Harold accuses Madge of losing him the job as traffic warden at the school by telling Susan that he's not up to it. He asks her if she thinks he can't be trusted to see a few children across a short stretch of road.
Madge says it's not like he thinks, she just feels that having something else to do would be too much for him. She says she just doesn't think he's physically capable of doing anything else right now. Later at the pub, Lou mentions to Madge about Harold biting his head off the other day when he mentioned the lottery ticket. The next morning, Harold gives Madge the silent treatment until she mentions that she was talking to Lou about him yesterday, Harold gets very annoyed and storms out. He heads over to Number 28 wanting to see Susan about the job, but he only catches Karl who invites him in for a chat. Harold talks to him about the job being taken away from him but doesn't make much sense and is going off on a tangent forgetting where he started. Karl asks him to pop into the surgery but Harold says he'd only do that if he thought he was ill and he doesn't. At the Coffee Shop later, Harold is making a grapefruit juice but he's forgotten that the person had to leave and cancelled the order. Madge says she's called Susan about the job because she'd realised how much it meant to him, although she still thinks he's got too much on to cope with. Harold forgets again about the grapefruit juice but tries to cover it up.
Lou is on at Phil again to recommend him at the Eden Hills club when he goes to his first meeting that evening.
Amy offers to give Joel a massage on his knee but he tells her she doesn't know the first thing about sports massages. He lets her give him a shoulder massage and in the middle she asks him if she could move into the house now that Sarah is gone. He says he'd have to talk to Toadie. Amy moves onto a full body massage and Lance comes in to talk to Joel in the middle. He wants to ask him about moving into Number 30, much to Amy's disgust! Joel is caught in the middle of their argument. The next morning, Amy goes around to Number 26 and argues with Lance about him trying to take her place in Number 30, Ruth walks into the middle of it and asks Lance what all this is about him moving out. Ruth asks him why she's the last to know. She says that if he's moving out just to impress Megan then it's obviously for the wrong reason. Lance walks out as Phil comes back. Ruth asks him to talk to Lance about it. Phil talks to Lance and asks him what the real reason behind him wanting to move out is. Lance won't tell him. Phil suggests that it might not be because of Megan, but actually because of Amy.
Later, Amy meets up with Joel at the swimming pool and asks him again about the house, he blows her off.
After a short time in the pool, Joel has to get out because of his knee. Amy says she could be his personal trainer because she could see his knee was hurting him! Joel says that if she mentions any problems he might have with his knee, she won't get the room at the house. Amy says she doesn't care, he's got to see that he's not going to be able to compete in any triathlon because his knee is so bad.
