Recap
- Helen tells Jim that Max won't be able to save his marriage.
- Maria tells Danny and Shane that she wants a divorce.
- Julie is upset over Phil. He tells her she didn't make a mistake in throwing herself at him.
- Jim calls Phil and arranges to meet him.
The Bank
Jim comes in and tells Julie he's come to see Phil. Phil shakes his hand and Jim goes through to the office.
Manager's Office
Jim tells Phil that he's come because he has an account with the bank and he wants to get to know the new manager (Phil). They have a chat about Phil's circumstances. Phil asks if Jim has come to talk about Julie and Jim admits he has.
Phil says he's done a lot of thinking - about how he'd react if his own daughter went out with a married man.
JIM: And how would you react?
PHIL: I think I'd want to kill him.
The Bank
Julie is pottering about wondering what's going on.
Manager's Office
Jim says he's the old-fashioned type and thinks Julie is in danger of getting hurt. He wants Phil to tell him what the score is.
Phil tells Jim frankly that his marriage is in name only - and it was over a long time before meeting Julie. His and Julie's relationship was a surprise, but they like each other.
JIM: Do you love her?
PHIL: Yes, I love her.
JIM: Well...at least I feel we can talk to each other then. Thanks for seeing me.
Phil stops Jim leaving and tells him rather bluntly that he and Julie are not sleeping together. Jim looks a bit surprised.
The Bank
Phil and Jim shake hands goodbye.
Ramsay Street
Wendy calls out to Scott - she's locked out of the house. He comes up to give her a hand and she introduces herself. Scott manages to open the door for her. Scott gets all nervous and says he'll see Wendy soon.
Robinsons
Paul, Lucy and Scott are playing with Basil. It's absolute bedlam and Helen tells them to take it outside!
Jim comes in and tells Helen he's been to the bank to get Phil's measure. He says he seems like a really nice sort of bloke. But this is no casual affair - Phil is in love with Julie. He doesn't seem to be a womaniser - he's honest and decent. Jim says he's really quite worried about both of them.
Manager's Office
Julie comes in and asks Phil what Jim wanted. She's upset to hear that Jim talked about her and Phil's relationship, but Phil said it was alright.
Robinsons
Lucy answers the door to Wendy, who is looking for Scott. Scott introduces Wendy to Jim and Paul.
Paul asks Wendy how her holiday is going and if she's seen much of the city. He suggests that Scott could show her round(!) Lucy asks Wendy if she thinks Scott is a hunk(!) Scott is very embarrassed, but Wendy says she thinks Scott has great sex appeal!
Outside the Robinsons
Scott and Wendy are walking along and chatting. They agree to meet up tomorrow night so Scott can show Wendy around the city. She asks Scott if he'll take her to an expensive restaurant. He is takenaback, but agrees. Wendy kisses him!
Des's
Des is looking upset and Daphne asks if he's OK. Eventually he starts ranting about girls who take up with married men. Daphne says that Eileen phoned to say she's making him a trifle! Des wishes Eileen had gone back to Perth(!)
Terry comes in and Daphne says she's got a message from Shane - he'll pick her up at 7pm to go to a concert. Terry is very excited. Daphne isn't impressed.
Robinsons
Paul asks Scott about Wendy - what about Danny? Scott isn't sure what the position with Danny is, but anyway, he's taking her out to Grisabella's and expensive restaurant. Scott asks Paul for a donation(!) He gives him a loan of $20.
Des's
Des is delaying going to Eileen's but Daphne says he'd better head off.
Just then Shane arrives to pick Terry up. Shane tells Terry he's stuck - he can't take Terry out because he has to work. She is very disappointed. Suddenly Shane gets an idea and says he'll be back in a minute.
Robinsons
Shane arrives and asks Paul if he'll take Terry out to the concert. Paul is chuffed and says he'll take Terry to dinner too. He asks Scott for his $20 back!
Paul gets on the phone and tells Daphne to give Terry the message that he'll pick her up in 15 minutes. When the message is relayed, Terry isn't impressed.
Des's
Terry tells Paul that she's not coming to the concert. Daphne explains to Paul that Shane has already tried to palm Terry off on Des once tonight(!) and she's fed up - no-one asked her what she wanted to do!
Paul asks Terry out properly - to dinner. He rips up the concert tickets. She is surprised, but agrees.
Robinsons
Scott comes to ask Jim for a loan. He gives him 2 weeks advance on his pocket money.
Julie comes in and tells Jim off for going to the bank today, saying she's old enough to know what she's doing. Jim says he thought Phil was a very nice man - his only concern is the effect gossip will have on Julie.
Julie says that she doesn't want people interfering, but Jim says Julie did exactly that when he wanted to bring Anna home. Julie protests that it was different. Jim asks Julie if she really knows her own mind.
Smuggler's Bar
Terry and Paul are eating dinner and having a good time. Paul asks Terry what Shane has that he doesn't. Just then, Shane comes in with a girl and sits down, saying he's promised her the best food in town. Terry is shocked to her core.
