Number 30
Callum comes into the living room as Toadie tries to pull himself together and wipe away any stray tears. He asks if Sonya was just there and if she was crying because of Lucas. Toadie says that she's just been missing Rocky, but she's fine and to go back to bed.
Number 24
Kate has cooked Harry a big fry up in preparation for the team trials. Declan and Donna drop by to wish him luck for the try- outs.
HARRY: Did Kate put you up to this? Drop by and make Harry feel ok about failing would you Declan?
KATE: No. He just...came over because he's a really nice guy.
DECLAN: Don't flatter yourself mate, I'm dropping over to see everyone who's trying out. It's only fair.
Andrew arrives to hurry Harry along and things get awkward when he realises Donna is there. Donna leaves.
Erinsborough High
Summer sees Harry putting his tatty old trainers into his locker and quips that she didn't know he was into vintage gear. He explains that he's trying out for the basket ball team. Summer wishes him luck and Griffo comes over to tell her she should go and watch they could do with some encouragement in the form of pom- pom shaking (Lord! Don't tell Karl and Susan!). Harry tells Griffo to back off and leave her alone.
GRIFFO: If she's not up for it, how about your sister? With all that dancing, bet she could pump the boys up a bit?
HARRY: Dude this is try- outs. We don't need cheerleaders.
GIFFO: We do since I'm on the team. Doofus.
HARRY: Yeah, in your dreams.
GRIFFO: I'm in. Good luck at the try- outs. Hey, we could put you in a skirt, tie your hair up. You've got a better chance of being a cheerleader than making the team.
Harold's Store
Libby hugs Sonya and promises they should catch up for coffee sometime.
LIBBY: I collapsed on ya, you took me to the hospital. We're friends forever!
Sonya joins Lucas and they discuss awkward sympathy. Lucas reminds Sonya that Libby will be in Steph's camp. Neither of them saw this coming and Lucas doesn't think any of it makes any sense. Callum comes in and buys Sonya a cupcake. He tells her that she can hang with him and Rocky anytime. Sonya thinks that he should probably run that by Toadie, but Cal thinks it's cool. Sonya thinks it's best if she and Toadie keep their distance for a bit.
CALLUM: But I thought you two were friends.
SONYA: When you break up with someone it's easier just to give them a bit of space for a while.
CALLUM: But Dad said you were fine with him and Steph. Besides, you've had heaps of time for space.
SONYA: One night is not heaps of time.
CALLUM: One night? He told you ages ago...
SONYA: That's what he said?
CALLUM: He didn't?
Number 30
Callum bursts in and demands to know whether Toadie lied to him. He tells him that he saw Sonya who said they only broke up last night. Callum reads into Toadie's sigh that he did lie. He didn't break up with her ages ago and she was upset! Toadie tells him it's complicated.
CALLUM: You keep on saying that!
TOADIE: Well there's a lot more to this than what you'll understand.
CALLUM: And you're not going to tell me?!
TOADIE: No I'm not because it's adult stuff so just leave it at that will you?
CALLUM: Well I might be a kid, but at least I'm not a liar.
Erinsborough High
Paul swings by the school to drop off some Pirate Net posters and to give Harry a new pair of trainers. Harry is dead impressed and thanks Paul. Paul leaves and the basket ball coach comes to have a snoop at the shoes. The coach has heard about him and he's expecting big things. No pressure then Harry.
Things are just starting off at the try- outs and Harry has a cheer squad of Kate, Andrew, Declan and Paul (who tells the person he's on the phone to that he's going into a meeting. It's quite a cute "dad" kind of moment.) Harry is doing well and keeps scoring basket after basket, much to Griffo's displeasure. The coach tells Griffo that nobody in the team can assume they're safe. Three guys get through to the next stage of the try- outs and Harry is one of them. Hoorah.
Back by the lockers Andrew congratulates Harry, who admits he's still feeling sick with nerves. Andrew advises him to imagine everyone in their daggiest PJs. Harry starts to visualise and it's going well until he spots a glowing Summer (literally, with the same effect Taylah and Sunny got). Summer congratulates Harry also, and Andrew smirks, hatching a plan. Griffo and his gang pass by and tell Harry not to turn up to the next stage of try- outs.
