Ramsay Street (caption - one week later)
JJ is driving Remi and Cara into the street, in an echo of the revival's opening. Cara is hungry, even though as JJ points out, they've just had food. Remi laughs. JJ pulls up outside No 24.
CARA: Why are you stopping here?
JJ: What, don't you remember? This is where we parked the day that we arrived here.
They get out of the car.
REMI: I remember. Thankfully your driving's improved.
KARL (waving): Morning!
CARA: I reckon we saw Karl that morning, too.
JJ: Yeah. A lot's happened to us on this street.
REMI: Hmm. Well, we've come full circle. Together again.
JJ: Give or take an annoying little brother.
CARA: Let's enjoy the peace and quiet while it lasts, hey?
REMI: Where to next? That's the question.
As the Varga- Murphys head to No 30, we drift up over the houses and the piano recalls the Neighbours theme, as the logo appears one last time over Ramsay Street.
No 28
Susan stares out of the window, deep in thought. Karl comes in; he shows her a rose from the garden.
KARL: What do you think? .. Susan?
SUSAN: Is it really over? All the history, all the memories?
KARL: I don't see anything changing for the street.
SUSAN: Feels like déjà vu.
Holly comes out of her room, holding the Ramsay Street History Book.
KARL: We're just remembering a few years back when the neighbours were planning on moving away.
SUSAN: Yeah. And then everyone changed their mind. And when we thought it was all lost, the street was saved. If we go to Shane's event today, are we conceding defeat?
KARL: We have to plan for our future.
SUSAN: And you think that's at Ramsay Hills?
KARL: Yeah.
SUSAN: Both of you?
HOLLY: It could be really cool, yeah. But we know it's sad for you. Don't forget what you wrote in here. 'Together, we've been the perfect blend'.
As Karl joins Holly to look at the book, Susan looks sad.
No 22
Terese and Paul are also gazing out of the window together. Paul asks if Terese is worrying about Susan. Terese says Susan's accepted her decision to move to Robinson Towers, but that it's hard for everyone. Terese can't believe that Paul wants to sit through Shane's presentation today given he's totally against Ramsay Hills.
Zac, Colton, Elle, Jimmy and Nell come in. We learn that Paul's son Andrew and his partner Tash are 'edging closer to saying yes' to coming back and taking up residence at Robinson Towers; it seems Tash is in contention for a management role. Meanwhile Amy, Jimmy's mum, has already agreed to return.
NELL: Hey, Dad's offered his services too. If you need another lawyer on the team.
PAUL: That's what I like to hear. Everybody getting into the spirit of Robinson Towers.
Terese drags Paul off next door, but as they go, Paul glances at Jimmy, tapping his nose. Jimmy nods and smiles - evidently they're up to something...
No 24
Jane, Nicolette, Clint and Isla welcome some visitors - Byron, Aaron and Rhett.
JANE: Oh, how funny! One call from Shane Ramsay brings you all home!
Byron says he was planning to surprise them soon anyway, and Aaron says he and Rhett were overdue a visit.
NICOLETTE: Are you happy to see Dadda, Isla?
ISLA (screaming): Yes!
She runs into Aaron's arms for a big hug.
BYRON: So, Clint - you, uh, gonna do right by our mum this time?
JANE: Byron!
CLINT: It's a fair question. And yes, I am.
Jane wants to know all about Europe and Byron's 'new look' - his beard. Byron says his trip was exactly what he needed to sort his life out.
NICOLETTE: So you're gonna be a sex worker, a lawyer, or something else?
JANE: Nicolette!
BYRON: (...) I've actually made a big decision. I am gonna be a beekeeper.
Everyone looks bemused!
BYRON: Gotcha!
NICOLETTE: Oh, wow, that was so funny (!)
Paul, Terese, Krista, Leo and Abigail all come in to join the reunion, and greet the returnees happily.
Ramsay Street
The cul de sac is still adorned with 'Fight the Freeway' signs. Andrew is just approaching No 30 when Sadie calls out 'Dad'; she and Wendy are doing some gardening in the driveway of No 26. He walks over to them, pleased to be acknowledged.
SADIE: How are you doing?
ANDREW: Yeah, I'm okay. Taking things day by day. How about you guys?
WENDY: Yeah, we're okay too. Thank you for filling out all the paperwork. Once we get money for the house, we're gonna be able to... all move on from there.
Felix comes out of No 30 to join them. Andrew says he might see them at the Waterhole later - it sounds like there's going to be a bit of a reunion. Wendy and Sadie agree, and smile as Andrew and Felix walk off.
