Mr Parker tells Helen that he's going to sue over his daughter's assault.
Robinsons
Charlene and Scott are studying. Scott is worried about the exams, but Charlene says she's cool about them - as soon as they're over she can get on with what she really wants to do.
Mike comes in and says Mrs Mangel is furious about the incident with Sue and is going to send Jane away to her other grandmother.
Jim and Helen come home. They tell Scott, Charlene and Mike that Mr Parker is suing them for assault on Sue. Jim says they can defend themselves with the letters, but unfortunately Mike has burnt them. Charlene says that Madge is going to kill her!
Later at the Robinsons
Mr Parker has come to see Jim, Helen, Madge and the kids. Jim says that there was some provocation in the form of anonymous letters. However, since they can't produce the letters, Mr Parker laughs and says the letter never existed! Madge says that Mr Parker has a hide to throw his weight around. But Mr Parker says he's going to take the case as far as legally possible.
Ramsays
Madge doesn't know how she's going to pay if Mr Parker wins his case.
Charlene answers the phone to Shane at the pub. He asks Charlene for help in getting Dan and Edna back together. She has to get Edna talking about the old days.
When Madge has gone off for a bath, Charlene follows her instructions and gets Edna talking about the old days. She tells Charlene about the dances she used to go to with Dan. Edna starts to show Charlene how to dance. Edna starts to hum an old song called, "Wanting You, Wanting Me".
Edna says that she and Dan had a good life, despite the tough economic times. Then she gets sad that she and Dan weren't married at all.
The Pub
Clive and Shane are getting Dan to talk about the past. He tells them about the Depression and how Edna always somehow got some food on the table. He reminisces about the dances they used to go to and music by John Bowls. He says it's a pity things have changed now.
Robinsons
The Robinsons and Ruth are having dinner and worrying about the assault case. Jim wants Scott to tell him who exactly punched Sue, but Scott says they are all in it together.
The Pub
Susan comes in with some books from the library on the Depression and the 1930s and gives them to Clive. Apparently they're part of his plan. He tells Shane and Susan to meet him later to type up a script!
Robinsons, the following morning
Ruth has cooked breakfast and Lucy says that Ruth has been teaching her to cook too. Helen is clearly starting to feel a bit pushed out - all the meals are cooked and the housework is done.
When Helen has gone to put the washing out, Ruth tells Jim she's worried that she's upset Helen by doing too much around the house.
Clarkes
Clive is making Charlene, Scott and Mike rehearse a song to help get Dan and Edna back together.
Ramsays
Edna and Dan are still bickering when Clive comes in. He tells Madge that everything is organised and asks Dan and Edna to come to a party to celebrate their separation!
Later at the Ramsays
Madge has cooked rabbit for dinner and Dan comments that he ate a lot of rabbit during the Despression.
After dinner, Dan, Edna and Madge gather in the sitting room where Clive, Shane, Charlene, Scott and Mike are already dressed up in 1930s clothes!
Clive dims the lights and shows slides from the 1930s, telling the story of the Depression and other events.
Robinsons
Helen is sketching Jim when Ruth comes in. Helen apologises for snapping at her that morning. Ruth says she'd managed to sell an emerald ring and gives Jim and Helen the money for her keep. She says she's going to start looking for somewhere to live - she can't stay with the Robinsons indefinitely. Jim says she can stay on as long as she likes.
Ramsays
Clive is now telling the story of how Dan and Edna got together at a dance. Edna picks up the story and says it was the first time she'd been out on her own. Dan tells how he asked Edna to dance. Just then Charlene and Scott start dancing in 1930s style to set the mood. Dan and Edna get up and start dancing too. Charlene sings, "Wanting You, Wanting Me" as Scott and Mike accompany her on the guitar and keyboard.
After a while Dan hugs Edna to him and asks her to marry him. Edna accepts.
