Clive agrees to ease off a little. They have a pash and Mrs Mangel howls in disgust at their behaviour. Clive says he can't help himself - whenever he sees an attractive woman he has to hug her! Jane suggests that Daphne runs some sort of competition to get the customers back. Mrs Mangel comes in and tells Jane to come home but Mrs Mangel doesn't want her fraternising with "boys like these" (meaning Mike and Scott!) Daphne takes offence on their behalf, and is about to tackle Mrs Mangel on the subject when they hear a noise outside.
Outside the Coffee Shop
Clive is ringing a bell and wearing a sandwich board about the "Great Jellybean Swindle". It's a competition - if anyone can guess the number of jellybeans in the fish-tank they win a month of free dinners at Daphne's! Daphne is not pleased and tells Clive that he'll ruin her!
Vicky and Lucy are playing with dolls. She seems to have cheered up a bit. Kate rings up to say that she's home. Helen and Lucy walk Vicky home.

Garden of Clive's

Helen comes on to the balcony and over hears this last bit.
HELEN: Tell anybody what?