SADIE: He's not begging you to forgive him anymore.
WENDY: No...
SADIE: This is the first time since it's happened... that I miss him.
Wendy puts an arm around Sadie.
No 24
The reunion continues. Aaron says he's enjoying being in Adelaide with the 'Brennan brigade', and Rhett is getting to see Tilly every day.
AARON: Yeah, but I don't know. It might not be forever. We could be up for investing in something back here.
Byron suggests Ramsay Hills. Paul is surprisingly casual about that proposal!
PAUL: By all means, go listen to Shane's spiel.
RHETT: Really? We were half- expecting you to ban us from attending.
PAUL: Yeah, well - you might think differently about it later. I mean, for what it's worth, I'm actually interested to hear what Shane has to say myself. Don't think it's gonna be a lot, though.
As Abigail and Isla do some colouring, Nicolette checks in with Krista to ask how she's feeling.
KRISTA: Yeah. Getting stronger every day (...) And since you and Holly already know, we thought we'd tell everybody.
Krista then gets everyone's attention and says she and Leo have something to tell them all.
LEO: Yeah. We know it's a little early to say - but we thought since you're all here, we may as well.
KRISTA: Leo and I are pregnant.
Surprised gasps all round.
TERESE: Are you okay with this?
KRISTA: Yeah, I'm getting there.
Everyone rushes over to congratulate them.
The Waterhole
More reunions are afoot as Byron gives Haz a massive hug, and likewise Holly and Mackenzie! Haz asks how Holly has been; she says she's okay, but...
HOLLY: I've done a pretty epic Holly.
MACKENZIE: You need to forgive yourself, babe. And grieve.
HOLLY: I have been.
BYRON: Hoyland, you've got an amazing life ahead of you.
HOLLY: Yeah. We all do.
They get talking about the new developments - Haz and Mackenzie are happy in Paris, but are thinking of buying an investment property here.
BYRON: Well, I reckon a big back yard would really suit Trevor.
HAZ: Yeah, that's true - plus he's missing the beaches big time.
Sadie comes in with Max and Taye, and squeals with delight when she sees Mackenzie. They share a big hug, while Taye and Max greet Byron and Haz.
MACKENZIE: Look at us! The sharehouse, past and present.
Ramsay Street
Susan and Karl come out of No 28, and wave over to Paul and Terese who are also leaving No 22 - both pairs headed for Shane's presentation at the Waterhole. Susan stops to take another look around Ramsay Street, and looks very dismayed for its likely future.
Lassiter's Complex
Krista and Leo are gazing up at the hotel.
LEO: How are you feeling about it?
KRISTA: Still don't know.
But she says her pregnancy is a bit of a game changer.
LEO: Well, we don't have to make any decisions just yet.
In the car park, Shane is preparing a coach to take his prospective investors to Ramsay Hills. Paul and Terese approach.
SHANE: Glad you're coming on the tour, mate.
PAUL (smug): It's gonna be a great day.
Terese follows, wondering what Paul is up to.
The Waterhole
As Paul, Shane and Terese turn up, numerous current residents have arrived, and also more returning faces - including Roxy, who has dyed her hair brunette. Terese thinks it's gorgeous.
ROXY: I'm embracing my inner Auntie T.
Ned Willis and Levi Canning are also back.
LEVI: Freya says hi, guys.
NED: And so does Yashvi.
(Maybe they're a quadrouple now? Speculation, not spoiler!)
Shane is glad they could all make it and that they're open to Ramsay Hills.
NED: Well, it's not definite, but we might be open to a move back here one day.
ROXY: Yeah, and us too. I finally convinced Kyle that Darwin is not for us.
LEVI: I'm not opposed to transferring back here either, so...
Ned and Levi exchange a glance.
ROXY: So, what's this, Paulie, I hear about Paulie Towers?
LEVI: Ooh, what's Paulie Towers?
PAUL: *Robinson* Towers.
But before he can launch into his sales pitch, he spots Mackenzie behind them and goes off to give her a big hug. Meanwhile, Nicolette goes to the bar and is surprised to see another returnee - Kiri!
KIRI: Surprise!
NICOLETTE: It's... so great to see you. Who are you here for? I mean... who dragged you down here? Shane or Paul?
KIRI (laughs): I'm keeping my options open.
An awkward silence descends between them as they smile at one another. We drift around the room as RSRs past and present get reacquainted; Ned has a hug for Leo, while Wendy tells Remi it's wonderful that she has her memory back.
