Number 30
Andrew and Felix join Cara, Remi and Elle to try and decipher the note about JJ. They are none the wiser what it is about and given the news about Eric escaping, they wonder if it is connected? Andrew is confident though that they will find the lad.
Harold's café
Jane spots Clint downing his sorrows over a cuppa when she enters the café and hears that Addison has checked in with her dad to see how he is going.
After ending her call with Cara, Nicolette interrupts the pair to see if Clint can check in with Addison to see if she's heard from JJ today. While Clint goes to call Addison, Nicolette is fearful for her friend but knows she can't leave the café, so Jane volunteers instead to check in with her.
Number 30
Andrew organises the search party and as everyone gets ready to leave, Remi comments that she thought this was over and that they were safe.
ANDREW: Let's not assume the worst.
The group get some news with Jane, Clint and Addison's arrival - the lass saw JJ at the pavilion about 2 hours ago. Andrew suggests they head there and Cara goes to update the station while Jane volunteers to stay at the street in case the lad comes home.
Pavilion
The group arrive at the pavilion where Taye and Sadie are having a coffee. The pair are quickly updated but neither have seen the lad. As the uniforms haven't turned up yet, Andrew unofficially gives out the instructions on searching for JJ.
As everyone begins searching, Cara finally gets hold of her Sn. Sgt Thompson and is unamused that Eric is getting the priority rather than JJ. After she comes off the phone, when asked by Remi, Cara admits that she is scared. "Me too," Remi replies back just as Addison finds JJ's phone.
Number 26
Wendy stands looking at the packed up stuff when Taye/Sadie comes in and tell her about JJ being missing and immediately, she volunteers to help.
Number 24
Addison is being praised by the adults for finding JJ's phone earlier but as it's getting late, Clint suggests that it is time he took her home to Shannon.
The Ramsay Street history book is at #24 for Jane to add her bit and Nicolette is surprised she's writing about Mike/Angela (she wanted to "cover off his story") but we hear Jane can't finish since he is no longer a RSR in addition to Jane "feeling funny about it."
JANE: Mike got this happy ever after in Europe and I'm here with the street crumbling beneath me.
NICOLETTE: Yeah, I got the message from Paul about Robinson Towers.
JANE: All just happening so fast. And I don't know what's going on with Clint or whether… whether anything's going on at all.
NICOLETTE: I thought you were keeping an open mind.
JANE: Well I am… I also don't want to give him false hope, but I can't make a decision about anything right now.
Lassiters Complex
Cara is getting nowhere with Sn. Sgt Thompson trying to get him to prioritise JJ over hunting for Eric. Andrew pleads with him too but gets cut down when Sn. Sgt Thompson comments that they're "trying to fix a big screw up and I've just lost a sergeant!" Despite the words, Andrew isn't letting it go and eventually wears Sn. Sgt Thompson down and he takes the note from Cara about JJ.
Meanwhile, Elle is not sure what she can do to make Felix better. "I don't think you can do anything," he replies back then goes on to lament that he wasn't much older than JJ is now when he donated his swimmers [to Cara], adding "who would've thought it'd be one of the best things I ever did?"
FELIX: I was just getting to know him. I can't lose him now.
Elle comforts the now crying Felix and with everyone's attention focused in the complex itself, they don't notice the nearby parked ambulance. If they did, they would know that is where Eric (and his crony, Ricky) has JJ!
ERIC: Everyone out there's looking a bit worried mate, they must be missing you!
The lad is restrained on a stretcher with a gag around his mouth preventing him from talking.
The Waterhole
Andrew runs by the plan with Felix/Elle - showing everyone a picture of JJ and seeing what they know. Felix is sure that "someone must have seen something," but then has doubts if he will see his son again, punishment for all his bad choices. Andrew/Elle are quick to reassure him that isn't how life works and that he's now turned his life around too.
ANDREW: I'm the Rodwell screw- up, not you!
Number 30
Cara updates Remi that she hopes Sn. Sgt Thompson will update them soon. After Remi asks, Cara doesn't want to contact Dex, as he is safe at camp plus JJ might arrive home any minute.
Nicolette arrives with hot chocolate and a hug for Cara. When Remi is outside looking for the pressure cooker (Wendy want to use that to cook up food for everyone) it looks like she might be having another memory return.
Power Road
The ambulance is now outside the garage and at least JJ is getting some water while they wait for Tania to arrive with money for Eric. Ricky thinks they don't need JJ, plus it's risky too, so Eric decides to fill JJ and Ricky in on why he's being held.
ERIC: Your mum and grandpa couldn't leave well enough alone. Because of them, I got separated from my brother. My family! And now Cara's gonna know what that feels like.
Number 30
Remi and Cara patiently wait for news of JJ.
(Next day)
The ladies bemoan the lack of news overnight. Remi wonders if JJ has been badly hurt and then if the lad is cold, hungry and scared.
