- Terese seeing the drawing and wanting answers.
- Leo coming clean with Terese over his feelings.
Terese's office
"Is this some sort of practical joke?" Terese asks Leo as they both enter her office. Leo replies no and adds that she was never meant to find out. Not surprisingly, Terese needs a seat as Leo explains how his feelings for her developed - spending long days working together plus the efforts he went to matchmake her with Paul.
Paul interrupts their chat when he comes in wanting to discuss business with them both. Terese looks relieved although Leo wants his dad gone as he wants to talk more with Terese. Paul can sense something is up, but neither are talking as he takes Leo away to talk about The Shed with him.
Number 24
Aaron has taken to heart what Paul said to him, coupled with the fact that the figures he is looking at don't lie. David tries to reassure him that he's not as experienced a businessman as Paul is and now has "the chance to turn things around." Mark agrees with David as he goes to let a visitor into the house - Mishti. "Its nothing we can't fix," Aaron is quick to tell her but before he can do that, she tells him that Paul has made her an offer.
Lassiters foyer
Chloe is staring into space looking at a ticking clock, so Karl's arrival somewhat startles her. He is checking up on how she is doing (busy) and suggests she tells Terese who would be understanding as well as discreet. Chloe doesn't want that as it automatically triggers "the look" (a sympathetic one) on someone's face and right enough, Karl is doing just that!
CHLOE: I don't want to deal with nice people and their sympathy eyes.
KARL: I just want to help.
The lass decides she has had enough and goes to see Terese to take a sickie as she isn't well, afterall it "isn't exactly a lie is it?"
Terese's office
Ned arrives and Terese immediately apologises for what she said to him and admits that she is astonished at Leo partially as she is so different from the type that he normally dates. When Ned sums up the criteria, he describes her as Leo's "perfect woman."
TERESE: I've never thought of him that way before. At all. I mean its totally inappropriate. I'm his boss, he's Paul's son.
NED: It doesn't mean that things can't change in the future.
Ned thinks that there are worse people who could have a crush on her, which causes Terese to admit that its at least "flattering" that is until she does the maths then declares it "horrendously awkward!" Terese isn't sure if it means the end of their working relationship too after Ned enquires.
Number 24
At the impromptu business meeting, Aaron pleads with Mishti that he can turn things around. Initially she'd told him that she wasn't going to sell out to Paul but the more they have chatted; her mind seems to have changed too - she doesn't have the time to keep a proper eye on The Shed and could be done with the money for other investments.
AARON: So that's it, you're out?
MISHTI: Look, as your friend I don't want to be, but as a business person yes, I have to say yes.
The Waterhole
After organising to go out with Amy, Chloe manages to sneak out of the pub without the newly arrived Leo or Ned spotting her.
Leo wants to know if Terese is going to tell Paul (in case there are ramifications) but as Ned points out, they haven't hooked up, so she probably just wants to forget about it. He is still after answers, but Ned can't provide them although perhaps he might now - he's been summoned by text to see Terese after her current meeting has finished.
Penthouse suite
David isn't too happy at how his dad had done things over offering to buy Mishti out.
PAUL: Look, my methods may seem unorthodox, but I want to sort Aaron out just the same as I sorted out Leo with Terese and Amy with Robinson Heights and now you with the surgical training.
DAVID: So what, Aaron's your next pet project?
PAUL: Got to have something to keep me entertained!
That reply doesn't go down well with David, so Paul explains a bit more - Aaron is about to join their family, and this was the next best thing since he isn't being allowed to pay for the wedding. David mellows to letting his dad help as long as he promises not to muck Aaron around.
PAUL: Look, by helping shore up Aaron's future, I'm also shoring up yours.
Paul also admits that there is another reason too - making things up to him after being absent in his life.
Backpackers
Chloe and Amy open up the hard stuff while waiting for an acquaintance of Amy's (Danielle) to arrive. Amy gets a picture text from Dr Rob but is still in two minds whether to go on a date with him or not.
CHLOE: Stop thinking so much, life is short and it's better to regret the things you have done than the things you haven't.
Danielle rocks up and Amy does the intros. Instead of moving on (since they've 2 bottles of spirits) they decide to stay put and play a game to help get acquainted - spill it or swill it (either reveal the answer to a question or drink the shot if you don't want to tell the truth).
DANIELLE: I can already tell this is going to be dangerous!
CHLOE: You have no idea.
Terese's office
Leo is hesitant about going into the office and is surprised to see his dad also present when he plucks up the courage to enter. "I wanted to talk to you both," Terese explains and announces that she is ending her mentorship of Leo at Lassiters. "I thought things were going well," a confused Paul remarks and Terese confirms that they have been - her work is done, she doesn't think there is anything more Leo can learn from her.