REMI: It is. I feel incredibly lucky. It's like I was a ghost version of myself. Now I'm back, baby.
TAYE: Bet you've been making up for lost time as well?
Remi laughs as Sadie gives Taye a playful slap on the shoulder. But tellingly, Remi and Cara don't deny it! Andrew asks Remi where the last few months sit in her mind.
REMI: Like I'm back from a weird bad dream. Thinking of the family being split up just really hurts. I wish I could forget that.
WENDY: So, just forget it.
REMI: Just like that?
WENDY: Pretend it never happened. Just click your fingers and go back to the way you were.
If Andrew is gleaning any hope for his marriage from this, he's interrupted by his old colleague Levi, and they go in for a hug.
A familiar laugh peals out around the room - Melanie is here! Jane spots her and rushes over for a hug.
MELANIE: Vic sends his love. How are you all?
KARL: Well, it's... an unusual time for everyone.
MELANIE: I still can't believe it. The end of Ramsay Street.
Karl, Jane and Susan look sad.
By the dartboard, Elle is greeted by an old flame - Lucas Fitzgerald! They share a hug.
LUCAS: Loving the hair. Matches your, uh, personality.
ELLE (laughs): Well, you look exactly the same! I mean, I'm not sure I'm digging the beard...
Felix interrupts, and Lucas offers his hand and casually introduces himself as 'the ex'!
The time has arrived for Shane's presentation, and he asks for some quiet as he and Max take the stage. Two drinks have appeared on the bar which are taken over to Shane and Max by the barman. Jimmy and Paul exchange a mischievous glance.
SHANE: As I look around this room, I am heartened to see so many familiar faces, old and new.
MELANIE: Who are you calling old?
SHANE: Never you, Melanie! I see a wonderful group of friends, families, and neighbours. The good news is that spirit can continue in Ramsay Hills. A brand new suburb for us all.
MAX: And it's only nine minutes away, connected by the freeway.
Shane prepares to screen a video, after which they will head off on the coach for the tour. But as lush, rolling hills appear on the monitor, Shane and Max each take a sip of the drinks that were brought to them, and suddenly start having coughing fits!
Seizing their moment, Paul and Jimmy push through the crowd to the stage, and Jimmy replaces Shane and Max's laptop with their own, connecting it up to the monitor, while Paul feigns concern for Shane!
SHANE (coughing): I... can't speak!
PAUL: You can't speak? Oh, that's a shame - that's terrible (!) Anyway, it'd be a shame to waste this occasion, then, wouldn't it? Everyone - I give you Robinson Towers!
Some snazzy graphics appear on the screen, overlaid with a corporate logo for the development. As Paul starts his speech, Karl remarks that nobody else seems to have reacted badly to the drinks, and suggests to Max and Shane that it was a 'bad batch'.
MAX (croaking): He spiked our drinks.
SHANE (croaking): You'll have to speak.
KARL: What, me?
SHANE: Get up there! Tell everyone about Ramsay Hills.
KARL: I haven't prepared anything!
MAX: Do you want Kennedy Street or not?
Spurred into action by this, Karl takes the stage just as Paul is bragging about the 'world- class hotel' that will be on his new site.
PAUL: Just imagine. Instead of going to the Waterhole for a drink, how about a city bar? Or instead of popping down to Harold's for a coffee, what about a latte by the Yarra? ... Karl, is there something you wanted?
KARL: Uh... yes, yes. This event was planned to promote Ramsay Hills, so Shane has asked me to speak on his behalf.
Max has managed to change over the equipment again, and the Ramsay Hills promo video now plays.
KARL: As you can see, it's a beautiful part of the world. The pace of life will be close to what we have here.
ROXY: Uh, excuse me! Is it true that there's gonna be a Kennedy Street?
KARL: Ah, yes, indeed! Our family are to be honoured.
VERA: What about Robinson Towers? Might there be some Punt featured?
SUE PARKER: Vera, what are you even doing here? Don't you live in a retirement home?
VERA: I'm here for the free cocktails. Why are *you* here, Sue? No one likes ya.
Much laughter at this! Jane then has a pertinent question.
JANE: We've all seen the mod cons. But, okay, how can either of you capture the *essence* of Ramsay Street - its heart and soul - in either of these locations?
KARL (stammering): That's a very good question, Jane.
Karl has no idea of how to answer it, so looks at Paul who is equally lost for words. Eventually...
