Previously on Neighbours
Andrew v Harry for Summer's hand.
Summer introducing Harry to Renee.
Renee breaking it off with Harry.
Andrew presenting Paul with "his" proposal for Neighbours Day.
Declan annoyed that Andrew stole his proposal.
Andrew winding Declan up that he's the errand boy.
Paul making it clear that Andrew isn't moving out.
Donna surprised that Kate hasn't had a boyfriend previously.
Declan (and Indy) wanting to move into #24.
Number 22
Paul and Andrew are discussing Neighbours Day when a very miffed Rebecca comes downstairs. She's peeved at Paul not trying to persuade Declan to stay. "I feel terrible" Andrew pipes up but he doesn't exactly sound it. Paul asks Andrew to give him a minute so he can talk to Rebecca but she departs to head to #24 so she can bring Declan and India home.
Number 24
Harry and Sophie are keen to see how long their new housemates are staying for and Declan replies a couple of days. Sophie wants to know why [he's there] but Harry is already putting 2+2 together and thinks that Declan is moving in to be with Kate. The sleeping arrangements get brought up and it's quickly decided amongst the siblings that Declan can have Lou's room.
There is a knock at the door and Declan immediately knows who it is and is proved right when he answers the door to Rebecca.
Number 22
Paul and Andrew are still discussing Neighbours Day and he makes it clear to his son that he is responsible for everything... then points out that the figures aren't adding up!
Number 24
Rebecca apologises to her son and the Ramsay's decide to leave them to chat in private. She tells Declan that he's only going to be here overnight then he is coming home until Declan replies that Paul made it clear that it isn't his home.
REBECCA: You're my son, India is my granddaughter, it's so your home. I'm not going to let Andrew force you out of it.
He reminds her that living with Andrew makes him look like an idiot, so its better he moves out. Tearfully she replies that it isn't better for her. Mother and son share a hug when he is adamant that he isn't coming home.
Number 22
Paul is telling Andrew that he'll wish he was back in Sydney if he stuffs it up then in the next breath praises Andrew for stealing Declan's idea!
PAUL: So that's my dilemma. Do I punish you and throw you out because you stole somebody else's idea and lied to me or do I reward you because you're actually doing a good job and you may just pull it off?
ANDREW: Which one is it?
PAUL: (pause) Hmm. One more thing though, I'm married to Rebecca and Declan is her son. You mess with my marriage and you are gone. Understood?
ANDREW: Understood.
(Later)
Paul is on the phone to Elle, trying to arrange meeting up in New York when Rebecca comes home. She isn't amused that Paul is still planning on going to NY although he tries to reply that he'd rather not go but isn't being given any option.
PAUL: What do you want me to do?
REBECCA: I want you to go over there and stop my son from moving away because that is what he is planning to do.
Paul seems stunned at hearing Declan is moving and disagrees with Rebecca over how they support Declan (she wants him home but Paul doesn't think that is necessary).
Number 26
Toadie and Callum are moving the last of Steph's belongings over to #30 and run into Andrew on the way out. He then heads into the kitchen (Toadie told him where Summer was) and walks in on Summer giving Harry a hug.
Sum is about to explain the reason for the hug but its old news to Andrew thanks to the power of the internet. That earns Harry a second hug and it's his turn to have the smug smirk on his face! He really pushes for the sympathy factor too when he tells Summer that they have Declan living with them now thanks to Andrew.
Number 24 (middle of the night)
"Did I cry like this when I was a baby?" Sophie asks Harry when they are woken up by Indy crying. Kate joins them in the kitchen and the siblings want to know how long Declan is going to be living there.
Shirtless Declan comes out to apologise for Indy crying and Sophie makes it clear that the living arrangements will change when Lou gets back... by Declan moving into Kate's room!
Harold's Store (next day)
Declan is having no joy flat hunting while Rebecca and Kate chat over coffee.
Its daggers at 50 paces from Declan when he spots Andrew (Summer and Harry) walking into the store. Harry is still after sympathy and Summer is falling for it hook, line and sinker much to Andrew's annoyance! Andrew then ropes them into helping with Neighbours Day preparations (making up gift bags) when she was about to go take Harry's mind off his break up with some retail therapy.
Conveniently, it's time for Kate's shift to start when Paul enters the store wanting to talk to Declan. Declan stops him in his tracks to say that he will only talk to Paul if it's about work related topics... just so they can keep things professional. Paul does then give him work related jobs before departing and tells Declan to make his coffee take away!
Rebecca tries to tell her son that Paul was trying, but he isn't listening and tells her that he needs to get to work.
REBECCA: Declan he's family.
DECLAN: No... he's not.
And today's archive picture is from the 1994 season finale where Mark Gottlieb jilts Annalise Hartman (Episode 2290 in the archive if you wish to read the summary)
Lassiters Foyer
Andrew dishes out the instructions to Summer and Harry on filling the gift bags when Lassiters employee Lisa arrives. She wants to help with the bags too but Andrew puts her on desk duty even when she points out that she's never done that before!
Sum moves away to take a call and Andrew tries to tell his cousin that the sympathy will wear off but Harry gets his own back when he brings up about Andrew being a liar.
Declan arrives as instructed wanting to check the Neighbours Day food arrangements with Andrew but is left to sort it out when it turns out Andrew hasn't done anything about it.
Harold's Store
Sophie is telling Callum about their new housemates and he is relieved not to be sharing his home with a screaming baby!
SOPHIE: It's not permanent.
CALLUM: If there's a toothbrush in your bathroom the dude has moved in.
Callum wants to know what Sophie's reward is for Declan moving in (telling her about the footy tickets Steph bought him). "If you play your cards right, you could be on a winner," he tells her.