REMI: He needs us.
Felix joins the ladies as he couldn't sleep either and Cara goes to make coffee for everyone.
Power Road
Onboard the ambulance, Eric is taking great delight in winding JJ up about how everyone will be "stressing about their lost little boy."
Number 30
Andrew arrives but there is no news. "We really need our son back," Remi says and Felix is sure that the lad is with Eric Linwell and hopes "the cops have a new lead."
Power Road
Eric gets a call from Tania, but she hasn't got his cash. Tania asks how JJ is and after Eric replies "fine… for now" she questions the wisdom of what they are doing. That doesn't go down well, and is firmly told to do what she is told and wait for his cash rather than worrying "about anything else."
Number 30
While they wait for news, Taye asks his sister "are you guys okay?" and Remi's reply is despite the situation, "it's the closest I've felt to her."
Lassiters Complex
As they cut through the complex to the station, Remi suddenly stops and tells Cara that she is a really good mum. "You are too," Cara responds back with.
When Remi heads off to go to the toilet, Cara spots Tania sitting at one of the tables and immediately goes over to ask where JJ is?! Tania plays dumb that she knows, so Cara turns the screws and talks about her daughter. That doesn't go down well but Cara isn't letting the pressure drop and pleads with Tania that "it's up to you to break the cycle."
CARA: You and I were mates once. I am begging you, mother to mother.
Tania doesn't respond back, she simply gathers her belongings and walks away.
Power Road
Holly spots Ricky coming out of the bottle shop and walking back towards the ambulance. She plays dumb and says she is new to the area and wants to know if you can walk to the hospital or need to get a bus. "How would I know?" Ricky replies back with and so Holly points to what he was about to get into! With the penny dropped, he tells her take the bus!
Ricky gets into the ambulance and hears good news, Eric has heard from Tania, she's got the cash! The pair are then interrupted with Holly knocking on the window. |Suddenly JJ starts banging his foot against the side of the ambulance and yelling as loudly as he can, despite the gag around his mouth, but he's done enough to attract Holly's attention. As she bangs on the side of the ambulance, Eric starts the vehicle and takes off. Holly starts running after it before giving up and getting her phone out.
Lassiters Complex/Power Road
Cara, Remi, Felix and Andrew have just left the police station when Andrew hears from Holly. She explains how she recognised Ricky from a photo Andrew shared and is sure she heard JJ in the back of an ambulance that they are using. "You have to find it," Holly finishes with, just as said ambulance arrives back at Lassiters!
It looks like Cara's words got through to Tania because when Eric stops to pick her up, she doesn't budge (or talk) and in the end, he yells at Ricky to go. Unfortunately, he's yelled that a bit too loudly and Felix hears, so he immediately starts rushing towards where the ambulance is taking off.
Quick thinking from Felix means he tries to cut the ambulance off as it goes to go through the car park, and being forced to take evasive action, Ricky instead drives it through the seating area of the pavilion before coming to a sudden halt. Just as the duo go to abandon the ambulance, Erinsborough's finest pounce on them and it is Felix who leads the charge into the back of the ambulance to get JJ. The lad ambles his way out of the ambulance straight into the waiting arms of Remi and while the pair hug each other to death, Cara looks over and sends a silent thanks to Tania.
Ramsay Street
Remi drives Cara, Andrew, Felix and JJ home after his ordeal although Cara wishes they'd taken him to the hospital for a check- up. From the back, JJ reassures her that he is fine and jokes he's spent the past 24- hours in an ambulance!
FELIX: Too soon for jokes mate!
Andrew points out that they've a doctor in the house should he require one later and Remi is quick to reassure Cara that she will keep an eye on JJ. As everyone heads towards the house to get food, it again looks like Remi has had another memory return… and indeed it is confirmed as she's remembered part of a conversation about them liking the street and having friendly neighbours.
Remi remains standing in the street and has a flashback to their arrival in the street and JJ's first driving trip across the city to the street.
Number 30
Everyone piles into the house and head straight for the kitchen, ready to make brekkie so don't see Remi enter the house. She is having another memory return and via a flashback, remembers the anthrax scare [episode 8928 if you want to look in the archive for the summary!] and Cara/Remi declaring their love for each other. The others ignore Remi as she makes her way out to the sun room where again it's another flashback, to Cara and herself kissing.
Eventually, someone pays attention to Remi - Cara and hears the fantastic news that Remi remembers her! "Really?" Cara nervously asks and with a confident nod of the head, Remi replies back "really."
REMI: I've been having twinges over the last day or so. I didn't say anything in case I was wrong, but it's all come back to me. I remember you! I do!
Cara has stood there listening to Remi say what she's just said in almost disbelief.
Power Road
Holly has just left Grease Monkeys when she feels a pain in her stomach and is doubled up in pain.