PAUL: ... Well, I guess it boils down to... what makes a street.
KARL: And, and, uh...
Everybody is waiting expectantly! So Karl is forced to resort to plagiarism - of his wife!
KARL: Well... how do you begin to describe a street?
Susan looks peeved!
KARL: Do you talk about the houses? Or, umm... or the bricks, the mortar, the gardens and trees?
As he speaks, rousing orchestral music plays as we half- fade and see images of Ramsay Street, overlaid on the Waterhole footage of Susan listening. Paul now intervenes and starts riffing on Susan's famous 2022 finale speech himself! Susan shakes her head in disbelief as she continues to think of Ramsay Street.
PAUL: Or do you speak about the people? Everyone young and old, and everyone in between?
KARL: Families. Well, I mean, they come in all shapes and sizes. Friends become family, whether they're related or not.
PAUL: I think that love will be a central theme. I mean, things seldom go smoothly, but they usually work out in the end.
Through all this, we remain fixed on Susan, and the overlaid Ramsay Street footage closes in on the Kennedys' home, No 28, before fading away again.
KARL: I think... we need to celebrate it all - the good and the bad. All of this makes us who we are. The perfect blend.
Karl smiles proudly as the triumphal music crescendoes, before coming to an end. But Susan is already walking out of the pub!
Harold's Café
Susan comes in to find Annalise sitting at a table, and goes over to join her.
ANNALISE: I wanted to come to the Waterhole, but didn't think I'd be welcome.
SUSAN: Oh, you didn't decide the course of the freeway, did you... Is it really all lost? Has the whole suburb truly given up?
ANNALISE: Hmm...
SUSAN: What? Do you know something?
ANNALISE: Oh... look, the council don't want to admit this, but... there is a growing resistance.
SUSAN: Really?
ANNALISE: Mm. Also, there is a precedent. Yeah, it's a little community about an hour outside of Sydney - you know, not dissimilar to this. They've found a way to keep going.
SUSAN: How? What did they do?
Annalise pulls a bit of a face, and we cut away!
Lassiter's Complex
Two rival coaches are now in the car park - one marked 'Ramsay Hills' and the other 'Robinson Towers', being guarded by Max and Jimmy respectively. Shane and Paul are nearby.
SHANE (croaking): You sly old dog.
PAUL: Enough with the 'old', thanks. Anyway, I think Black Jack Ramsay would've appreciated my little stunt, don't you think?
Shane fumes, and then he and Paul simultaneously shout for Max and Jimmy respectively. The boys begin hollering to try and lure the approaching Ramsay Street residents onto their respective coaches.
TERESE: You know, I knew Paul was up to something.
SUSAN: Yeah, Karl certainly rose to the occasion too (!)
JANE: What about what they said? Isn't that what you wrote in the history book?
SUSAN: Yep.
TERESE: I know I've agreed to move, but this is killing me. The thought of us not being neighbours anymore...
Karl shows up, and Terese tells him she's trying to convince Jane and Susan to come with her to Robinson Towers. Nell turns up and asks if Terese is ready to go. They head for the Robinson Towers coach, Terese promising to save Susan and Jane a seat just in case.
KARL (to Susan): Are you alright?
SUSAN: Just can't stop thinking about what you and Paul said.
KARL: Oh, yeah. I hope you don't mind me borrowing your words like that...
But before she can answer, Holly turns up and starts hurrying Karl towards the Ramsay Hills coach. Karl says he'd understand if Susan wanted to go with Terese and check out the Robinson Towers site, and walks off. Susan remains where she is, looking deeply conflicted.
A road somewhere
Terese is taking a selfie on board the coach to Robinson Towers! Among the other RSRs in this party are Aaron, Byron, Colton, Elle, Felix, Jimmy, Kiri, Krista, Leo, Ned, Nell, Nicolette, Paul, Rhett, Roxy, Sadie, Taye, Terese, Wendy and Zac.
Another road somewhere else
On the other coach to Ramsay Hills, Karl is taking a video of everyone on his phone. Andrew, Cara, Clint, Haz, Holly, Jane, JJ, Karl, Levi, Lucas, Mackenzie, Max, Melanie, Remi and Shane are on board this coach.
We now cut between the two separate coach scenes, as various of the RSRs chat excitedly between themselves and smile to camera as they film themselves.
REMI: Hello, Ramsay Hills, here we come.
JJ: Ramsay Hills!
ROXY: See you losers later. I'll be in my penthouse.
