Erinsborough Hospital
Leo walks Elly out of the hospital and tries to convince her that Mark will still want the relationship even though there's no baby. But Elly's convinced the baby was the only thing keeping their marriage together. Elly adds that Amy was right when she said not to use the pregnancy as a tool to keep their relationship afloat. Now her marriage is surely doomed.
Number 32
Shane and Dipi pack boxes in the kitchen while the girls sit on the couch, playing on their phones. Kirsha thinks the move will be hard on Clancy since he doesn't like new things, but Yashvi's more worried about losing the spa. She also thinks they need to give the house a proper farewell by hosting a pool party. It doesn't take much to convince Shane and Dipi - they deserve something fun after the past few full-on weeks.
Erinsborough Hospital
Elly sits on a bench out the front with Leo, mulling over how she's going to break the news to Mark. Leo suggests that Elly could keep it secret for a while.
ELLY: What? Fake the pregnancy? I know I slept with my husband's sister, but that's as Jerry Springer as I get.
LEO: I'm not saying fake it long term. Just for a couple of weeks until your relationship's strong enough to deal with the blow.
ELLY: I can't do that to Mark. Besides, he's already lost one baby. I can't put him through that again. Especially when it doesn't even exist.
LEO: How about you take this non-existent baby and make it a real one? Go home and jump him, and if you get pregnant he'll be none the wiser.
ELLY: That is as bad as your first idea!
She adds that even if she went along with Leo's madness, the dates wouldn't match up anyway. The main thing is that Mark deserves the truth - even if it ends in the demise of their marriage.
The Handywoman
Gary strolls along with Sheila and murmurs that "the guy" will get in contact with him that afternoon. Sheila warns Gary that Paul's suss on him so he needs to be careful. They chat with Amy and Sheila gives her a packed lunch before heading off. Gary asks Amy about her work schedule on the premise of 'checking up' on how she's doing, but he's acting weird about knowing exactly when Amy will be out of the Handywoman yard. Amy then suggests they go to Shane and Dipi's pool party later on.
Terese's Office
Aaron and David pop in to try and convince Chloe to come to the pool party with them. But Chloe's content to bury herself in work, as she's a "vacuum for a good time" lately. The boys tell Chloe they care about her and can see she's in a bad way, so they know having some fun will do her good. But Chloe can't be convinced.
Number 24
Elly's surprised to find Mark at home but he says he has a quick break between his split shifts. Elly's commitment to the truth takes a nosedive when Mark acts considerately towards her, showing her the ginger tea he bought for nausea. She then realises that he's wearing his wedding ring again and her resolve to tell the truth crumbles further.
MARK: The baby made me realise what I really want. And it's not going to be easy but I really do want to get past everything that's happened. I can see a future for us, Elly.
Elly says she can too, but the look on her face suggests otherwise.
The Waterhole
Amy meets with Paul but is annoyed when she realises her dad's still trying to guilt her into staying on as project manager at Robinson Pines. He thinks having someone new in the role will damage business further, but Amy's adamant he needs a new hire. They barter for a while before Amy reluctantly agrees to stay on for another month to do a handover with the next manager. When Amy leaves, Sheila bustles over to clean the table - she's in a rush to get to the pool party.
PAUL: That's the one that Amy's rushing off to as well. Can't think why though. The idea of watching your son doing bellyflops in his speedos... sounds vomitous.
SHEILA: Gary's going to the party? But he's supposed to be...
Sheila shuts her trap quickly, but not quick enough as she's stirred Paul's intrigue. He wants to know exactly what messy deal Gary's up to now, but Sheila gives him the innocent act.
Number 32 Backyard
Yashvi overhears Aaron and David talking about furniture placement and tells them she wants to move in with them if they buy the house. Piper and Leo arrive and Yashvi asks if Terese is coming too.
PIPER: No she made plans with Imogen, the golden child.
YASHVI: Yeah right, well that's fair. Be a bit weird going from girlfriend to mother-in-law.
PIPER: No it's not like that at all, Leo and I are just hanging out.
YASHVI: Since when do you just do hanging out? (Leo and Piper look uncomfortable) I just mean, like, aren't you all about the grand romance? Fooling around with friends isn't really your thing.
PIPER: (tetchy) I'm trying something new, is that such a crime?
Aaron breaks the tension by getting Yashvi to pass around food to her guests, but David looks as though he might have some thoughts on the Piper/Leo debacle. Meanwhile, Dipi and Shane are in a frisky mood and decide to go inside and have some 'fun' while everyone's playing in the pool.
