Scarlet Bar
Emotionally distraught, David begs Lil not to leave their marriage, their life. "This is about us, we're meant to be together." In front of Serena, Harold and a bunch of strangers...Lil stubbornly tells David no, she doesn't want to feel like this anymore. In absolute tears he collapses and with the help of Harold and Serena, they make their way out leaving Lil behind.

Janae is so busy fooling around with Mike that she doesn't notice it's time to go to class. Dylan points this out (well, tells her to go away) and promptly sits down next to Mike when she leaves. Paul's class about statistical graphs (eww) is about to begin, but we're missing one Stingray...until he comes barrelling in late. Paul beckons him over and before Stingray can yelp, Paul discreetly mentions the public fight David and Lil had. He thinks it'd be a good idea for Stinger to take an "endorsed truancy" ie. have a mate take care of her right now.
Outside Scarlet Bar
David is on a lone bench, when Lil quietly comes over. They talk briefly...David thinks Lil will want to get a divorce right now? She doesn't know...but wants to get the "practicalities and legalities" of telling their friends and so forth over. He wants to know how she can just "neatly file it away" but Lil didn't mean it like that. She's been tearing herself about this for months...even though they've been through patches it's just how she feels inside and won't deny it any longer. She wants to talk about it, but David refuses too. He walks off and Lil sits there crying.

Ah, mathematics. Paul is going over bell curves and normal distribution with the writing of equations on the board...all is lost on Dylan though as he just sits and stares at Mike, trying to psych him out. Mike gets tired of it and asks him to drop it (which gets him into trouble for talking) but Dylan doesn't stop. So, he makes big brother mad. "It's not like you have need do a lot to get her to do what you want anyway." Of course they tussle and have a bit of a fight in class until Paul breaks it up.

Serena greets Stingray who immediately gives her a comforting hug. He heard something bad happened and Serena nods. Her parents are breaking up...for good this time. She makes him promise he'll never leave her and he promises. He loves her.
STINGRAY: I'd have to be the biggest caketaker to leave you
He wants to take her out of the house to stop her from getting mopey. But where?
STINGRAY: Well I've learnt one thing from reading Janae's chick's magazines. And that's depression time by chocolate equals happiness!
The General Store
It's Lou! And he's making up some sandwiches. Harold, who is in a bit of a mood asks Lou about the ice-cream which has filled up their freezer. Lou calmly explains he lent the space until his friend's truck got fixed, but Harold is still mad he wasn't informed. Lou tells him to calm down about it, he knows Harold is worried about David and Lil. Speaking of which, a weary looking Lil has to speak with Harold. She's sorry about the scene before.
LIL: The last thing I wanted to do is publicly embarrass the family in anyway.
HAROLD: You leave my family to me. I'm worried about the way you treated David.
LIL: I had no choice.
HAROLD: To end your marriage in front of friends and family? Not to mention total strangers.
LIL: I didn't. I didn't meant to do it that way. I'm sorry. I have to come by later and ah, pick up some things.
HAROLD: No. I'll bring them over later to you.
LIL: You don't have to.
HAROLD: I want to. I'm not sure that David is ready to see you yet.

Dylan lets his frustrations about Mike rip. Paul won't have a bar of it though...but then understands where Dylan's real anger lies - the guy who spiked Janae's drink. He's concerned, does Dylan know where the guy is now? He mutters that he took care of him, but Paul sighs that it won't stop him from picking up someone else's sister!
PAUL: Don't you talk to me about justice! I know about justice and punishment. And wanting to protect the people that you love. If you had a teenage daughter I do, you'd want to see him put out of action. Not just for a few weeks but for as long as the judge can have him locked up.
Bishops'While playing with a cork, David recalls how he was able to control these corks from rolling away down the drain when he was younger...but now, he's got no more control. It's like someone has cut the strings... Harold comments he needs to focus on the positives, but David can't see any of that in his life anymore.
HAROLD: Life doesn't make sense.
DAVID: It's as if someone's...set me up. These things just don't happen, someone's gotta be behind it!
HAROLD: Who would do that to you, and why?
DAVID: Oh I don't know. Someone must have, there's no other explanation.
HAROLD: Oh David! No one would do that to you. You've just got to learn that sometimes things just do happen and for no good reason.
DAVID: I just have to think, who would do this to me. Who'd want to hurt me that bad? What do I have that someone else would want to take away from me. No. Oh no.

