Leo is telling Nicolette and Aaron about Krista breaking up with him.
LEO: I'm such an idiot. She completely blindsided me.
NICOLETTE: What, so there were no signs? At all?
LEO: No, we've been in a good place... She has been a little bit distant since she started back at work.
NICOLETTE: Do you think that she went back too soon?
LEO: Well, she admitted she almost had a slip- up recently, and she has been AWOL a few times...
Aaron looks shifty, but says nothing.
LEO: I'd know if she was using again. And so what if she's dropped the ball occasionally? You know, she's going through a lot.
NICOLETTE: Well, isn't that more reason to fall back on her crutch?
But Leo doesn't think Krista would jeopardise how well she's doing at work.
NICOLETTE (to Aaron): What do you think? You've been getting really close with Krista lately.
AARON: I think that... look, if she was honest with you about a slip- up before, why wouldn't she be again? Leo, I know this might be hard to hear, but maybe the reasons she gave you for the breakup were the truth.
Nicolette looks incredulous, and Leo awkward. He makes a swift exit.
NICOLETTE: That was a bit harsh.
AARON: He needs to accept it and move on.
Frustrated with Aaron, Nicolette goes to bed. Once she's gone, a worried Aaron makes a call to Krista, but gets her voicemail so hangs up.

Andrew is chatting to Remi and Cara in uniform, telling them about Haz having done a runner. He explains that he needs to check the family's phones again, presumably to make sure there's no malware on them. Worried that Haz may have installed malware in the first place, they ask if they should uninstall the apps he put on. Andrew is cagey, and says they should leave it to the police cyber unit.
Andrew asks how the camping trip went, and Cara explains how Dex was having a tough time and bailed. Remi adds that the boys are fighting a lot and that Dex thinks they're paying JJ too much attention. And JJ still won't listen to anything they say.
ANDREW: I still feel so terrible about what went down with Felix.
CARA: It's not your fault.
REMI: And we think it's important that JJ has a positive male role model. Just so Felix isn't the only reference point.
CARA: Maybe he'll even decide to toss that letter he's been carrying around.
ANDREW: ...
CARA: What are you thinking?
ANDREW: I'd let him deal with it in his own way. When he's ready, he'll let go of the letter.
REMI: Yeah, with the old JJ, I'd agree. It just feels like we've got a completely new kid on our hands. And one that is not making the smartest choices.

Paul and Chelsea are having breakfast, while Leo glumly pours himself a coffee. He tells them that Krista has broken up with him.
PAUL: What on earth happened?
LEO: I dunno. She just said she doesn't want to be with me anymore.
Paul makes sympathetic noises, but Chelsea looks terrified, realising this significantly reduces her hold over Krista.
CHELSEA: Did she give you a reason?
LEO: She just said we're at different stages in our lives, and something about wanting to travel. I think she's just cutting me loose.
PAUL: It just seems so out- of- the- blue.
Leo asks Paul and Chelsea if they've noticed any changes in Krista's behaviour. Paul hasn't.
CHELSEA: I don't want to badmouth her (...) She has been a bit all over the place. Disappearing, uncontactable... I lied a few times when you asked me where she was.
LEO: Why would you do that?
CHELSEA: I just thought she was doing it tougher than she was letting on. But looking back, I realise I should've said something... I'm worried about her.
Lassiter's Complex
Wendy and Sadie come out of the pub having had a 'mother- daughter brekkie', and Wendy is effusive about how much she enjoyed herself. Sadie queries whether Wendy is feeling on the outer because Andrew is spending all his time with JJ, but Wendy laughs it off and says it's a good thing they've bonded. Sadie looks sceptical.
WENDY: No, no, it is. And maybe you could put some more effort into making JJ feel welcome. You know, they're actually doing another boxing session today.
SADIE: Oh, I can't do today. I'm going shopping for new make- up brushes.
WENDY: Look, I'm not asking you to spend the whole day with him.
SADIE (grudgingly): Fine - I'll say hi before I go.
Wendy casually asks if Sadie will be out all afternoon, and she replies 'probably'. Wendy says she's looking forward to having the whole house to herself.
SADIE: Alright, I'm whiplashed here. What happened to all the love?
WENDY: Well, rule one of parenting - always make sure you fill your own cup first before you fill everyone else's.
SADIE: Translation?
WENDY: I've got a little art project I want to work on, and I need some space.
The Waterhole
Krista comes in for a coffee, but Aaron's behind the bar, and starts quizzing her on her decision to break up with Leo. He also wants to know why Krista didn't call him back; she says she's had her phone switched off to avoid Chelsea, who's been bugging her. Aaron wants more details, but Krista tetchily asks him to make her coffee instead.
Paul comes in and immediately approaches Krista to talk about the break- up. She says she appreciates his concern but just needs to be single for a while.
PAUL: Fair enough, that's your prerogative. Look, I know it's very tempting to push people away when you're grieving, but... it never works out in the long run. All I'm saying is, don't turn your back on people who are trying to help, hey?
But Krista's done with the lecture and says she has to go, before Aaron's even given her her coffee.
Lassiter's Hotel
In the office, Chelsea asks for Krista's help with some slogans for a promotional campaign she's working on, and Krista is willing.
CHELSEA: I'm assuming you'd want to focus on work and not talk about anything.
KRISTA: Yes, please.
CHELSEA: Having said that... let me apologise for coming down so hard on you yesterday. I panicked about you telling Paul about something that means nothing in the big scheme of things.
KRISTA (dismissive): Yeah, forget about it.
CHELSEA: I really am sorry, Krista. It was the last thing you needed, and I... hope that there was nothing I did that led you...
KRISTA: What?
CHELSEA: I know you ended things with Leo.
KRISTA: Yeah, well, that wasn't about you.
CHLESEA: Splitting with Leo was probably a good call. I get it... You've still got a lot to lose, though, if you tell Paul about Jeffrey.

