Hotel
Holly pulls back when she realises Andrew isn't responding to her pash… and he goes to put the kettle on!
Number 22
Terese is in shock at Paul's admission and isn't sure what to say to him when he asks for her to say something. Paul tries to explain things, making it clear that it was Chelsea who came onto him. Terese is more upset because he kept quiet, and Paul explains why - he kept thinking about David and how he didn't want to lose another child. Terese isn't buying it though and is peeved that it took until she proposed for him to come clean, but again he has his rationale - he didn't want to say his vows while keeping this secret. "Nice to see you've got some standards," Terese sarcastically replies back with! Paul nervously asks if they can move past this but Terese hasn't an answer for him.
Hotel
Andrew/Holly both agree that tonight wasn't the same as their previous trysts, although Holly seems okay with this because she knows what they had, has gone. Andrew reassures Holly that he will always be there for her and the baby before confirming her question that yes, he still does love Wendy.
ANDREW: It's a shame I had to blow up my life to figure that one out.
Number 26
Taye takes the last of Andrew's stuff to the garage and Wendy realises that there's just one more thing to go - her wedding rings but looks like she isn't actually ready yet to take them off her finger. Sadie points out that unlike the other stuff they are cleaning out, the ring rings "actually meant something."
WENDY: I thought it did.
Wendy gets she can't keep the rings on forever and plans on taking things step by step. Sadie adds in that there's no rush.
The Waterhole
When Colton comes into see if Zac wants a nightcap (since his dinner meeting with Krista has ended) she suggests that they work on Zac's welcome toast speech for his forthcoming MC duties as he is freaking out apparently every time he tries to write it. However, chat about it is interrupted when Wes comes into the bar, looking to see if Zac is up for a drink but he makes it clear (by holding Colton's hand) that he's taken.
Number 28
Holly confirms to Karl/Susan that Andrew and herself won't be getting together. After Susan asks, Holly admits she was getting her hopes up about them being a couple, but that was "a fantasy."
HOLLY: It wasn't real. And I can say that now, it's too far gone.
She does add in that they still plan to co- parent the baby when it arrives and Susan suggests that might be better with no romantic issues. The K's firmly reassure Holly that she will always have their support.
Ramsay Street (next day)
The neighbours wake up to find a bunch of workman doing a survey in the street and in their letterboxes is some official looking letter.
Number 28
Terese is unloading to Susan about Paul's admission, frustrated that he didn't say something at the time. Susan reminds her that things were turbulent back then and asks if she can forgive him? Terese jokes at how many times she's been asked that question over the years and in return, Susan points out that depending on what happens with the street, "we might need you two to be a united front!"
Karl comes back in to tell the ladies about the surveyors outside and the letter Karl retrieved from the letterbox is their official notification that their houses are to be compulsory purchased. Susan is irate that there isn't even a forum for objections and is not amused! Karl plans to go visit the council to see what their options are.
SUSAN: There has to be options Karl, there has to be!
Harolds café
Holly comments on how smart Andrew looks when he enters the café and he explains about his hearing but their chat is curtailed when Max comes into the café too. He asks if they have a home for the rocking horse and Holly explains that it's in the living room until the baby's room is sorted out. Andrew adds that 'he' will love it and Max seems happy at the gender news and hopes the kid thinks he's cool for providing him with something to play with.
After Max leaves, Holly comments that the conversation [with Max] felt almost normal and sod's law, just as Andrew sits down next to Holly, Sadie enters the café but they don't spot her and she quickly backtracks out, shocked at what she's just seen.
Number 26
Wendy is surprised to see Sadie back and without a coffee, so the lass explains what she saw when she went into Harolds.
SADIE: I think they're a thing. They failed the test mum.
WENDY: (stoically) Oh!
Sadie can't believe this has happened, and that it is going to be in their faces from now on. Both agree on planning not to having anything to do with them although Wendy does remind Sadie that the baby will be her sibling, even if there is a 20 year gap between them.
WENDY: You can't change the cards that life deals you, but we can play the ones we've got.
Wendy now removes the rings from her finger and lays them on the counter.
Number 32 (garden)
Colton is trying to rope Zac into helping him and Max clear out the 'rubbish' from #32. Max tells the pair about running into Holly/Andrew but that things felt good. He admits that he's happy to no longer feel bitter and twisted before adding that he is looking forward to focusing on something new… once he's decided what that actually is!