Number 24
Mark is going to join Elly for a quick swim at #32 before he goes back to work. When he sees Elly in her swimming costume he comments on how beautiful she looks, thinking it must be the baby glow. With Leo's words echoing in her mind, Elly tries to initiate something with Mark by kissing him. But Mark breaks away and apologises, saying he's not ready for intimacy just yet.
Number 32
Sheila's on the phone to Gary, chiding him for organising a meeting when he made plans with Amy. She advises him to get his butt there soon. Amy arrives just as Shane and Dipi emerge from the laundry, giggling. Yashvi calls them out on not helping her host, grossed out by her parents when they say they're going to check on a 'leaky tap' in the bathroom. She ropes in Sheila and Amy to help her hand out food.
While they're alone, David asks Leo for a quick word about Piper, which puts Leo on the defensive. David knows his brother wants to make Terese jealous, but using her own daughter's pretty wrong. Leo's adamant it has nothing to do with Terese, he just likes Piper and has a good time with her; end of story.
Number 32 Backyard
Aaron asks David if he spoke to his brother. David says that Leo believes everything's innocent with Piper, but he thinks the whole situation still feels weird. Mark and Elly arrive, and while Mark chats with the boys, Elly lets Leo know she hasn't told the truth yet. She also tells him that she ended up trying it on with Mark but he rebuffed her. Leo thinks she should wait at least a month before confessing, but Elly know it'll make things worse, especially since she went straight from the hospital to trying to proposition Mark. "If there was ever a chance he'd stay with me I've ruined it."
Harold's Café
Gary bumps into Paul and they do their using verbal sparring thing, but Gary's in a good mood and nothing will bring him down. Gary takes a phone call off to the side and asks the mysterious caller, "Did it come through?" He then tells the caller to stay right where they are and he'll be there in a sec. Nosy Paul decides to trail Gary when he leaves the café.
Number 32 Backyard
Yashvi rolls her eyes at Piper and Leo mucking around in the pool. David and Aaron talk more about the benefits of living in #32. Mark overhears them and asks if they're interested in buying. Aaron feels guilty because he doesn't want to leave Mark in the lurch with #24, but Mark offers to buy Aaron out. He calls Elly over and tells the boys that they're going to have a baby - which David and Aaron are delighted about. Mark's keen to have his own family home. They'll have to talk more tomorrow, though, because Mark's off to work again. Aaron and David ask Yashvi if they can look through the house but Yashvi advises them against it - saving them from walking in on her parents.
The Waterhole
Paul is being the least covert spy ever with his phone, filming Gary and the guy he's meeting from behind a lattice wall. Chloe sees Paul and is amused, but just goes on ahead with her conversation and asks for more work at the hotel. Paul's distracted and tells her to go the pool party instead, he's pretty sure Mark and Elly won't be there if that's all she's worried about. Paul keeps filming and thinks he's onto something dastardly with Gary, but becomes horrified when he realises the guy has sold Gary an engagement ring.
Number 32 Backyard
While no one's looking, Elly drinks the rest of someone's leftover alcohol in a cup. Shane and Dipi finally come back to the party and face Yashvi's wrath for leaving her to do all the hosting. But Shane thinks it's time for a nice group hug between all the Rebecchis and he's pleased they had a nice get together.
Elly sits by Leo poolside while Piper's off getting food. Leo sees Elly eyeing off his glass of wine and reminds her that mothers-to-be don't drink. But Elly's stress levels spike further when she sees Chloe arrive. Chloe isn't all that enthused to see Elly either, but Aaron and David promise her Mark isn't there. They also don't know she's already in the loop about the baby, so they're relieved when they think Chloe hasn't been told the news. They head inside and Elly takes the opportunity to chug all of Leo's wine.
Ramsay Street
Gary's on the phone to Sheila, letting her know he just needs to hide the ring, grab his swimmers and he'll be over. Now he knows Amy's work schedule he can give Yashvi a time to set up his surprise. "It's gonna be one ripper of a proposal!"
The Penthouse
Paul looks at a photo of Amy and then rifles through some paperwork until he finds the phone number he's after. When the person on the other end of his call answers, Paul smirks and says he bets they're surprised to hear from him. He then tells whoever it is that he has a proposition for them.
Ramsay Street
Leo thought he and Piper could leave early so they could play some croquet, but also because Leo knows Elly's quite tipsy. Elly's grumpy about being made to leave, but Leo tells Piper Elly has a headache and is going home to rest. But once Leo and Piper are out of sight, Elly calls for a cab and asks them to drive her to Back Lane Bar. She doesn't want to miss happy hour.