Annoyed Declan comes in to discuss the food order with Kate and you can see his mood lightening when she drags him into the kitchen to give him a much needed hug and his face even breaks out in a smile when she gives him a kiss too!
Kate stops the pash session Declan is trying to have, reminding him that she has a shift to do. He says that the one good thing in all this mess is moving in with her. Mmm perhaps Kate doesn't feel the same as she tries to avoid eye contact with him after he has said that.
Lassiters Foyer
Declan's mood has returned when he spots a banner advertising Neighbours Day upon his return from the store. He reports into Andrew before leaving to do his own work.
Meanwhile an angry patron is having a go at Lisa for, in his opinion, stuffing things up. Summer interrupts them to tell Mr Angry off for his attitude. Andrew arrives and tries to see what the problem is and Mr Angry moans to him about Summer, which causes her to rant off at him even more! Andrew orders her back to working on the bags, curtailing any response she tries to make on the subject and takes Mr Angry away to sort out the mess to his satisfaction.
Number 22
Rebecca is still peeved at Paul - she closes the laptop even though he's busy working away. Paul points out that he tried to sort it out but Declan is doing the silent treatment on them because his pride has been hurt. "And you've never done that before?!" she points out to him!
REBECCA: That boy, your stepson, thinks that you rejected him.
PAUL: Oh come on, that's just being mellow dramatic.
That just doesn't go down well with Rebecca and in turn she reminds Paul that Andrew knows how to play him.
PAUL: Hey, nobody plays me.
REBECCA: Oh wake up Paul. Surely you can see what he is up to? Listen, I may be 'mellow dramatic' but I don't lie and I don't play games and neither does Declan.
PAUL: I know.
That took the wind out of Rebecca's sails but it doesn't stop her telling Paul he needs to do something about it.
REBECCA: Paul, I know you love him, I just think he needs to be reminded of that.
PAUL: And Andrew?
REBECCA: I will give Andrew every chance but this is our family and you are not getting on that plane until you sort this out.
PAUL: Is that a threat?
REBECCA: Yes! Deal with it!
Lassiters Complex
Declan and Paul run into each other in the complex. Paul ignores Declan's 'work only chat' rule to speak to him but Declan walks off when Paul confirms that he isn't throwing Andrew out of the house because he is his son.
PAUL: He's my son but that's no recommendation. Hey come on that boy is a train wreck and if he's not now he soon will be and that's down to me, my genetics or my lack of interest. Now your dad was a mongrel but at least you had Rebecca there for you. Andrew didn't have me around, so if it looks like I was choosing him over you that's why.
DECLAN: He won't share you with me. What am I supposed to do?
Paul can't answer him, so Declan leaves to resume working.
Harold's Store
Summer is very annoyed at Andrew for taking Mr Angry's side as they enter the store. Harry is firmly aligned with Summer too and she's decided that they are going shopping after all!
Realising that Harry's going to be getting close to Summer, Andrew stops them and asks if he emails Mr Angry to put him back in his place, will that make her happy? This convinces Summer and the trio sit at a table and Andrew reads to them what he is writing... and in block caps too - he's angry!
Dear Sir
We no longer want your business. We at Lassiters believe in treating people with dignity and respect and it's clear that you do neither. Consider your accounts terminated.
Sum suggests putting it in bold and he does that before sending it off to Mr Angry! "And you're forgiven" she tells him and Harry looks on sick as a dog while Andrew's smirk is back!
Number 24
Rebecca drops off even more of Indy's stuff and the livingroom is literally full of her things! "Don't worry, I'll try and keep it down to a few truck loads," jokes Rebecca when Kate is looking around the room wondering where everything is going to go.
Rebecca picks up on Kate's silence and she explains that she feels sorry for Declan in this whole mess. In turn, Rebecca praises her for standing by Declan. "You're a gem Kate Ramsay," gushes Rebecca before the ladies get their wires crossed when Rebecca said (meaning Indy) that she hopes Kate isn't kept up all night. However Kate lets it be known that Declan isn't in her room, but in Lou's.
Number 22
Andrew, Summer and Harry enter the house satisfied at their day's work. However Andrew's day goes from good to horrendously bad when he checks his emails and discovers that instead of just sending the email to Mr Angry, he's actually sent it to every Lassiters customer. Oops!
And even bigger oops, Paul has returned home and guesses instantly something is up given the stunned look on the teens faces! Summer covers well and scores them all free dinner at Charlie's (she wanted them to have some sort of reward for filling the bags) before he leaves.
HARRY: So what are you going to do?
ANDREW: I'm stuffed.
Number 24
Andrew is round seeking Declan's help. He wants to know why he is asking him and Andrew replies that he's got nobody left to ask. "Talk to Paul" is Declan's advice but Andrew doesn't want to because he fears being disowned!
Declan walks off and Andrew immediately goes after him, to secure his help but all Declan does is open the door for him.
ANDREW: Look I'm practically begging you here.
DECLAN: ...
ANDREW: Okay I'm literally begging you.
DECLAN: I work for Paul. Talk to him and he can tell me what to do.
ANDREW: (getting desperate) Please.
DECLAN: (beginning to enjoy seeing Andrew sweat) I am not your errand boy. Talk to Paul.
Tomorrow on Neighbours
Paul praising his son... and Declan dropping it in that there is a problem.
Andrew enlisting Summer's help then Harry's.
A Lassiters customer wanting to know what Paul meant by his email, which of course is news to him.
Paul letting rip at Andrew!
Lucas buying Steph and Toadie a drink... but Toadie rejecting it.
Sonya annoyed at Lucas continuing to play games with Toadie.