Later, Andrew is chatting up some girls in the yard when Harry comes limping past. He tells Andrew that it's the ligaments, it's bad and it's happened before. He won't be able to play basket ball this afternoon, it takes weeks to heal.
Harold's
Kate and Declan are discussing Donna and how she's still hiding away from everyone, while Andrew and Harry discuss Harry's missing ligaments.
ANDREW: If they're gone, maybe you should go and see a proper doctor.
HARRY: It's not that bad.
ANDREW: You never know, you might need surgery or a whole joint replacement. Look, it's not your ligaments that have gone. It's your nerves. Griffo is an idiot. Do not let him blow this opportunity for you.
Harry limps off home and Andrew joins Summer who can see Harry is faking it too. Andrew knows that Harry could make the team and tells Summer he's not going to let him give up.
Charlie's
Toadie tells Libby about his fall out with Callum and that he's thinking of dropping the complaint against Lucas. He needs the karma points. Libby thinks that it would be good, considering Lucas' court case is coming up next week. They suddenly catch sight of Lucas consoling Sonya over on the other side of the bar. Toadie looks gutted and then feels awkward knowing that they're talking about him. Lucas and Sonya leave.
Number 30
Callum is packing his bags. He's decided to go and stay with the Kennedys because they talk about stuff and don't lie. He's clearly not talking about the Kennedys at number 28! He doesn't see the point in talking because Toadie didn't want to talk before. He wishes Toadie had stayed away.
Number 28
Toadie calls around to see Callum who is about to go and play cricket with Ben. Libby sends Ben outside and Toadie apologises to Callum for lying.
CALLUM: You know, since you've been back everyone seems to be mad or upset.
Toadie tries to explain that sometimes you have to make decisions that are going to hurt people you care about, but you've got to do it. Callum doesn't think it's very fair and thinks it'd be best if he just stays a kid.
TOADIE: I hear ya.
Libby steps in and explains that Toadie really hates hurting people's feelings. Sonya is upset, but Toadie is even more upset for hurting her.
TOADIE: Squid, you are the most important thing to me. I need you to be on my side. Please.
Oo Toad, given what you're actually doing, that's really not fair.
Charlie's
Toadie has ordered chips and ice cream, but Callum doesn't want his bribes. Toadie wonders what he can do to make things up and Cal just wants him to talk about stuff. Big stuff, no more surprises. They cut a deal and Callum gets a lemonade too. Lucas and Sonya come in and see Toadie, but decide to stay even though Sonya is upset.
Number 22
Paul comes home to pick something up and finds Donna hiding in the kitchen. He tells her not to eat plastic cheese and offers her some of his bree and even gets the ketchup out for her. Donna sheepishly turns down his offer because it's not the imported stuff! He promises to pick up some of the nice stuff and tells her that it will get better.
Clearly he spoke too soon though because as he leaves Andrew arrives. Donna has nothing to say to him, she realises it was just a game for him, but it wasn't for her.
DONNA: You know I actually feel sorry for you, because even if someone was dumb enough to care about you, you'd stuff it up, because deep down you know you're not worthy of it.
Later Summer calls over to find a rather downcast Andrew. She's ready to help with operation get Harry on the team. There's a knock on the door. Summer scoots upstairs as Harry limps in. Andrew wants some help with physics homework and has a different idea of what it is to Summer. Harry's is interested to know that Summer is there. Andrew tells him she's looking after India. Just then, Summer calls from upstairs and suddenly India's pram starts rolling down the stairs. With lightning reflexes Harry leaps to rescue India, who looks remarkably like a big teddy bear! He's been had. Summer tells him to ditch the limp, he's going to show Griffo that he can do this and she and Andrew are going to be cheering for him.
Basket Ball Court
Griffo is marking Harry and, in my non- expert opinion is way overcrowding him. Harry shoots and Griffo elbows him hard in the ribs. The coach gives Harry free throws and tells Griffo that if he pulls a stunt like that in a game he'll get pulled. Harry shoots and scores. Shoots and misses (but it bounces nicely off Griffo's head). Griffo sneers and Summer wonders who showed Griffo to throw, his nana? The coach sends Andrew and Summer out and Griffo wonders how Harry will do without his cheer squad.