Robinson Towers Site
In central Melbourne, Paul welcomes his coach party to the site for Robinson Towers, giving them brochures as they step off the vehicle.
Ramsay Hills site
Shane is doing likewise in the middle of a field up a hill somewhere!
Robinson Towers site
We get a lovely wide shot of the whole party gathering on a hill, to gaze admiringly at Paul's vacant plot of land in the middle of the Central Business District!
PAUL: Just imagine a residential tower there, and a hotel tower there, hmm?
Ramsay Hills site
Shane's party is gathering at what currently looks like a hill fort!
SHANE: You just need to use your imagination. Pretend the suburb is around you. The city's over there.
Shortly afterwards...
CLINT: Can you see yourself here?
JANE: Well, it's gorgeous.
CLINT: Yeah. Maybe I could see myself and Addison here, too.
Jane smiles at him.
Robinson Towers site
Paul is wondering why Jane isn't with his party. Aaron wants some firm reasons as to why they should invest in Robinson Towers.
PAUL: Because we are family, and we should all be together.
NED: Nice of you to include me and Yash in that, Paul.
PAUL: Ah, all families welcome, extended or otherwise.
TERESE (to Nell): And there will always be room for you too, sweetheart.
ROXY: I'm kind of feeling torn between the families.
BYRON: Hang on, but you're not a Ramsay or a Robinson. You are a Canning, last time I checked.
ROXY: Hey, hey! And who are *you*, exactly?
They all laugh.
Ramsay Hills site
Haz and Mackenzie are picturing having a house here. Melanie thinks she could see Vic and herself living here. Lucas thinks his wife Vanessa and their kids might like it too.
LEVI: I might've picked the wrong bus.
They all laugh.
Robinson Towers site
Zac, Colton, Elle, Jimmy, Nell, Zac and Felix are chatting about the site.
COLTON (to Elle): This future Paul's setting up - you two living and working together?
ELLE: It's mildly controlling, yes.
COLTON: Do you think he's setting up some sort of battle? Who'll win the empire?
Ramsay Hills site
Remi, Cara and JJ are chatting. JJ thinks the site is cool, but he liked Paul's pitch too.
REMI: Yeah? Well, either way - we'll be together!
Robinson Towers site
Nicolette and Kiri are having a walk- and- talk. Kiri has heard Nic is trying for a baby.
NICOLETTE: You heard right. I actually just found a sperm donor.
KIRI: Congratulations!
NICOLETTE (laughs): Yeah. There's sperm on ice with my name on it! I'm good to go.
KIRI: I'm happy for you.
They smile at one another. Meanwhile, Sadie and Wendy are with Taye, and looking sombre.
SADIE: I'm thinking about it too. It's weird moving on without Dad.
Wendy puts an arm around her.
Ramsay Hills site
Holly and Andrew are at the hill fort. Holly spots a river.
HOLLY: River. Maybe we should name him River.
ANDREW: I reckon that's perfect.
Robinson Towers site
Krista and Leo are walking around the site together.
LEO: So what do you reckon?
KRISTA: I reckon we focus on our party of four for now.
Nearby, Paul asks Terese...
PAUL: So, you see the future?
TERESE: I can. I can - I'm just sad the others aren't here. Especially Karl and Susan.
Paul hugs her.
Ramsay Hills site
Shane tells Karl he thinks today has been a success, despite Paul's meddling.
KARL: Yeah. I just hope Susan will agree.
The Waterhole
Vera is the only one left in the Waterhole, having hopped on neither of the buses, and is still working her way through the free cocktails. She takes a bite of her lemon garnish and pulls a face!
Shane's party arrives back at the pub at the same time as Paul's, and Shane declares that the drinks are on him. Nell asks if JJ is staying around. He says he's got to go, but they agree to catch up soon.
TERESE: It is so lovely, seeing everyone together.
JANE: Yeah. And we owe it all to Ramsay Street. It is a special place.
PAUL: Yeah, it sure is. The complex has been pretty special too.
JANE: Yeah, it's just... so much history. It's gonna be hard to say goodbye.
Meanwhile, JJ is suggesting to his mum and ma that they see what Dex thinks about Ramsay Hills and Robinson Towers. This reminds Remi and Cara that Dex is on his way home from school camp, and they rush out.
KARL: Hey, where's Susan?
TERESE: I thought she was on the bus with you?
KARL: No, I thought she went with you.
Jane hasn't seen her either, and Karl looks worried.