Janae comes up behind Mike to surprise him but is pushed away. He had a run in with Dylan which wasn't so pleasant. She is sorry and will sort it out...maybe she can make it up to him now? He still pushes her away, exclaiming how sick he is of her touching him and calls her family a bunch of bogans. She doesn't quite react, but just apologises again. He walks off and doesn't hear Janae call out she loves him.
Dylan pops up behind and Janae isn't pleased to see him at all. He insists he's better off without that guy...though Janae faintly asks as if he'd know.

Stinger and Serena pig out on cake - it's bound to make you feel better about the world! Harold rushes in, looking for David but he hasn't been in here yet. Resume to Stinger and Serena who talk about their parents. He tries to cheer her up...but she stops him. He doesn't need to, she may as well except her parents won't be together anymore. Stingray talks of his own experiences with his parents and when they separated. It was hard at first, but he's accepted it now after he realised they were better apart than together. She thanks him for coming and cheering her up, as she knows how awful things have been. He shrugs that it was no problem but she's talking about Boyd. He's released from hospital tomorrow and hopes things are okay. He says they are, it's ancient history. Not wanting to talk about it, he suggests wheelie bin racing!

Janae texts Mike on her pink Nokia (wasn't that Izzy's old phone?), how sorry she is and how she loves him. Dylan approaches and mentions he won't answer no matter how many times she texts Mike. She's still annoyed at him, she can take care of herself! Does he want her to sit alone? Why does he care?
DYLAN: Because, I don't want to be known as the guy with the easy sister.
Gasp. She hates him but Dylan quickly corrects himself. Mike is just a tool and he left her alone to get her drink spiked! Janae still stands up for him - she's been having nightmares about that night and Mike has been the only one she could talk to. Dylan looks concerned and says that the guy can't get away with it. They need to go to the police, they need to do it so he won't hurt anyone else.
Susan's
Lil's alone when Harold comes a knocking, he still on a search for David. He's concerned, thinking that the stress has got him paranoid about someone setting him up. Lil is astounded and wants to help in the search...but Harold simply replies he'll call if he gets any news.
Outside Lassiter's
Stingray and Serena come out of the bushes, a little dirty and battered when they notice David - looking red faced and determined. They call out but he doesn't hear.
Lassiter's
Paul is having words with the front desk and doesn't see David coming. Nor does he see the punch David delivers to his jaw. Good punch too, it knocks Paul right over.
Lassiter's
With Paul on the ground with a bloody mouth, David looks over him with a cold stare. Serena and Stingray (and well everyone in the foyer) can't believe what has just happened!
PAUL: What's got into you? What did you do that for?
DAVID: You want some more?
SERENA: Dad!
DAVID: I know what you've been up to.
PAUL: Oh yeah and what's that?
DAVID: You've been after Lil for months. Right under my nose.
PAUL: Oh David, I think you've been under a lot of stress lately maybe you should take a break.
DAVID: Oh yeah you'd like that wouldn't you? Maybe you could pay for me to have a little get away, get out of the picture SO YOU COULD TAKE ANOTHER CRACK AT MY WIFE!
Stingray and Serena try to pull David away, but he keeps going at Paul. How he's set him up over the fraud, how he knows it was his doing but he won't win. Paul fires back he has been the only person to support him, he is a friend! David is still determined however, Paul will not destroy him.
DAVID: I'm onto you pal, I'm ONTO YOU!
Scummins'
Dylan and Janae enter, after just having visited the police about her drink spiking. She's a little rattled.
JANAE: The last time I was in a cop shop it was done for nicking.
DYLAN: Bras wasn't it? And they were too big!
JANAE: Yeah well it seemed easier risking juvie than going bra shopping with mum.
Dylan tries to talk about Mike and how she doesn't need him. She doesn't really listen though, does he know how it feels to be cool one day, than rejected the next? Who will want to sit with her? Have anything to do with her? He tries to get her to look at the bigger picture...that it all won't eventually matter but like most high school teenage girls, she doesn't get it. She is no one.
Outside Grease Monkey's
Janae throws a basketball successfully (or she throws and some camera guy puts the ball through the hoop at the top) into the hoop and Lou compliments her on it. He figures she plays for a team, but her mantra is that sports is for losers. She spots Mike getting into his car and she runs up to the window. Yes, he did get her 8 text messages but it's still over. She's sorry about her brother, though there is a way they can get back at him. What does he think? He relents and they kiss before she hops in.

Lil answers the door to a pretty calm David. He knows how Paul Robinson could be powerful and why she would be under his spell. It's taken him a long time to realise it, but Paul set him up for the fraud. Lil of course doesn't believe him and blames it on the stress. David is determined, he knows the problem now he can find a solution. Harold and Serena appear, wanting to take him home but he lets Lil know he loves her and always will. Serena blames Lil for making David this way, she will never forgive her.