JJ is in the garden with Andrew, preparing for his boxing lesson. Sadie comes out to join them, as she promised Wendy she would.
SADIE: I guess it's a good thing I never said yes when you asked me out.
JJ looks very awkward!
SADIE: But no, having a cousin's actually cool. You know, I used to be jealous of other kids who had siblings, and they got to play around with them all day. But I reckon this is better.
JJ: Yeah, well. Would be way cooler hanging out with you than Dex.
ANDREW: Well, we're here for you, mate, if you want to talk about anything.
JJ: Oh, thanks, but I think my mums have all the talking covered. All I want to do is box.
ANDREW: You got it.
Sadie heads off for her shopping trip.
Penthouse
Paul finds Leo moping in the penthouse; he says he couldn't face going to the vineyard today.
LEO: You know, I've been going through old text messages looking for signs, but there's nothing. And part of me wants to chase her down and ask her about it, but... I guess I have to respect her wishes.
PAUL: Hmm. You know, right now, I think maybe you should focus on what *you* need, rather than what's going on with her.
LEO: Yeah, I dunno - I just... I don't get it. Did I miss some giant signals she was sending out, or...?
PAUL: Probably very little of this is about you (...) Krista had many reasons not to open up about herself to you, and yet she did. Well, to me, that's a sign that you were exactly the right person for her.
LEO: Then what changed?
PAUL: I dunno. I think only she can answer that. But you know, if there's one thing I've learned since David's death, it's that people can find a way back to each other. Come on, just give it time, son.

The boxing training is underway; Andrew has pads on his hands that JJ is boxing against, and is encouraging him to hit harder. Just as Wendy comes into the garden, one of JJ's punches lands, and knocks Andrew to the floor. He's not hurt, and tells JJ his technique is getting really good. But worried about Andrew's ribs, Wendy calls time on the session, and JJ heads home.
Once he's gone, Wendy reveals she has an ulterior motive, telling Andrew she needs him in 'good working order'. She's laid out some kind of mat on the lawn and Andrew wonders what she has planned.
WENDY: Just you wait.
Lassiter's Complex
Paul spots Penny Shrewster in the courtyard, the employee who was suspected of being responsible for locking Krista in the sauna. She's back from her holiday and Paul wants to know when she returned; Penny bluntly tells him it's none of his business as he's no longer her boss.
PAUL: I need to know your movements on the day that you were caught stealing from the hotel.
PENNY: Why?
PAUL: Krista was locked in the sauna room.
PENNY: Okay, I came to take what I was owed, not to harm anyone. And why would you think I did that to Krista?
PAUL: Because she fired you.
PENNY: Chelsea caught me pinching toiletries and kicked me out. I didn't go anywhere near the sauna.
Krista turns up, wanting to know what's going on. Paul tries to downplay the encounter, but an outraged Penny is quick to reveal what he's just accused her of to Krista - and categorically denies that she had anything to do with it.
PENNY: And you need to get your facts straight before you start accusing people.
Penny walks off, and Krista implores Paul to go after her, but he points out they have no evidence against her; he's only acting off Chelsea's suspicions. Krista says they should call the police, but Paul reminds her that the IT report was inconclusive, so the police won't be able to do anything. Krista's angry, though, that nobody told her Penny was a suspect.
PAUL: Chelsea wanted to keep you out of it. To protect you.
KRISTA: No, I don't need protecting. I need answers.
Krista walks off.

