jim comes round with a casserole and some flowers. They're to brighten Des up while Daphne is away. Jim sees the motorbike photo of Des and laughs.
The bell goes and it's Madge - she's brought Des a casserole(!) She apologises for Harold's interference.
Mangels
Harold and Mrs Mangel are tasting the apple cider. They start reminiscing about their younger days and having a laugh. Then they get on to the morals of society(!) and how alcohol is the tool of the devil!
Bishops
Charlene tells Madge that she wanted to get out of the caravan because Sue is cooking dinner for Henry. Madge wants Charlene to make more of an effot with Henry. Suddenly she realises that Harold was only defending her honour at the pub and starts to feel sorry. She says she'll go and see him after dinner.
Mangels
Harold and Mrs Mangel are talking about guiding the youth of today. Mrs Mangel starts to hiccup a bit and Harold opens the second bottle. Mrs Mangel says she hasn't felt so refreshed in years!