LEO: If that's how you feel, I respect your decision and I've really valued the experience.
Paul is still looking utterly confused and now thinks his son is being punished for his role in the matchmaking. "Of course, that's what you'd think," Terese is quick to reply, adding that "its all about you isn't it!" "It's the right call dad," Leo interjects with and adds that its time to put all he has learnt into practice - refocusing on the backpackers and continuing to be his head of his business affairs. Somewhat reluctantly, Paul buys what has been said as Leo then sincerely thanks Terese for the time he has given her. "I'm aware of that Leo," is her reply setting off Paul's curiosity!
Backpackers
The drink and the questions are flowing among the ladies! Chloe asks Danielle if she's ever kissed a woman and the reply is "more like have I ever kissed a man," and the words are barely out of her mouth when Chloe leans over and pashes her! "I've been wanting to do that all afternoon," Chloe informs Danielle before Amy gets the next question - has she stolen anything! "Someone's heart," is Amy's initial reply, which isn't acceptable so chooses to swallow the shot to "neither confirm nor deny!"
The ladies aren't exactly happy at Amy's non-committal answers and Danielle suggest they re-enact a heist she did in Auckland. "We're not pinching anything," Amy stands firm with but when the lassies show no sign of giving up on their quest, Amy declares she's had enough and goes to head home citing that she has work in the morning.
Number 24
"Please tell me you talked him out of it?" Aaron asks when David walks in the door. "He thinks it's a good call," is David's reply and adds that Paul does know what he is doing when it comes to business.
AARON: Well that's a really nice way of saying he's good at screwing people over. And I'm sorry but you know his track record.
David tries to explain Paul's rationale (that he's joining the family) and thus thinks it's a good idea. Aaron thinks it isn't a good idea and wants time to find someone else to buy Mishti out. "How are you going to find someone who wants to buy into a failing business?" David asks, and Aaron pleads that they aren't "down the tubes yet." David points out the obvious - that they are on their way to being there and, without being pragmatic, thinks Paul's offer is the best he is going to get.
The Waterhole
Aaron arrives to meet up Paul and Mishti and begins by telling her that he's okay if she wants to sell her share. Mishti is sure The Shed has potential, he just needs some help. Paul promises to only step in when its required, once The Shed is back up and running in a better way, as he is too busy a businessman to micromanage it.
Terese's office
Leo drops by to tell Terese that he is sorry for how the amazing opportunity fell apart and more importantly, to thank her for not telling Paul. "Its not my intention to punish you," she replies especially with his good business mind but thinks it was the best decision for them both.
TERESE: You need to move on from the way you are feeling. Seeing me every day it's obviously not going to help.
LEO: Can't you see, this is part of the problem. Terese, you're so crazy smart and in control but you're so nice as well and that's why I fell for you in the first place.
Leo agrees with her when she says that "this is where the conversation ends," but adds that it wasn't him overstepping the line, he just wanted her to know.
Lassiter foyer
Before she can escape to go home, Paul collars Terese to see if she will change her mind about mentoring Leo, he thinks the lad can still learn more from her. Thinking it's them, he asks for their history "not to get in the way of anything." "I'm not Paul," is her immediate reply and looks almost disgusted that he asked the question too!
Paul then surprises her by saying that he's bought into The Shed thanks to David's efforts, so she won't be seeing too much of him around.
TERESE: It's not the first time you've used one of your boys to do your dirty work.
Her saying that, suggests to Paul that there is a reason behind cancelling Leo's mentorship. As a sort of compromise, he asks that she could at least an eye on Leo, but she doesn't reply and instead heads out of the hotel.
Erinsborough Greenway
Chloe and Danielle walk through the Greenway, wondering where they can put the Ramsay Street sign! After ruling out the complex, because Chloe works there, Fed Square is suggested, and they head for Chloe's car to go take a wee trip!
Ramsay Street (next day)
Karl and Mark make small talk about Susan's visit to Liz as they head down the street (Karl is about to go on a bike ride). When they get to the bottom, Mark notices that he street sign is missing. "Not again," Karl remarks and Mark wonders who'd go to the effort of pilfering it.
KARL: Mindless drunken hooligans. That's who!
Backpackers
Chloe and Danielle are trying to get the Ramsay Street sign into the back of the car when they hear a siren going off. "We're so busted," Danielle comments before doing a runner and leaving Chloe to take the flack because she doesn't want to be deported back to New Zealand! Chloe tries to do a runner too after dumping the sign on the ground but its too late, the cops have arrived, and our resident cop announces (without seeing who is driving) that they're nicked. It's only when Mishti fully opens the door that she realises who is involved!
