Ramsay Street
Paul and Rebecca return home from their weekend away, both having had a great time. Elle sees them but waits until Rebecca is away before checking Paul's car out (for damage) and wondering why he suddenly went away but Paul is quite evasive in his answer. She then comes straight out with it and asks where he was the morning before he left and he replies with the accountant and isn't please at having to explain his moves to her.
Number 28
Sunny is like a lovesick teenager as she eats breakfast with Zeke just as bad watching her! Karl spots them and orders Zeke to go put some clothes on (he just has PJ bottoms on) saying it isn't appropriate going around like he is... and Zeke returns dressed as if he is off for a skiing trip!
KARL: (unimpressed) Now that's just silly.
School
Donna hands out the new scripts to Sunny and Didge and Sunny is rather disappointed to see that the kissing scene has been cut. The girls click that she hasn't kissed Zeke yet and Sunny begins to wonder if it will ever happen and if in the meantime Zeke has lost interest in her!
Harold's Store
Donna collars Zeke to tell him she is there to intervene on behalf of Sunny but Zeke explains that he's taking it slow because of Karl. She tells him to do something to show that he is still keen on her and Declan pipes up to suggest asking her out on a date.
ZEKE: Like I need dating advice from Mr Practically Married With Kids.
Dec takes offence at that and walks out, telling Zeke he's on his own. Meantime, he explains that Karl has banned them from going on dates but she again tells him that he needs to do something. "Some relationships are just right" and "they deserve a chance" she wistfully tells him. Zeke has picked up on it and wonders if it's him and Sunny she is referring to and quietly Donna replies "yes" but her face tells a different story.
Hospital
Elle tells Lucas briefly about her chat with Paul as they make their way to see Jill. Nurse Jodie initially won't tell them anything but does when Elle says that it's her aunt she does - Jill is on the critical list and was brought to the hospital for specialist care after a hit and run. The camera then pans to see Jill's two other children (older boy and a younger girl) watching their mother lying unconscious in the hospital bed surrounded by doctors and medical equipment.
Elle goes over to see how they are doing and if they need anything but they don't appreciate the intrusion and Lucas decides its time for the two of them to leave. Elle vetoes going home, as Lucas suggests, to go and see if Paul's story checks out with the accountant.
Number 28
Karl arrives home to what he thinks is Sunny and Zeke arguing to find out it was just them actually rehearsing for the play. He isn't impressed at them being home alone during the day but is when Zeke shows him a rota he's drawn up for using the bathroom. As Karl looks over it, we see a message written on the back - Lets turn this nothing into a something? A date? Pick you up at five?
Charlie's
Rebecca spots Elle about to write a card but Elle doesn't expand on who it's for, just "someone who's sick" before she's invited to dinner at the Parkers with Declan. Elle agrees to think about it and Rebecca leaves just as Paul arrives to chat to his daughter.
Elle wastes no time in telling him that Jill Ramsay is in critical condition at hospital thanks to a hit and run and bluntly asks him where he was. Paul again says with the accountant but Elle's checked up and he wasn't. She then reveals that she saw him leave Jill's house and wants to know why he was there. "Was she after your inheritance?" she enquires before asking him where he was when Jill was knocked down. After a bit of a pause, Paul admits he was there - he followed and found her before she ran into the road after they argued.
PAUL: Elle I swear, I did not run her over.
Elle doesn't believe him because she did some digging and there was a man at the scene who called the ambulance and Paul confirms that was him. "And then you ran away" she scoffs before asking him why she should believe him. "Because it's the truth" he replies and adds that is all he has - she either believes him or she doesn't.
Number 22
Elle is trying her hardest to try and disbelieve that her father was responsible for Jill's hit and run but Lucas reminds her of Paul's past and has he really changed especially when money/his whole livelihood is at risk? "What should I do" she asks him and he replies that she needs to tell the police. "He's my father" she reminds him but Lucas reminds her that 3 kids may now lose their mother thanks to Paul running Jill down with his car.
Charlie's
Elle arrives to try and chat with Rebecca but after a delivery man brings her flowers (from Paul), Rebecca is so in love (with Paul) that Elle can't bring herself to chat about what she really wanted to and departs from the bar.
Harold's Store
Donna leaves a message on Elle's voicemail asking if they want to hang out since she is finished school for the day. Didge and Sunny arrive with news of Sunny's date with Zeke. Later, Donna rues wilfully that "romance must be in the air" after Declan arrives to whisk Didge off for a date by the lake after giving her bunch of flowers and chocolate. (Jeez Interflora must have been busy today!)
Lassiters Lake
Didge likes Declan's surprise as they lie on a picnic rug eating the choccies. Both admit that whilst they're scared at impending parenthood, they are looking forward to Tadpole's arrival.
Erinsborough News
Paul spots Lucas snooping around the offices and invites him in for a chat but soon changes his mind when Lucas asks when he is going to stop lying to Elle. Lucas makes it clear to Paul that unlike Elle, he isn't loyal enough to prevent him from going to the police.
PAUL: You know what Lucas, you're right. Yes, Elle is loyal so just how do you think you're going to come off when you're the one that turns in her beloved dad?
LUCAS: ...
PAUL: Yes second best, that's my tip.
Number 28
Sunny sits at the table, getting ready for their date, a bit concerned that all Zeke is doing is watching the TV. Eventually he gets up and heads through to the bedrooms which puzzles her even more and she takes her frustrations (or at least I hope that's what it was) when she shouts at the noisy Dahl in Korean.
Her frustration finally ends though when there is a knock at the door - its Zeke (complete with a bunch of flowers in his hands) asking if she is still on for their date and she jokingly moans at him for being late... a few seconds late! She wonders where they are going and Zeke explains that going out isn't on (it's against Karl's rules) so instead they have a date at home - he cooks them something to eat (popcorn chicken?) which they then feed to each other before playing computer games. Aww, modern love!
Hospital
Jeez Interflora definitely has been busy as now Elle sits with a bunch of flowers in her hands, deliberating whether to call the police or not about Paul.
Harold's Store
Donna finds Elle in the kitchen hoping to hang out with her and wondering why Elle's been ignoring her calls. "I've been busy" is her reply and follows that up with a "not now" when Donna starts rabbiting on. Donna looks gutted to have been ignored as she exits the kitchen. Meanwhile, Elle calls Paul asking to meet him.
Hospital
Elle is back at the hospital??? but arrives just as the medics are rushing into Jill's room because she's arrested. She asks Katie what is going on but she doesn't know and takes her frustrations out on her siblings when they return early from the café (they didn't have enough money).
The youngest (Sophie) asks what is going on, "nothing" Katie replies but Sophie isn't daft - she wants to know why the door is closed. Harry, having now got more money, drags his sister away and she wants to know who that other woman (Elle) is and comments that she thinks Elle is a witch! "I think you're right" is his reply.
Karl comes out of Jill's room and tells Kate that her mother has died.