Number 28
Karl is back from the council but is still none the wiser as apparently nobody could tell him anything as the place is in chaos without Mayor Brown being at the helm. "There has to be a mechanism for us to protest," Susan states and Karl thinks its up to the RSR to decide what that is and suggests holding another summit and an emphasises that everyone must be on the same page regardless of what is happening in their personal lives.
Number 22
Paul is standing looking out the front window of the house when he gets a text message from Jimmy saying he is half way and will see him soon!
(Later)
Commercial break later and Paul is happy surprised to see Terese back although her comeback is that if anyone is leaving, its him! She then acknowledges that she gets why he lied to her even if "it doesn't make it any less painful" but she's had enough of being her head against a brick wall. Nervously Paul asks, moving forward, where does that leaves them and here reply is "nothing's changed."
TERESE: I fully expect us to be back at this place sometime in the future.
When Paul goes to say something in reply, she warns him against making promises he can't keep because "that's where we get into trouble!" Given the reply she gave, Paul tentatively asks if they are "okay because it feels like we're not."
TERESE: This is me being pragmatic! I think we work as a couple and I don't want to change that.
With his confession out the way, Paul then brings up the prospect of them getting married again and it is a flat out "no" back from Terese because they "aren't going down that road again!"
TERESE: I could pretend that this is some sort of fairytale, but it never will be. That's just how it is.
Terese then reminds him of that they "have enough of a fight on our hands with the street," which he acknowledges.
Lassiters Complex
Zac catches up with Krista to show her the speech he has finally written for her final comments before passing it onto the organiser.
The pair part company and Wes comes up to Krista and introduces himself to her. Subtly he is after a quote related to the tennis videos but she isn't giving one although she inadvertently lets something slip when he starts going on about ground zero and how it started elsewhere before Erinsborough.
Number 22
The residents scripted for today meet up in #22 where Colton relays the news [he's Vera's proxy] that she plans on selling out. Everyone seems scared to check in with the Rodwell's on what their plans are! Karl informs the gathered that he'll put in the group chat about having a summit to plan their next move, hoping that they've managed to convince Vera to change her mind about selling out.
After Colton heads back to work and Paul heads to the kitchen to receive a call, Susan takes the opportunity to ask Terese how their chat went. Terese confirms the wedding is off the table, they'll simply move on instead.
TERESE: We're as good as were ever gonna be.
Meanwhile whoever Paul is talking to, he mentions that he is organising finances for something he has plans to buy, but wherever it is, it seems to involve Jimmy.
Lassiters car park
Holly spots a distraught Andrew sitting in his car and when she knocks on the window to get his attention, he tells her that he's been fired for misconduct and breech of police regulation. She is naturally sorry for him and just as she goes to hug him, Wendy and Sadie pull into the car park and witness this. Holly immediately pulls back and tells the pair "it's not what you think it is" but Wendy couldn't care two monkeys because "it's nothing to do with me anymore."
ANDREW: We're not together! We've decided to co- parent the baby, that's it.
HOLLY: I don't want to be with someone when their heart's with someone else.
After a moments pause, Wendy nonchalantly replies back "good for you!" and walks off into the complex with Sadie. Andrew rushes after her to see if she got the letter about the freeway (she did) and Wendy thinks the timing is very apt and wants them to sell the house "and go our separate ways." She then spots that he still has his wedding band on, and questions why he is still wearing it whilst raising her left hand to show him she no longer is wearing hers.
WENDY: Everything it stood for is gone.
Number 28
After Holly tells them, Karl isn't too surprised at the news Wendy plans on selling up too. Susan does think, even though it is probably unlikely, that Wendy might change her mind.
Someone is up for the fight though, the newly arrived Remi!
Lassiters hotel (reception)
Zac catches Wes at reception just as he appears to have checked out. Wes confirms he has written his article then adds that it's "nothing personal" before departing the hotel.
In the background, some Lassiters staff are huddled together giggling at something on an iPad, which causes them to earn the wrath of Krista when she catches them!
A nervous Zac heads over to where Kirsta is standing, reading what the staff were reading and given the puzzled look on her face, asks if there is a problem?
KRISTA: I don't know, you tell me!
She then hands him the iPad and we see what everyone was looking at - a Daily Monster exclusive revealing 'Lassiters assistant manager behind the OG sex tape'!.
Coming up on Neighbours
- Cara unsure if Remi is behind the freeway plans or not.
- Remi confirming she is against the freeway but they need a chat about the long term.
- Jane happy at Clint's news.
- Addison confirming her Plan B with Leo.