Wendy has changed into a dressing gown and leads Andrew towards the mat in the garden, where she's got some paint pots set up. She explains she's working on assignment about how art can be used as therapy, and vice versa - 'like a nexus between the two'.
ANDREW: I think you lost me at 'assignment', love.
WENDY: When you got injured, it really got me thinking about how much we take our bodies for granted, and how important it is to celebrate what they can do.
ANDREW: That sounds very interesting.
Stripping down to nightwear, she tells him they're going to use their 'beautiful bodies to make some art'. She leads him onto the mat.
WENDY: Are you ready to get dirty?
They laugh.

Krista is talking to Nicolette and Aaron about having learned that Penny may have locked her in the sauna. She hadn't wanted to involve her sister Reece but now feels like she has no other option but to tell her. Aaron agrees that Reece would want to know, and to help.
Krista's about to head home, but perhaps sensing a drugs binge coming on, Aaron asks if anyone else is there. Krista says not, but that she'll be fine.
AARON: Hey, how about I come hang for a bit?
Nicolette thinks that's a good idea, and Krista agrees. Krista and Aaron head off.
Ramsay Street
As they walk back to No 32, Krista tells Aaron that Mackenzie and Byron have gone out to a movie to take their minds off Haz, then apologises to Aaron for bringing Haz up, after the whole deepfake debacle.
AARON: It's fine. Hey - I'm here for you.
He suggests takeaway and a movie, and Krista agrees, but doesn't seem enthusiastic.
AARON: Hey - you need something stronger, don't you?
KRISTA: ...
AARON: It's fine. I don't blame you.
KRISTA: I just want to forget (...) Actually got something from a friend to help. It's okay, you can go if you want. I'll be fine.
AARON: No. I'm not going anywhere.

Andrew now has his shirt off and both he and Wendy are covered in paint, as they make colourful patterns with their fingers on the mat - or giant canvas, as is now apparent.
ANDREW: Am I doing this right?
WENDY: There's no right or wrong! Don't think so hard. You've just gotta... do.
She kisses him.
ANDREW: Is that a gold star from the teacher?
WENDY: You're a good man, Andrew Rodwell. What you're doing for JJ, it's really wonderful - just helping him develop his sense of self- worth.
ANDREW: It's not too much, is it?
WENDY: What, did Remi or Cara say something like that?
ANDREW: No, they just seem to be having a really tough time with it all. They're trying to force him to move on from Felix, rather than let him cope with it in his own way.
WENDY: Well, there's no real roadmap to navigate a situation like this.
ANDREW: I just hope that I'm helping, and not making things worse.
They make handprints next to one another.
WENDY: People are always stronger together, yeah?
ANDREW: You know, I wasn't so sure about all this when we started.
WENDY: And now?
ANDREW: Feels pretty good.
They kiss again, and it all gets a bit frisky. Before long we pan up from the mat and see garments being thrown in the air - only for Sadie to arrive home early and emerge from the back door. She looks suitably horrified!
The Waterhole
The Rodwells are having an awkward family dinner, with Wendy and Andrew all loved up and Sadie apparently still contemplating what she walked in on! Wendy spots some paint that's left over on Andrew's ear, and tries to wipe it off with a napkin.
ANDREW: Thank you.
WENDY: So cute!
ANDREW: Got it?
SADIE: Can you not?
WENDY: It's not like I'm ripping his shirt off!
SADIE: I mean, why not? You've got a whole audience.
ANDREW: Well, you know, this is karma, right? For me springing you with Byron.
SADIE: No, it's not. That's completely different. I mean, you two were like... further along.
WENDY: Look, I understand that it was confronting. But you're not a kid anymore, Sade, you know? Your dad and I, we have -
SADIE: No, stop. Please! Don't say anymore.
WENDY: No, I *will* say more. Our love is beautiful, and it is what brought you into this world.
ANDREW: Exactly.
SADIE: Just because I know what happens, doesn't mean I need to see it. Or talk about it. Or think about it.
But Wendy and Andrew still look amused.