No 30
Remi, Cara and JJ come home to find Dex already in the house waiting for them! He has a big hug for his brother, then his mum and ma. Conversation quickly turns to Ramsay Hills and Robinson Towers.
DEX: So, what have you guys decided, then?
REMI: We haven't, yet.
CARA: Yep. You get the last vote.
JJ: Yeah. Two against one so far.
DEX: So, no pressure, then.
REMI: No, none. Just our entire future at stake.
They all talk at once, pestering Dex for his answer.
REMI: Well?
CARA: What do you reckon?
JJ: What's it gonna be?
Dex looks perplexed!
The Waterhole
An upbeat dance- track version of the theme tune that this summariser has never heard before is playing as the big Ramsay Street reunion continues into the evening. Roxy is recalling her original arrival in Erinsborough by strutting up and down on the bar! Levi and Ned help her down. Everyone is having a great time; the shots have been poured, and various residents past and present, plus Vera, are tearing up the dance floor.
Jane and Clint are sharing a dessert at the bar, Felix and Elle are pashing in a corner, as are Zac and Colton. Melanie convinces Krista to come and have a dance, and likewise Aaron with Rhett. Wendy is dancing too, but as she climbs down from the stage and runs into Andrew by accident, their eyes meet.
At this moment, the upbeat version of the theme gives way to a poignant piano version, and we lapse into slow motion, visiting various residents around the room. There's dancing, and hugging, and lots of joy - but tinged with deep sadness that these people we've known and loved have reached the end, for now, of their story. We close on Terese and Jane, looking wistful, and joyful, as they watch their friends and neighbours having fun.
Ramsay Street
The piano theme continues, as does the slow motion, as we follow Susan through the archway at the front of No 28 for the final time, past the 'Fight the Freeway' sign on the lawn. As she looks around at the six houses of the cul de sac, we hear the fleeting echoes of some voices from long ago.
HELEN DANIELS: I think I've heard enough of the Ramsay/Robinson feud to last me a lifetime.
LYN SCULLY: I'm Lyn.
SUSAN (in the past): Hello, I'm Susan.
LYN: This is Joe - Scully.
JOE SCULLY: Nice to meet you.
SUSAN: Hello - Susan. Hi.
MADGE BISHOP: Lou Carpenter, will you move that contraption?
SHANE: Hi, my name's Ramsay - Shane Ramsay.
TOADIE: Gentlemen - to the House of Trouser!
SUSAN: Karl? I love you.
KARL: I love you too.
We then hear echoes of the street party of 2022 for Toadie and Melanie's wedding. Karl cries, 'Toad, look out!' as the balloon escapes and then pops, before raining its confetti over everybody. The crowd cheers.
In the present, Susan smiles sadly at the memory. Karl and Paul then approach her.
KARL: Susan?
PAUL: Susan!
KARL: What are you doing here? We thought you were looking at Robinson Towers?
PAUL (simultaneously): Ramsay Hills.
SUSAN: I couldn't go.
KARL: There's a lot of excitement at Ramsay Hills.
PAUL: Yeah, same at Robinson Towers.
KARL: Well, I can see a life at either place.
PAUL: Yeah, look - you know, as much as I would love everybody to come with me, I actually think we've got two viable options for the future on the table.
SUSAN: Three options.
KARL: Um...
The piano theme ends.
SUSAN (smiling): I want to stay. I want to fight for the street.
KARL: Darling, you know it's impossible.
Fresh music - it's 'Winds of Change', by Aiza and C The Reason.
SUSAN (laughs): It's not. It's not. Other communities have beaten the odds. We could be one of them. All day, I've had this sense - we've been here before.
KARL: We have. Déjà vu.
SUSAN: Yes. And we came out the other side bigger and better than before.
PAUL: Yeah, I suppose that's true.
SUSAN: Ramsay Hills looks wonderful.
KARL: You know, it is.
SUSAN (emotional): So does Robinson Towers. I can see them both in my mind's eye - I can... But I love Ramsay Street. I love our friends. I love our neighbours. And I don't want to find a new perfect blend... I want to stay in this one.
PAUL (nodding): So what do we do?
Susan simply smiles, as we drift away from the trio down Ramsay Street, till we reach the iconic sign, and then upwards - way upwards, beyond Harold's camper van, the six famous houses, and even the telegraph wires - till Karl, Paul and Susan are no more than dots from our perspective, high above them. We fade to black. Farewell Ramsay Street, and goodbye Neighbours - we'll miss you, all over again.