JJ is helping Cara with dinner when Remi comes in, and tells them that JJ's lawyer just called - his diversion hearing has been set for next week. Cara asks how his boxing session was, and JJ says not bad. As he moves positions, Cara notices the unopened letter to Felix in his back pocket, and removes it.
CARA: You're still holding onto this? You know that Felix is not gonna see it?
JJ: Yeah, I know.
CARA: Maybe it's time to let it go. You know, ace the hearing, and this could be a chance for a fresh start.
But JJ looks annoyed.
REMI: We could do a little ceremony. Shred it? Or better yet, burn it.
CARA: It might just be a good way to move on from him.
But JJ snatches the letter back.
JJ: Stop trying to control my life.
REMI: No, no, that's not what this is. We're just worried about you. Hanging onto the letter is just a constant reminder of Felix, and you don't need that.
JJ: You don't know what I need. Just... just leave me alone.
JJ walks out, leaving Remi and Cara concerned.

Aaron and Krista are drinking (having probably already done some drugs) and doing some daggy dancing, as Aaron recounts to her a time that David dressed up in Cupid wings and hotpants.
AARON: I don't want to stop dancing. Ever.
Krista reminds him that Mackenzie and Byron will be home soon, and Aaron decides that they will 'kill the vibe', so suggests they go clubbing. Krista prepares some shots for the road, and Aaron recognises the glasses.
AARON: Hey, these are from the Waterhole!
KRISTA (laughs): Yeah, that's Holly. She nicks them. I've seen her do it (...) People steal stuff from the hotel all the time. Mostly just toiletries.
But this conversation causes Krista to flash back to the conversation between Penny and Paul that she interrupted earlier. She recalls that Penny said Chelsea caught her stealing toiletries, and kicked her out. She then remembers Paul talking about the 'inconclusive' IT report, and finding Jeffrey - the author of the report - in Chelsea's hotel room. The pieces of the jigsaw start to fall together...
KRISTA: Chelsea's the link!
Aaron, who is in the middle of pouring shots, looks confused as Krista walks out!
Lassiter's Hotel
Chelsea is alone in her room when Krista knocks at the door, demanding to speak to her.
KRISTA: You're the connection! Everything that happened that day with the sauna room, it all comes down to you!
CHELSEA: You look wired... Are you okay?
KRISTA: No, you made sure that you were the point person with the software company who was working on the error report...
CHELSEA: I'm across all of those things because of my role at the hotel.
KRISTA: And you're sleeping with the guy who delivered that report!
CHELSEA: That's my personal business. It has nothing to do with you.
KRISTA: What, you couldn't stand that I was succeeding? That Lucy was noticing me?! You... you're the one who said there were issues with the sauna room that day. You're the only one who knew I was in there! You locked me in so you could take over the meeting with the Lassiter's marketing team.
CHELSEA: You're high... and delusional.
KRISTA: No, don't try and spin this on me!
CHELSEA: I won't hold it against you. I get why you need it. I have done nothing but have your back since the accident.
KRISTA: What?!
CHELSEA: This is how you repay me?
KRISTA: You took my baby from me.
CHELSEA: ...
KRISTA: How could you do that? Paul needs to know who you really are.
Chelsea grabs Krista to try to stop her leaving...
KRISTA: Let go of me!
But as she tries to pull away from Chelsea, Krista falls and hits her head on the desk, before dropping to the floor, unconscious. Chelsea looks horrified...
